@@eduardhegyi I see your point I just really like seeing things outside of the usual "everything wants to murder you" thing that a fair amount of these SCP's are. I think his video of 682 being the only thing left on earth and marking the stars is honestly a good example of how you could make a murderous beast some what likeable. Evil can be interesting but I think giving more context and maybe more likeable qualities is what these SCP's really need.
This story was genuinely so wholesome and heart warming, this gives 173 the ending he deserves. And it gives us a new outlook onto 173 and why he is how he is, knowing all he wants is to be beautiful yet he's feared. It's incredible storytelling in such a short video
The apocalypse bringing peace to an SCP like 173 is so oddly heartwarming. The writing is done so well to make you feel what 173 feels, and the flesh seems genuinely kind despite the fact that it obviously just wants 173 dead and part of the mass. Finding a bit of wholesomeness in all the carnage and death is really an interesting way to take it
It was super interesting to see so many storyline come together in one video. There was the butlers handbell, and the statue killed the butler. There was the old man and his assistant saving a girl. There was the builder bear, and his army of bears. And there was the bomb from the Dr. Bright video. This was so interesting Good Job
Honestly, I love seeing 173 have an actual personality and thoughts. It’s not like he wants to kill everyone, he just wants people to admire him. Great job on this installment. I wonder what other SCP’s will appear next. SCP-343 perhaps?
I think we will see 682 first as an ally for Undoublin or for a diferent group of survivors as a way to try to stop the "immortal flesh" as he sees it. Scp 343 would probably have somethin to do whit 001- The Gate Guardian if you ask me.
@@eduardhegyi I doubt 682 would willingly help. He would most likely see it as “if all life is wiped out, then what is my purpose” and he’ll fight against 001 just so he can torment mankind instead.
Thank you for making this series, some of the best stories in the scp setting are when day breaks and it gets even better when you write the new stories
Damn, you and Cimmerian make great expansions on the story of When Day Breaks! I’m excited to see what happens next with Bright and Cim, and I’m also curious to see a story about 682. Since he can regenerate, how would 001 affect him?
Its an interesting case, but I assume the Sun would nullify its anomalous properties (both its regeneration and ridiculous adaptability) as it does with so many other SCPs. 682 would likely do its best stay out of the light while fighting off the roaming flesh abominations that would seek to convert it
@@rgfang3359 imo 682 would be able to surpass it, litterally the only thing he needs to do it use his giga chad adapatabilty to made a non organic shell for himself, and since the sunlight only effects the outside it would not nullify his absurd powers

I'm not going to lie, I thought it was going to end in one of two things happening 1. 173 Going Mach 10 across the earth enjoying his ability to move forver 2. Him screaming and crying in his head as the sun and all flesh was considered to have the ability to see
I like how 096 didn't want to be judged for what he was and how 173 just wanted to be admired for what he truly was but because he is so fast when people blink its like it lasted minutes for him and he thinks they were looking away in disgust.
@@a.q.2330 If I remember correctly from the original article, all biological SCPs had their anomalous properties neutralized when under the sun and became melted flesh as well.
Imagine if the scientists Manage to convince 173 that they are not blinking or looking away because they are ignoring it and 173 gets it then turns into safe class
I'm so excited for this to continue. I love these When Day Breaks, it describes so good how many SCP's would seemingly react and even going into their minds and seeing it from their eyes. I wonder if he will do SCP-682, I'm incredibly curious how he would react to this and what he would do during when day breaks. How would it effect him, he's resisted mind manipulation and possession and transmutation too so I wonder if it would just melt him initially and he just regrows back his normal skin but with a resistance to SCP-001 When Day Breaks or would he be consumed what doesn't seem likely to me. Ether way I can't wait for the next one, Keep up the good work!
I once heard or read a different version of this were the peanut came to realize if all the people died no one would look at him. But as he began to help people he found the adoration and praise he longed for. His role waa basically the door gaurd for a containment site.
