Stop trying to find excuses, Violet's voice actor is just better than Louis's. I doubt the director said to Louis's voice actor "one more time but with less feeling" so that they could capture that minute detail. They all lived together in a small group for years I'm sure their love for tenn was pretty equal.

The thing that bothers me is that the actress sang it way too cleanly for Minnie's condition. I mean, she had more important stuff to do than hitting those notes perfectly without her voice trembling cause of her physical and mental state.
Even though it may have been a bad call, it was either Violet/Louis or Tenn, and in the end AJ made a choice and he may regret it, but there's no fixing it.
Its not a bad choice, its either louis/violet or tenn and this wasnt the first time he messed up, who knows if he was going to do it again. Even louis and violet recognise it later, despite they were angry first.

But I'd have more faith in Tenn once he is being taught by Clem and AJ than Louis in serious situations. Violet is a good fighter but Louis is just a clown of the group. He keeps the spirit up with jokes and games but I wouldn't trust him to have my back or for him to do well under pressure. Violet I'd trust and since Tenn is younger he's easier to chance.

By shooting Tenn, you’re basically giving him what he wants, and saving Louis/Violet in the process. Tenn seemed to want to join Minnie in the afterlife, so AJ really did both of them a favor. It was a very mature and smart call on his part, and I’m glad I allowed him to make it when I played this.
That is so true. I think that it’s better for Tenn to be dead so he can be in the better place than a place where u have to fight to survive. He was just was too innocent for this world.

@@empyrean196 That's hindsight speaking however. We didn't know that he'd grow out of it if he survived the ordeal at the cost of Violet/Louis. Up to this point; Tenn had been a major liability that got one of his friends killed before. Mitch paid the price trying to save him from Lilly, and now he's putting Violet / Louis in harms way just so he could die with his sister. And even more, he still has this problem of hesitance and inability to make hard choices. He hadn't shown any skills that he can lend others to survive.. I'm sure he learns to grow and becomes more hardened as he realizes his dream of death was a lie, but it's all speculation of what his fate is like. But we can only make assumptions what he does.. Whereas we know Violet and Louis are perfectly capable of handling the undead ahead. Wounded or not, they are formidable survivors.

He doesn’t look like he’s mixed, sound like he’s mixed, etc. Also AJ is very sweet and kind sometimes like Alvin, similarly how people think how he’s carvers son for being so rash.

Ikr! I love both characters so much and choosing one over the other really sucked. Killing Tenn really cut off his character arc at the end, and seeing close he was to AJ gave that one choice so much impact. I don't feel that there was a better choice of the two, they both are emotionally charged and both lead to a similar ending.

I think Tenn was kinda supposed to be a more revised version of Sarah. Someone who although knows how to survive, can have a really naive view on people and situations in general.
She loved Tenn like he was her little brother. So naturally, she lost a major part of herself. Louis was hurt too, but simply didn't have the same attachment as Violet.
Man, that was the second time Louis got mad at AJ for murdering one of his friends and you can feel Violet's sadness in her voice, I really thought they were gonna be mad at us forever
I thought it was really pretty (I really like glowing blue colors under sunlight or moonlight). But, thinking about seeing something like that in real life... yeah, that'd be pretty darn spooky...
This was originally a response to someone else, figured I'd put it in the general comments section so more people can see it, hopefully helping them with understanding Tenn's mentality in the bridge scene (keep in mind this is my interpretation, but based on what we're told in game i think im pretty spot-on) Tenn knew Minnie was dying, that she couldnt be saved, he WANTED to be dead *with* her, but as we are shown at the end (if AJ doesnt shoot him), he didnt truly understand what dying meant, if he lives he says that he was naive, that naivety was about what happens *after* you die, think of the drawing he drew in episode 1, it was of Minnie and Sophie and the walkers that killed them, he thought (or at least hoped) dying meant going to this happy place, where everyone gets to be how they were before they died, but once he saw Minnie's remains torn apart on that bridge (he talks about this with AJ if he lives) he knew what dying really meant, youre dead, gone, not in some happy place, youre a mangled corpse on a river bed he wasnt going to Minnie to 'save' her like many people replied with, he wanted to die with her so he could go and see "Mom and Dad, and Sophie" like Minnie says, so yeah, Tenn's naivety wasnt about actually dying, it was about where you go *after* dying, and once he saw Minnie's corpse, he realized that he wanted to live, that life was all you get, and you cant rely on this world he created in his mind and drawings living through the bridge scene shows Tenn that life is his only guarantee and he needs to experience life and fight for it, earn his place, instead of his goal being to go to this happy place, his goal is now to live and protect the people that he loves that are still alive i love Violet and Louis, but im glad that Tenn was who i ended up with in my first playthrough (i of course didnt realize the weight of my choice to not trust AJ, i went into this episode blind, didnt read any spoilers) im working on a playthrough where Vi lives and Tenn dies, then eventually I'll do Louis, but Tenn living actually gives someone a chance to learn from their mistakes, and i feel Tenn's arc is probably the most fulfilling character arc in the series since Ben (besides Clem and AJ of course) he learns that his previous way of thinking was dangerous, and he seems to be working to fix it when we leave him, so im glad my first playthrough gave me a chance to see that arc, Tenn living till the end allows him to come full circle, hopefully for the better
Tenn wanted to be with Minnie So, by saving Louis/Violet, you granted his wish to be with Minnie Plus, Tenn made the same mistake twice It was better to shoot him than any of the other characters

