Far out cigar box guitar build interesting graphic on the cigar box. I just built my first cigar box guitar on Thanksgiving with help from my neighbor I mentioned to my family at dinner that I'm thankful to have wonderful neighbors, when my grandmother passed recently the entire block made our family dinner for weeks and I just wanted to mention how thankful and genuinely delighted that people still care ❤
With a piezo pickup, you're actually getting the unique and "natural" sound of the box, whereas with a magnetic pickup, you're only picking up the vibration of the strings.
Cool video! I've been wondering about this recently, but haven't bothered to test it out for myself so I'm glad you uploaded this today. By the way, I might have missed it if you mentioned it, but was there any significant volume difference between the two locations?
Yes. Superglue sets like glass. I use the thickness of the timber to filter out the high end frequencies and a volume control does the rest. Hot glue is terrible here in Australia as I often find that it melts over 40degrees C. I use the tape to hold it in place as the glue dries. Never a problem:) I end up with a strong rich tone that I can shape with the volume control.

Very interesting. I've never tried thought about under the bridge being a place to put the piezo. Sound difference is amazing. Great idea.
I've been placing my piezos on the lid under the bridge with decent success. I've never tried placing it on the neck piece. I may try your way.
I'm a Del disciple...... that's awesome.
I put mine under bridge centered on the low string. Great info video.
I am a Del disciple and build them that way too. They sound great. I'm building # 8 and 9 in about 6-8 months. So much fun to build and play.

The pickup being under the neck was notably louder than the one fastened to the box top. The tone was also clearer, less muted.
@@FearGrounds Thanks!
Try better shielding in the box wires sb bundeli to cut down on hum
Hi Adam, does this only work when you use a wooden bridge? I tried it using a bolt didn't get any sound had to it move to the box top.
I’m not a fan of bolts. I just don’t like the way they look. Or sound.
And you just use superglue to attach the piezo to the neck

Unorganized waste of time