@@jaydendickson9447 No. if you watched the UnDublin Video the survivors set out to find a British Nuclear submarine and send a nuke to Russia in order to trigger SCP-1984, which would launch every nuke in Russia and create a nuclear winter along with fires that would reduce the number of 001 Instances. They sent no personnel to military sites, but UnDublin DID send out some crew members to set off the nukes using a submarine, thus causing a nuclear winter.
I like this new version of 173. Obviously the Peanut will always live on in our hearts, but this new life given to the oldest entry is very nice. Visually, 173 is now like a golem, a man made of stone and metal. Mentally, he’s being given all of these new complexities and personalities and abilities. I love it.
So I think the reason why the rebar was fading was because 001 has the ability to take away anomalous properties from other scp’s, in which scp 173 is indestructible and can move at fast speeds, quote me if I’m wrobg
I think they are slooooowly making it a possibility for humanity to survive, (if all these scp deaths happen in the same universe) first the gate gaurdian takes out like a crap ton, then, a nuke comes outta nowhere and probably disintegrates most of the things
I kinda like the idea that while he’s looked at, he isn’t sentient and is just a statue, so to him he only sees people while they’re blinking, ignoring him.
The difference in persepective is interesting. It lets us know that while it cannot move while observed, whenever no-one is looking at it, that moment lasts for a long time to it, while from our point of view it moves quickly whenever it is unobserved. Communication is inconceivable, both because it is too full of itself to consider that everyone else might not be deliberately conspiring to not look at it, and the time dilation makes it impossible for humans to effectively speak to it without looking at it. They also have neither a way of knowing nor any reason to believe that it can read.
Object #: SCP-173 Object Class: Neutralized Special Containment Procedures: Due to this SCP being deemed Neutralized, no Containment Procedures are necessary. The former containment chamber of SCP-173 is to be rebuilt, and a memorial is to be placed here in honor of one of the Foundation’s oldest SCP’s on record. Once a day, three Junior Researchers are to perform the cleaning protocols once performed by D-class in said chamber. Two Researchers are to watch a picture of SCP-173, taking turns to blink as needed, while a third does the Janitorial work. Description: SCP-173 was a statue of rebar and concrete, with streaks of Red and Green paint coming from its presumed eyes and mouth. It often produced a brown viscous excrement, by what means is still unknown, that needed to be cleaned regularly. Three D-class personnel would be sent into SCP-173’s chamber to clean the excrement up. Three were necessary as SCP-173 would kill whoever was not looking at it. If anyone lost eye contact with SCP-173, it would snap the person’s neck. The remains of SCP-173 were discovered _¥@%&_ years after the world ended by the hand of the sun (see Addendum 1). They lay mixed in the sands in front of the entrance to Site 19, presumably destroyed by a shockwave equivalent in strength to that of a 5 megaton Nuclear Warhead. Said remains were no longer anomalous. Disposal was as simple as dumping the remains into a dumpster. A copy of the original SCP-173 Article can be found here (someone put it in the comments). Addendum 1: On October 23rd, 20€§, SCP-001 began emitting new light within the visual spectrum, causing all fauna that is touched by it to become changed. Several of these changed creatures, now designated SCP-001-A, have been captured and are kept in hermetically sealed chambers. Video surveillance of Site 19 shows one of these entities with SCP-173 after it breached containment. The entity then dragged the statue to outside Site 19, where both entities seemed to stare at the sun. Research is still ongoing as to how SCP-173’s remains became non-anomalous, seeing as the statue would remain anomalous if broken up into chunks (See Cross-test: SCP-173 vs SCP-914). The leading theory pertains to SCP-001’s anomalous effects. (See Addendum 2) Addendum 2: “It is theorized that SCP-001’s effect of changing every species of fauna into piles of flesh also changed the minds of its victims. When SCP-173 was exposed to the sun, it’s (previously unknown to exist) mind became one with SCP-001 or one of the SCP-001-A instances. This act must have removed all anomalous effects from the shell of SCP-173. While I cannot say from experience on this latter component, I can say that both Mind and Body are affected by exposure to the sunlight. “I’m just glad we figured out how to fix the world, and that I’m no longer a Flesh creature. Definitely don’t want to do that again. Dr. Cimmerian is still doing counseling sessions and visits to SCP-999. Maybe one day, we can make a visit to the sun and hit it with a Chainsaw Cannon!” - Dr. Bright
Yes!!!! The other SCP channels have progressively started to suck more and more, although that might just be lower quality writing in the new scps they cover. Fortunately, SCP Illustrated still has content that I want to watch as soon as it releases!