Having Louis or Violet die was impossible to look at so I skipped ahead of that part. So glad I trusted AJ in the end. Tenn was sweet but like AJ said, he was messing up like when he got Mitch killed. I know that some really hate Violet, which I can understand, but she seemed cool to me at first, which seems weird I know. Louis is a better character, but I still liked Vi a bit
Darth Gamer496 Violet is definitely one of the better characters in this season, people don’t really like her because her character has been in all the other seasons, Molly, Jane, Ava. All these edgy tough girls who don’t trust anybody but still show the capability to be kind. Louis however is very unique to the entire series, only one character (Omid) even comes close to the type of personality that Louis has and even still is not as unique as Louis. Both good characters but one stands out much more then the other.
I didnt like Vi for the reason she was such a “loner edgy wha” character. Its really not a good trait to have in an apocalypse. Louis is much more optimistic and lovable but either way, both were better than Tenn. Tenn was naive and in a fantasy world, just like James was. I didnt like either of them dying, but I would prefer Tenn dying over Louis or Violet anyday

Only when shot herself was she attacked by walkers. Couldn't have been the smell of blood since she had chunks of herself missing and how come they didn't smell that blood.

i think the children are ‘better’ because living in the apocalypse is all they know, they never had a real honest childhood and if they did it was taken way too soon, which means they adapted quicker while the adults have a hard time adjusting and while it’s still hard for the kids, it’s probably so hard for the adults as well because they’ve lived their whole lives without having to deal with it, the kids matured faster, especially clem and AJ because the boarder school children didn’t have to deal with the world all that much for all those years, sure they were alone with no adults for the most part but they were safer than clem and aj

i feel violets reaction was more emotional whereas louis was more calm. violet was a "WHY DID YOU DO THIS" whereas louis was a "Do you even realize what youve done?" shows how they're two different persons and not just a char swap depending on who you chose. i really like that. extra: i did like louis reaction. it was harsh, angry and trying to make aj understand what he had done?? idk i like him a lot
to add, it makes it more interesting because louis usually is the emotional expressive, contrary to violet who is closed off. seeing how they switch places on this really shows the dynamic and how they really arent simple

I know Violet's voice acting is more emotional, but that's because it's part of her personality. Louis is more of the simple type, he just wanted to lift everyone's spirits even if he made himself look dorky or annoying, so he can't cope the same way at Tenn's death like Vi.

