According to Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller on SiriusXM, the Chargers have this in the bag and taking the field is a formality. They’re already talking about how Harbaugh can work Zeke Elliott into the game plan for the divisional round

And CJ need to hit his check downs. If mixon can’t get the run game going he need to help block or gain some easy yards on them check downs. Get him going in the open field

Bobby did give you an answer. Isn't it obvious. They don't know what they're doing. That's the answer. Clear as day.

The Texans need to be working on their red zone offense. That’s all we need is to score points our defense is elite with Harris and azeezz back

I think the key is to pressure Herbert, Knock Justin H on his butt. I like our Dline and CB in this match up. Just hope CJ and the offense can roll.

Herbert is about the top rated quarterback against pressure in the NFL

    • @BerserkRain
      @BerserkRain 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

@Timmeh_The_tyrant And his only interceptions are from pressure. Means you either pressure throws to give our CBs chances or getting back to hitting him.

I'm a Chargers fan and your absolutely right if u pressure our qb u have a good chance if not Herbert w a pocket or even just a tad bit of a sec can and will throw that football anywhere he wants his arm is crazy

@Cody, random question but Could Houston offer a team Tytus Howard and pay some of his guaranteed money to get them to take him and get a mid-late round pick for him? And in doing so free up some cap space?

This is going to be a good game and may be close, the deciding factor may be the defenses. Based on that I will go with the one that has limited offences and is #1 in doing it. BOLT UP! ⚡

I keep hearing all the Texan TH-camrs and fans saying Chargers haven’t played anybody. So obviously you’re clueless. And that our defensive stats were against nobody.
7 of our 17 games were against playoff teams including the Chiefs twice and the Ravens. Also played the Bengals that many view as a playoff team that just didn’t make it.
Our defense hasn’t given up more than 20 points in a game playing away all season.

I get it you’re scoping out the competition😂. It’s going to be a defensive battle, but the question is who can make the big play?
We have lots of questions with our offense, but we live on big plays and our defense. Not sure if you can say the same.

Everybody brings up the dead horse of the Texans O-line. That's obvious to even the most casual fan. It's true and they are awful, but in truth they weren't really worth a damn last season either and CJ thrived. That said, there must be much more to it than the O-line. Just focusing on the O=line is just lazy analysis. What about the OC/QB coach? Hopefully, given the plethora of NFL HC jobs open in the NFL, there will be at least one that will focus more on the OC's performance LAST year and excuse away Slowit's uselessness this year.
The biggest ""500-pound gorilla in the room" that all these analyst types are mostly unwilling to recognize is that Stroud is just dumb. He can't help being dumb and having a learning disability, but he does have to deal with it and find a way to work around it. Despite having way more than enough physical talent and skills to be an elite NFL QB , that's not enough. While I doubt many elite NFL QBs teach theoretical physics in their spare time, there is certain level of intellect required to perform at that position. I know that a test score is NOT the end all/be all of metrics to evaluate a QB by, but it is never the less, a valid metric that is a component in the evaluation a player. Just a fact. It is said that most of the elite QBs in the NFL score in the mid 90's percentile on the S2. Stroud scored in the 16th percentile. Yea, yea we've all heard when he was drafted, the attempts to explain away his lack of football IQ as always doing poorly on tests. Well, he's had a test on reading NFL defenses as well, and his score on that isn't much better. Take that as you will. Time will tell if he can master that part of the game.
Not that it matters for the rest of this season, but for the Texans to move forward with CJ at the helm and be an elite team and he be an elite NFL QB, a number of things have to happen. Yes, obviously get him an O-line that can at least give him a few seconds before he's obliterated. Yes, find another back that can produce some quality running yards and compliment Mixon. Yes, find some TE's that can consistently run quality routes, be able to block and most important, catch the damn ball. Yes, a more coherent use for the WR.
However, more important than all that is to get rid of Slowit or reintroduce him to what a quality OC is supposed to be and knows how (and is willing to commit the time) to work with CJ. A new QB coach might be helpful as well. They absolutely HAVE to find someone to be able to intensively work with CJ and teach him how to play NFL ball at an elite level. Also, it wouldn't hurt to tell CJ that he can hire his OWN PERSONAL QB coach that is employed by him and not the team. A number of NFL QBs do this with Maholmes being among them. These are the most important things for CJ and Texans to progress.

Let’s take the Deshaun performance comparison with a grain of salt. Bill O’Brien (although we hate him), had already been calling offense as a HC for 5 years at that point, and had been calling offensive plays for over a decade. Bobby and BoB, neither great, but it’s still night and day. Bobby wouldn’t get Brian Hoyer to the playoffs lol. I also think Hopkins and Fuller were both better versions of Nico and Tank.