Could there be a way to communicate to 173 that humans need to blink to survive but still appreciate 173? Maybe some ritual to appease 173 and acknowledge their beauty?
I like this, it fits. And I like how you brought up the 106 again. I liked that one two. Do you have one for 682 or 053? I’m curious for your adaptation of 001 for them. What about for 076, 073 or 343? Would the sun harm any of them? What about for
I'd like to see how the Clockwork infected organisms react to WDB, or even how SCP-001A react to becoming infected with the Clockwork Virus as each instance becomes a pile of mechanical parts.
I get that everyone is moving to the redesign of 173 now a days. But think the story is much better and funnier when you imagine it as the good old peanut with zero articulation

This story was genuinely so wholesome and heart warming, this gives 173 the ending he deserves. And it gives us a new outlook onto 173 and why he is how he is, knowing all he wants is to be beautiful yet he's feared. It's incredible storytelling in such a short video
Honestly I wish y’all could create a TV show out of this series I love it
9:02 Scp-1048 and his creations say goodbye to the 173
10:14
“Everything the light touches, is the kingdom of 001”
The apocalypse bringing peace to an SCP like 173 is so oddly heartwarming.
I never thought the Sun in 001 could be wholesome, but here we are
Honestly, I love seeing 173 have an actual personality and thoughts.
In one of scp explained’s videos, he was turning into different statues, glad to be admired
scp 001 when day breaks is the cure to the entity that makes people suffer eternally after death.
Thank you for making this series, some of the best stories in the scp setting are when day breaks and it gets even better when you write the new stories
I swear to god when day breaks is one of the best things to come out of SCP
Each story you make of day break in scps perspectives, paints 001 as a bringer of peace to the suffered yk.
We need a "When Day Breaks" video of SCP-457 "The Burning Man"
I love how in a world where nobody accepts a man of rebar and concrete, there will always be hope in anything. Evil or Good
Sun was like: "Dang bro he ain't melting, let's just take his soul."
Absolutely stunning video! I'm glad peanut found peace after all those years but I'm sad to see him go to the sun. Beautifully written.
10:56 This sentence is 173's dream, but 096's nightmare
They are pretty much polar opposites, except for thier strength
Oh my gosh thats such... A new take on it. He has no idea people DO look at him to avoid his rage...
@@d4s0n282 i mean it took the nut which is made of steel and stone, so i dont think the angry lizard could escape
@@rgfang3359 682's abilities are natural if I remember, being a kid of the Scarlet King and all, plus being cursed by 343 to be immortal.
@@theorangeheadedfella thing is, he can make a player over his skin and stuff, that is not effected by scp 001, and im pretty sure he could adapt fast enough before it would consume him, and its also known that mental attacks has never worked on scp 682
“The sunlight itself will appreciate his beauty” *then night came*
7:55 I swear to god of they kiss or something I’m punching my wall
I feel like they do tho 🙃🤌
I'm not going to lie, I thought it was going to end in one of two things happening
1. 173 Going Mach 10 across the earth enjoying his ability to move forver
2. Him screaming and crying in his head as the sun and all flesh was considered to have the ability to see
I like this take of When Day Breaks and inorganic anomalies. It doesn't convert them, only take their minds. Really interesting.
Yeah, it's what happened to 035
I like how 096 didn't want to be judged for what he was and how 173 just wanted to be admired for what he truly was but because he is so fast when people blink its like it lasted minutes for him and he thinks they were looking away in disgust.
Amazing work! I never thought I could feel so bad and so happy for 173
Kinda wonder how the lego SCP would survive When day breaks. Could be neat too see
That was... Strangely heartwarming...
And will someone or something hurry up and kill 106 already!
