At the time, many thought this was a goodbye song from the group who were at the end of their contracts. The next title song after is something of a fan song that shows them playing together and having fun as a group. The title is mumumumuch. On the other hand, Where Are We Now is part of a four-track album. The other three songs are also power ballads.

Solar actually can act for real. She headlined the Korean Theater version of and portrayed the main character of Mata Hari last year. She made MoonByul cry with that performance. :)
Geez, bookending a Mamamoo (mini)marathon with I Miss You and Where Are We Now is not for the soft-hearted. Emotional damage!

You're really diving in deep here.This was another DEVASTATING performance piece. It completely flattened every fan around the world. Because at the time we were pretty sure they were done as a group. They had not resigned. It looked like Wheein was out for sure. Then THIS love letter to fans emerged and broke everyone. Our LOVE for these 4 women was beyond what we even knew it was. It looked and sounded like a good bye song. There were solid reasons we all thought it WAS a good bye. A farewell from them. WE all died small deaths every viewing. They're all being so soft and fragile here.

This song is so bittersweet for most Moomos, because they released at the end of their 7 years contract, and that is usually where the disbandment occurs.
So listening to this song, especially the final duet (Hwasa and Wheein) knowing their history together, was like a knife in the heart. But thankfully, Mamamoo is still alive, and while we don't have a new comeback from the divas, we enjoy the solos and subunits.

This song always breaks my heart. They released this when I had become a full on moomoo and I was broken after this song released. I actually couldn’t watch the MV for a few days because I knew what it would do to me.

This song is on the WAW album but is definitely one of the best songs, because it is about them reaching 7 years as a group and moving forward, at the time Wheein had not signed her contract back with RBW and ended up not signing for solos. Solar, her belt there is something different, all of them Belt, most kpop singers do it well but Solar somehow has volume, power, mass there is just something more, just not what would be expected from such a tiny person. Moonbyul singing as well which is more common in solos or with mamamoo+ and really Hwasa and Wheein, harmonizing at the end especially, again they prove god does put angel's on earth, 4 of them are in mamamoo.
Yet somehow, for some horrible reason, WAWN did not get a nomination for Best vocal performance. (Neither did BTOB's The Song) - sometimes I just don't understand.....
I love this power ballad so much. It is criminally underrated because many moos projected their worries of disbandment toward it at that moment, which shows exactly how powerful it is, but, in contrary, there were also many moos didn't believe it was about goodbye with different interpretations, especially we can see them enjoying ice creams on top of the cabin like they were taking their time to rest and enjoy the moments, and they will keep supporting each other in the future like a family no matter what. For me, it was like they were reviewing their past, pondering about their struggles, and looking forward to the future even it wasn't clear to them. It was a sincere confession of MAMAMOO's dark era due to the impact of pandemic and the uncertainties about how to continue their careers as soloists and as a group back then. This song is a masterpiece and deserves more love.
As sentimental and beautiful as this is, the first time I watched it the biggest thing in my mind was worrying between takes of filming the video they were going to crack head right off the top of that RV and hurt themselves. That flock of birds that flew past Hwasa with perfect timing wasn't from a computer, they were real. After 10 years singing together ending the song with Wheesa vocals was the perfect choice.
I wouldnt worry about not saying enough or "reacting" enough... I like to think that reaction channels are ppl watching with you, not you watching for someone. If you are captivated, just sit in it and we can talk after the video lol... Keep it up guys!
This song is an artistic overkill! It perfectly shows the superb quality of their voices and their skills. Undoubtedly a hightlight for me.