It's about the character than the VA Louis either loses his voice or stays the same fun guy Violet totally transforms after getting kidnapped and also is much more closer to Clem and Tenn
Honestly letting Tenn die seems much better, it's now a matter of survival, Violet/Louis has a better chance of helping the group than a person who would just freeze in fear, can't help someone if they won't help themselves
realizing what AJ had to choose, it makes it so much more sadder. he either couldn't trust himself and let clementines lover or best friend die and let his only kid friend live or shoot his first real friend and feel the guilt of killing ANOTHER person in the group that saved them
I like how they and even we forget that he’s just 5 and was born in a world of chaos, he only knew since the day he was born was survival and what’s sad was he was raised by a little girl who lost everything and her childhood thanks to the apocalypse. I’m surprise AJ wasn’t more fucked up. Maybe if Clem and AJ never met the group AJ would of grown up to be Sociopath or psychopath bent on survival only. I know the series and telltale games is over but If season 5 were to be made it would takes place when AJ is a late teen or adult and we see other people like him who were born in the apocalypse but didn’t have people from before the apocalypse like Clem or the group of kids to navigate them to being a person and not just a survivor. It’ll show how humanity would evolve in the future as the people before the apocalypse will be gone sooner or later and the people born in this new world would be way different from our once normal society. A society full of psychopaths and sociopaths, a grim future. And with the whole world infected including the survivors, the Walkers are here to stay sadly
This is really late. But do keep in mind the original script was everyone making it out alive. I wonder what that outcome would have been like. It'd probably one of those scenarios where you had to choose very very specific scenarios with certain characters to help them
I love this. Violet reacts immediately with anger, and i get that. I loved tenn and would have preferred him over her, but, I chose Louis. I couldn’t lose Louis, he was my fav character. Louis reacted more explaining, and showing, those two reactions show who they are. I loved this season.

I think he explains it best himself at the end (if he doesn't die) it mostly is related to his naive nature. Tenn yearns for a peaceful world above all else so he gets caught up in his hope.

Your favorite character sacrificing themselves to save a kid sounds more realistic and probably is what’s supposed to happen in a survival story, but HELL no I’m not letting that happen in MY story. @@empyrean196 That's hindsight speaking however. We didn't know that he'd grow out of it if he survived the ordeal at the cost of Violet/Louis. Up to this point; Tenn had been a major liability that got one of his friends killed before. Mitch paid the price trying to save him from Lilly, and now he's putting Violet / Louis in harms way just so he could die with his sister. And even more, he still has this problem of hesitance and inability to make hard choices. He hadn't shown any skills that he can lend others to survive..
I'm sure he learns to grow and becomes more hardened as he realizes his dream of death was a lie, but it's all speculation of what his fate is like. But we can only make assumptions what he does.. Whereas we know Violet and Louis are perfectly capable of handling the undead ahead. Wounded or not, they are formidable survivors.

Killing Tenn really cut off his character arc at the end, and seeing close he was to AJ gave that one choice so much impact. I don't feel that there was a better choice of the two, they both are emotionally charged and both lead to a similar ending.

This was originally a response to someone else, figured I'd put it in the general comments section so more people can see it, hopefully helping them with understanding Tenn's mentality in the bridge scene (keep in mind this is my interpretation, but based on what we're told in game i think im pretty spot-on)
Tenn knew Minnie was dying, that she couldnt be saved, he WANTED to be dead *with* her, but as we are shown at the end (if AJ doesnt shoot him), he didnt truly understand what dying meant, if he lives he says that he was naive, that naivety was about what happens *after* you die, think of the drawing he drew in episode 1, it was of Minnie and Sophie and the walkers that killed them, he thought (or at least hoped) dying meant going to this happy place, where everyone gets to be how they were before they died, but once he saw Minnie's remains torn apart on that bridge (he talks about this with AJ if he lives) he knew what dying really meant, youre dead, gone, not in some happy place, youre a mangled corpse on a river bed
he wasnt going to Minnie to 'save' her like many people replied with, he wanted to die with her so he could go and see "Mom and Dad, and Sophie" like Minnie says, so yeah, Tenn's naivety wasnt about actually dying, it was about where you go *after* dying, and once he saw Minnie's corpse, he realized that he wanted to live, that life was all you get, and you cant rely on this world he created in his mind and drawings
living through the bridge scene shows Tenn that life is his only guarantee and he needs to experience life and fight for it, earn his place, instead of his goal being to go to this happy place, his goal is now to live and protect the people that he loves that are still alive
i love Violet and Louis, but im glad that Tenn was who i ended up with in my first playthrough (i of course didnt realize the weight of my choice to not trust AJ, i went into this episode blind, didnt read any spoilers)
im working on a playthrough where Vi lives and Tenn dies, then eventually I'll do Louis, but Tenn living actually gives someone a chance to learn from their mistakes, and i feel Tenn's arc is probably the most fulfilling character arc in the series since Ben (besides Clem and AJ of course) he learns that his previous way of thinking was dangerous, and he seems to be working to fix it when we leave him, so im glad my first playthrough gave me a chance to see that arc, Tenn living till the end allows him to come full circle, hopefully for the better

