Chris Mullin was a beast back in the day. Big dude who could shoot with the best of them. Very Physical and technical player. One of my fav all time players.
Thank goodness for the algorithm. This was really enjoyable. Both Bird and Magic say Mullin was the better shooter they've seen. Ewing, speaking of shooting, had such a soft touch within 12' of the basket. Two absolute legends.
For those of you young ones out there, the Patrick Ewing-led Georgetown/Chris Mullin-led St. John's rivalry in 1985 was mammoth, and it coincided with the emergence of the Big East as the preeminent basketball conference of the era, along with ESPN AND Dick Vitale. Both players were coming off of the '84 Olympics, were Player of the Year candidates, and leaders of loaded basketball teams. Georgetown was the defending NCAA Champion, the Beast of the East, and St. John's had added forward Walter Berry (I think he was the JC Player of the Year) to their line-up. Both teams were either ranked first or second, and they met three times, the last being in the Final Four (Villanova was the third Big East team in the Final Four).
Much too short. We need a one hour plus sit down with these 2 Bug East legends and Hall Of Famers.2 of my all time favorites.Patrick being my favorite college player of all time. ( lost the defensive intensity in the pros, but elevated his offense).Chris and I are the same age and I remember him and Ed Pinckney coming up to Haffen Park aka Valley Park to play in the City- Wide summer tournament back in 79/80.
Chris and especially Pat! Two of the superstars that I grew up watching and admiring as a kid and as a teenager! God bless you guys!

If these two played together, they could have won a lot of titles

I grew up in Oakland! We watched The Golden State Warriors create small ball with the great "Run TMC" teams. Don Nelson was a geniuse!
I could listen to their stories all day long!
Thanks for this. Two of my favourite players.
Everyone did want to become a soccer/foortball player, great point 👉
As a Warrior fan, Ewing is hands fuckin down....my fave center(also big fan of Hakeem). dude was automatic in the post and had deadly middys.
Hakeem is much better than Ewing
This was great !

George Town and Nova were the teams between St.Johns and a National Championship. I'd venture to say if Mullin made it to a final game he'd go off.
Wonderful...
✌️ Ewing
