On the first level of meaning it's a song about taking stock in a relationship but to moomoos they're reflecting on their 7 year journey together while pondering their future. In 2021 they released a 4 song all ballad EP called WAW (Where Are We) which included WAWN prior to their contract renewal, then a documentary film also called WAWN, and a 2 cd career retrospective album called I Say Mamamoo: The Best, which included new recordings of 21 of their hits and favorite b-sides, mostly with new arrangements or remixes they had only done previously in concerts and award shows, plus 2 new songs. A common format for a MMM MV is a series of solo scenes where each member expresses her own take on the song's situation and emotions, often interspersed with group dance scenes in the chorus (not in this song), and then at the end the members gather as a unit. There is usually symbolic content in their costumes, props, sets and actions, such as Moonbyul on a bridge over railroad tracks (at a crossroad in her life/career). When they come together in WAWN we see them from overhead in a formation that looks like an upside down 7 or an unfinished 4 and I think it's both: 7 years have passed and the 4 of them aren't done yet. Then they're in a field with spotlights surrounding them shining up into the night sky. I think the spotlights represent moomoos, who have always surrounded them with love and support and lifted them to stardom just like they've lifted our spirits to the heavens with their music and bright, shining personalities.
Wish y'all could have gone to their concert here in the US earlier this year. I went to the one in Ft. Worth and loved it so much. First kpop concert and was not at all disappointed. Though they are not disbanded, I do think it will be more difficult for them to all come together. Even Solar said so. Regardless, I'll support them in group and solo activities. 😊😊😊😊
Yall, they aren't disbanded... They literally just finished a world tour, I doubt they'd come back to the West so soon. Everyone deserves to listen to them live at least once in their lives lol When they come back here next time, I'm gonna go to at least a couple days instead of just one.
this song was released after 7 years together..this was known time mark where lot groups dont get past the 7 year make. Correct about the contract, wheein also had not signed at hat time if this mv.
you guys picked great one as it showcases their distinct vocal tones and harmonies..wish more people would react to it..its so beautiful this song. Represents their 7 year journey..members were burnt out at that time and wheein had not resigned yet. members had many worries which they spoke about in their documentary .
A beautiful song and I have seen them sing it live, which makes it even better. Yes in fact they have gone camping in small RVs and tents and have put that on their youtube channels. At least Solar and Moonbyul have on Solarsido and Moonbyul2da. Though not as a group, either together or one of them and with other people, Moonbyul and some members of purple kiss is one and Solar did an attempt to survive a deserted island.
The song is about them not a romantic relationship. Both WheeIn & Hwasa were school friends with a dream of becoming singers. Mamamoo was on a journey together as a group for 7 years. Not every song is about romance. I really enjoy their fun song to fans Mmmuch.
Hope you also look into decalcomanie and dingga! Their solo work is also great, along with their variety show stints. There are lots of funny video compilations of theirs like why music show rooms should be soundproof and why mamamoo shouldn't host their radio show. 😊
fandom thought this was a disbandment song at the time. This such emotional song for us and them.