He is invincible here I guess
@@a.q.2330
If I remember correctly from the original article, all biological SCPs had their anomalous properties neutralized when under the sun and became melted flesh as well.
@@J-manli Aside from SCP-1984, apparently, since that nuclear missile at the end was probably launched by it.
This makes me feel like you could have a conversation with 173 explaining how blinking works and then bam 173-safe class
Man I loved this one! This perspective on 173 is amazing!
Cant wait for dr. Bright getting to Yellowstone and doing something
What a beautiful story. Beautiful, sad, philosophical.
And an interesting POV from the first of all SCPs.
The idea of 173 actually being sentient terrifies me
This is genuinely very cool! I love the art, I haven't watched you for a while and the art and storytelling has gotten so much better!
I once heard or read a different version of this were the peanut came to realize if all the people died no one would look at him. But as he began to help people he found the adoration and praise he longed for. His role waa basically the door gaurd for a containment site.
Site 19: fallen, yellow stone: unknown
Wanders libairy: gone

UnDublen: *Nukes Launched*
@@finlandball1939 they had no nukez, they sent people out to military sites to cause nuclear winter
I love it.
I'm crying because peanut finally found happiness....
So I think the reason why the rebar was fading was because 001 has the ability to take away anomalous properties from other scp’s, in which scp 173 is indestructible and can move at fast speeds, quote me if I’m wrobg
Beautiful. Beautiful story and beautiful art. You are one of the most underrated YTers on the site. I hope to donate to you when I can.
I think they are slooooowly making it a possibility for humanity to survive, (if all these scp deaths happen in the same universe) first the gate gaurdian takes out like a crap ton, then, a nuke comes outta nowhere and probably disintegrates most of the things
*types in scp 294*
"I want... a cup of when day breaks effect reversal"
Lets hope it isn't out or range
294: Out of stock lmao.
Peanut went mobile form to explain the acceleration speed he has to snap necks nice
Absolutely amazing, your art is stunning, all when day breaks from you are amazing, this and undublin are my favorites
I kinda like the idea that while he’s looked at, he isn’t sentient and is just a statue, so to him he only sees people while they’re blinking, ignoring him.
Amazing. Absolutely and unfathomably amazing. I did not expect this sort of idea, but nonetheless a masterpiece of a video.
Bruh, these scp are wholesome with each other
Magnificent Work Illu!
Poor Mr. Deeds. He deserved so much better
good work, this is amazing! If you're still wanting ideas, maybe try SCP-2922? It's a pretty lore-rich scp and could definitely benefit from visuals!
Nice to hear of The old man and the woman again
I like how this personification ties into the original purpose of the image used for 173. It was an art piece meant to be admired.
Object #: SCP-173
Object Class: Neutralized
Special Containment Procedures: Due to this SCP being deemed Neutralized, no Containment Procedures are necessary.
Addendum 1: On October 23rd, 20ۤ, SCP-001 began emitting new light within the visual spectrum, causing all fauna that is touched by it to become changed.
(See Addendum 2)
Addendum 2: “It is theorized that SCP-001’s effect of changing every species of fauna into piles of flesh also changed the minds of its victims.
Bright
Everyone to doctor bright: "OH WE ARE GONNA FUCK THE SUN UP IT'S ASS WITH A CHAINSAW SO BIG THAT ITS THE EQUIVALENT OF A 6 INCH DICK"
I just remembered that the group from Undublin was on their way to launch a large scale nuclear strike... THEY MUST HAVE MADE IT!
What about for
SCP 682 survived
076 and 073 probably got turned into an instance of SCP - 001
343 must be *[DATA EXPUNGED]*
I'd like to see how the Clockwork infected organisms react to WDB, or even how SCP-001A react to becoming infected with the Clockwork Virus as each instance becomes a pile of mechanical parts.

I found it a little difficult to take the image of 173 casually reading a document seriously, if I'm honest.
So this is why SCP 173 does this whenever someone blinks
His perception of time is different when someone blinks
I get that everyone is moving to the redesign of 173 now a days. But think the story is much better and funnier when you imagine it as the good old peanut with zero articulation