Having Louis or Violet die was impossible to look at so I skipped ahead of that part. So glad I trusted AJ in the end. Tenn was sweet but like AJ said, he was messing up like when he got Mitch killed. I know that some really hate Violet, which I can understand, but she seemed cool to me at first, which seems weird I know. Louis is a better character, but I still liked Vi a bit
Darth Gamer496 Violet is definitely one of the better characters in this season, people don’t really like her because her character has been in all the other seasons, Molly, Jane, Ava. All these edgy tough girls who don’t trust anybody but still show the capability to be kind. Louis however is very unique to the entire series, only one character (Omid) even comes close to the type of personality that Louis has and even still is not as unique as Louis. Both good characters but one stands out much more then the other.
I didnt like Vi for the reason she was such a “loner edgy wha” character. Its really not a good trait to have in an apocalypse. Louis is much more optimistic and lovable but either way, both were better than Tenn. Tenn was naive and in a fantasy world, just like James was. I didnt like either of them dying, but I would prefer Tenn dying over Louis or Violet anyday

i think the children are ‘better’ because living in the apocalypse is all they know, they never had a real honest childhood and if they did it was taken way too soon, which means they adapted quicker while the adults have a hard time adjusting and while it’s still hard for the kids, it’s probably so hard for the adults as well because they’ve lived their whole lives without having to deal with it, the kids matured faster, especially clem and AJ because the boarder school children didn’t have to deal with the world all that much for all those years, sure they were alone with no adults for the most part but they were safer than clem and aj

to the people comparing the two voice actors, don't. it's not about who's better. violet was just closer to tenn than louis was, because of her connection to his sister. of course she'd be more emotional and her reaction would be stronger. if the roles were reversed and it was louis who was closer to tenn, i have no doubt that sterling would do an amazing job at an emotional reaction. his portrayal of louis has been one of the best i've seen
It's about the character than the VA Louis either loses his voice or stays the same fun guy Violet totally transforms after getting kidnapped and also is much more closer to Clem and Tenn
Honestly letting Tenn die seems much better, it's now a matter of survival, Violet/Louis has a better chance of helping the group than a person who would just freeze in fear, can't help someone if they won't help themselves

I like how they and even we forget that he’s just 5 and was born in a world of chaos, he only knew since the day he was born was survival and what’s sad was he was raised by a little girl who lost everything and her childhood thanks to the apocalypse. I’m surprise AJ wasn’t more fucked up. Maybe if Clem and AJ never met the group AJ would of grown up to be Sociopath or psychopath bent on survival only.
I know the series and telltale games is over but If season 5 were to be made it would takes place when AJ is a late teen or adult and we see other people like him who were born in the apocalypse but didn’t have people from before the apocalypse like Clem or the group of kids to navigate them to being a person and not just a survivor. It’ll show how humanity would evolve in the future as the people before the apocalypse will be gone sooner or later and the people born in this new world would be way different from our once normal society. A society full of psychopaths and sociopaths, a grim future. And with the whole world infected including the survivors, the Walkers are here to stay sadly

I love this. Violet reacts immediately with anger, and i get that. I loved tenn and would have preferred him over her, but, I chose Louis. I couldn’t lose Louis, he was my fav character. Louis reacted more explaining, and showing, those two reactions show who they are. I loved this season.
