Superb review! Insightful comparison between the vertical and horizontal benefits. I'm looking to acquire a small vertical crossbody to my collection. Since their hip pack came in two sizes, I wonder if NF will release a larger cross body to solve the water bottle situation.
@@PackHacker2 I actually was just using a regular plastic bottle and the straps just loosened. Obviously it was less sad the bottle emptied but it was annoying
I saw the North Face crossbody a year ago in store and nearly jumped for it.. then I realized that per square inch this North Face had more branding than my 60 litre NF duffle or my head to toe NF insulated coat. I guess it's because I've worked in marketing and advertising but I don't wear a logo that big unless someone's paying me, I certainly am not paying for the privilege. Adidas has had the same lineup as these bags for some time and the thing that catches your eyes is not how practical or well designed they are, but that massive black and white striped logo. Perhaps practical just to carry your phone ... perhaps..

What bothers me about the hip pack is once you a water batter in the front pocket it's hard to keep the strap length right.