You didn't mention it but it seemed like you knew this song is about their 7 year journey together as they reminisce about the past and ponder their future together. WAWN came out shortly before their initial 7 year contracts with RBW expired in 2021. Other than some solo work they devoted most of their time that year to retrospective projects including a documentary film called Where Are We Now and a 2 cd career retrospective album called I Say Mamamoo: The Best, which included new recordings of 21 of their hits and favorite b-sides, many of them in rearranged versions they had only done live previously, and two new songs.
Most of the MV speaks for itself but I have a couple theories about two scenes. Towards the end we see them from overhead in a formation that looks like an upside down and backwards 7 or an unfinished 4. I think they mean both: 7 years have passed and the 4 of them aren't done yet. In the next scene they're surrounded by spotlights shining up into the night sky. I think the spotlights symbolize moomoos and all the "precious people" who have surrounded them with love and support and lifted them to stardom just like they've lifted our spirits to the heavens. Precious people is in quotes because the MV for Star Wind Flower Sun, Solar's song of gratitude to their families, colleagues and moomoos, is dedicated "To Our Precious People."
Though they're essential songs you should probably avoid the fan songs I Love Too and Star Wind Flower Sun if you don't want to get all emotional. Both were primarily written by Solar with rap verses by Moonbyul & Hwasa or Moonbyul.
If you want to go back to having fun with Mamamoo you should watch the MV for Um Oh Ah Yeah, which was their first top 10 single. And since you seem to like it when they get sexy and when they wear suits you can have a two-fer with Decalcomanie. 😂

First crack song, do their pokemon cover. For variety I'd suggest 10 minutes of Mamamoo flirting on stage. Now, when Where are we Now came out in June of 2022, Wheein had not signed and we did not know if Mamamoo would continue or not. I was a wreck for a week and could not watch the reactions to the vid more than once every few days. The ultimate gut punch here is the two middle school friends Hwasa and Wheein, who traveled together to Seoul to try to become idols harmonizing on the final line "We shared the same dream. Where are we now?"

Ugh that last line with Hwasa and Wheein singing gets me so bad (well the whole song does, it being about their journey as group and vocals)
On a more fun note I recommend "Um Oh Ah Yeh", "Gogobebe", "Dingga Dingga", "You’re the Best" and "Piano Man" (which is one of my fave songs of theirs)
I highly recommend “Paint me” for the emotional vocal performance. One of the best lyrics I’ve ever heard. Also you could check out Big Mama Killing voice. Equally legendary vocal as Mamamoo, and they probably were Mamamoo’s childhood idols.
If you want something fun I recommend their MVs for Um Oh Ah Yeh (their breakout song) and Dingga (lockdown era)! You've pretty much got the worst of the emotional ones out of the way now so don't worry! Just think, the silver lining is that at least you watched Where Are We Now at the beginning of your journey before you got even more attached to them, you've got this!

Oh, their dance practices are a lot of fun to watch. Check out Piano Man dance practice. That was their second release, but the girls' comfort with physical contact among themselves was already on full display. And tap dancing in high heels demands respect!

- mr ambiguous (this was their debut song and it's an absolute bop!)
- piano man (their second release, it's a jazzy snazzy broadway type song)
- ahh oop (ft. esna)
- hip (really empowering song that instantly amps up your energy)
- um oh ah yeah (the mv is pretty funny, you get to see their chaotic side)
- you're the best (a fun summery love song with all the members being cute goofballs)
- wind flower (this one is a bit emotional but not heartbreaking; it's more nostalgic and hopeful)
- gogobebe (not my favourite out of their songs but it's a fun party song)
- yes i am (it's a fun bubbly song that talks about how they break the beauty standards and embrace their natural features)
- illella (their most recent comeback, it's so fun to listen to and solar showcases her amazing vocals, as always)
- dingga (they released this during the pandemic, as a lighthearted song that complains about the struggles of being in a lockdown)
there are a lot of their live performances i recommend you check out too, especially their queendom and immortal song stages! i highly recommend you watch their performance of delilah, it was PHENOMENAL (and not too emotional, don't worry!)

Also, I keep coming back to the video they did in a radio station: [Live On Air] You’re the Best, from MBCkpop. Their live vocals and “acting out” make this a fun one to watch-and the performance packs a punch!
