So, it is time to upload next game in Devil Blade series, it seems. DB2 made with Dezaemon 2 on Sega Saturn. While it still suffers from some of the problems that first game had (too much reliance on RNG during last few fights) it still feels much more balanced and fair. I also really like the multidirectional options that you use for shooting enemies. They remind me of Final Mission and Gleylancer which are very good shoot'em ups. I really hope that someday this game will get a Reboot version too.
It's a slight improvement over the first game, which had poor game balance. >I also really like the multidirectional options that you use for shooting enemies. That can be easily made with Dezaemon 2.
The difficulty level itself is also higher than the first game, which was appreciated by Dezaemoners. If a reboot version were to be released with the same drastic reduction in difficulty as the first game, it would likely lose its identity once again.
The way those "satellite" turrets can block shots also reminds me a lot of the R-Type series too, though if I remember right in there it could happen only if you purged it. Kinda feels like they did that to avoid bombs being mandatory to survive the randomness.
absolutely fantastic spritework, i've always wondered if there was some sort of importing going on or these creators really did just spend their time doing all of it in-software
Reminds me I must find back a collection of Deza2 games. Some pretty amazing creations on it. One was various iterations of Psyche Metal, one of which eventually became a free game on PC and the developer went on as Astro Port.
World war ravaged the Human Civilization, so something called "Eden Project" came up to restore Earth - only to be found out it is to save _only the chosen few._ So Zivernauts(player) go out to stop it entirely, which apparently succeeds but the Humanity is still in shambles.
