A beautiful sight. Poetry in motion. Such power and grace. I miss those sensations. It has been years since I have been on a slalom ski. I do remember how it feels though. Pulling as hard as you can from the core and then that smooth release and glide into the next turn, a quick roll into the turn then hard on it again.
What a video! This popped up as a TH-cam suggestion for me. Watching a pro in slow motion is such a great way to learn the finer details of short line.
I wish more people would get into water skiing, years of technology into making small wake was thrown out the window with wakeboard boats that trash docks and shore lines as an old guy that did alot of water skiing 30 years ago this is a joy to watch
I really think it's an issue of access. Having a boat or a good friend/family member with a boat is the in, as well as access to a lake that isn't too busy (which is nearly impossible anywhere near many cities). I was lucky enough to have an uncle with a nice 1998 Ski Nautique (still has it and keeps it in great shape) with a small wake growing up, and a family that all water skis, in a state full of lakes. Otherwise, there's a 0% I would have gotten into it. I'm so spoiled that skiing behind any wake bigger than that almost ruins it for me lol.
+1 Another "older" guy SMH at the $ paid for ski boats on our lake -and most are TUBING! Very rare to see a skilled slalom skier ripping it. Tubers are Frogs on a Lily Pad, skiers are athletes. Same goes for E-Bikes/boards/scooters -what's up with all the obese kids riding around on them.
I came across this video years ago and have watched it at least a million times. It is my go to video whenever I need inspiration or a refresher on what perfect form looks like. I always recommend it to people wanting to better their slalom game. I think ladies, especially RJ, are considerably better form skiers than men. Men can muscle their way through the course. I think ladies have to rely a little bit more on form and finesse.
I agree until you try this out you have no clue. I just got into skiing and after five cuts I feel like I just ran a sprint...and I'm talking noob cuts. Awesome video!!
I learned to water ski when I was 24 years old and worked out every week. It looks so easy....But it takes a lot of strength, even when you're just following the boat doing nothing but staying on top of the water. I'd say most people can't ski for 15 minutes.
Her patience with the handle on her offside is classic. I wish I could ski away from the handle and leave almost no slack. She doesnt have to wait much on the rope after the ball.. excellent.
Shut up and skiier77 umm no it doesn't all you have to do is get the SKI around the buoys. And don't tell me no because I ski and I go to a pro event every year and this is what they do.
Max B you can tell just by looking at them they’re all rich kids that grew up with nothing else to do but water ski all day. Believe it. Same with so called professional wake boarders and snow skiers.
Handle position is so much of it. Handle low prevents the ski from trying to pull down course, and continue the arch all the way to the wake. Hardest pull at the back of the boat.
Very cool. Where you involved with the construction process of the lake at all? I only ask bc Id like to build one on some property here on the west coast of Florida and wasnt sure how/who I would get permits from, if needed at all. I heard of someone in a different state who built one & then got it trouble for not having it approved by the Army corp of engineers.
Uhhggggg NO!! She didn't miss any gates... Watch again. The first two together are not a gate... She made all six gates, bumping the first one with her left thigh. Nice Job Regina. Awesome :)
You are talking about the turn buoys, but the first two red buoys together are the 1st gate, she must go between them at the start of her slalom pass, she was early and passed behind both buoys. Obviously this was just practice/photo shoot, so it doesn't matter, in competition it would delete her whole run.
Sorry Frank, gates are the "Starting Gates"... like how they are called in the rule book. It does look like she missed her opening gate, but if not, she was danged close. Makes for an early #1.
Usain Bolt just runs down a track. Keep in mind, this is 1/4 speed, and she is the world record holder. She accelerates about 4 g’s coming out of the turn and pulls close to a thousand pounds of pressure on the line. Do that and make it look easy, that’s what’s impressive.
@@buckbuck9225 American Football is not an Olympic sport either, yet it is still impressive and fun. Regarding the technical information check this link out worldwaterskiers.com/what-is-tournament-waterskiing/ Yep, it is really that intense and a pro water skier (not to mention the world record holder) will indeed have impressive acceleration and line loads. Try it some time.
She is an inspiration to watch at 1/4 speed. So graceful and efficient. Great stuff Regina
Beautiful !! Love the slow mo and near perfect execution of the run!
Great form and fun to watch in slow motion. Great at bringing the rope to the opposite hip out of the turn. Makes it look effortless. Perfect.
Paul Johnson pull through the wake, outside hip, look where your going.😉
i could watch that all day long...so cool!

I just fell in love..

I've watched this video countless times. Looking forward to seeing you compete again soon Regina, hope PT is going well for you.
I could watch this all day, good stuff

Perfection in motion.......
Good chat👍🏅🥇
The hardest part for me was always maintaining the edge after the turn so that you’re in position to pull again. That’s where I always get behind.

how can there not be music to this video regina? its the best !
chipper
You are so good !!!
Looking fantastic!!!
she's awesome, dying art form, everyone wants to wake board
She is an artiste
Water skiers turn sharper, ski faster and wank less.
Or surf
It's a slalom ski ya kook
I dunno. I have several kids hooked on slalom skiing. Get them on good water and a good ski and magic happens.
Wow!!! Great video and an amazing skier!!
That's like poetry in motion!
It just so beautiful lol. Don't really know what else to call it
oh wow..she is just WAITING for the next buoy...like its a walk in the park...amazing!!!!!!
Try to do it once a year now because that's how long it takes to get over the soreness. That is hard work!
She used to ski off the boat I own now my: claim to fame
Her patience with the handle on her offside is classic. I wish I could ski away from the handle and leave almost no slack. She doesnt have to wait much on the rope after the ball.. excellent.
I arrived here in the comments way in the future and it was still cool !
Beyond belief that she can get so much angle she is miles early for the next ball. Brilliant skiing.
So Smooth, that is how it is supposed to look.
Awesome use to get after myself love her weight back style
She sure makes 32 ft/off look easy. Very smooth. Her timing is damn near perfect.
I know this is an old vid, but I miss single skiing and being a passenger in the boat as you feel the tug of a cross.
Man, when these pros make a cut, they spray so hard they make it rain in another country.
Beautiful
Outstanding
She makes that look so easy.
Brilliant.
Gravity disliked this vid 39 times in 6 years.
Left foot forward has the better advantage on the First Bowie your body is more inclined with left foot forward
What perfection
Brilliant !
Very Beautiful. Now we know why people buy homes on slalom lakes. It make me want to do it.
That girl is amazing
Smooth as shit!!!!! Great job! Keep it up, it's awesome seeing the girl rip through that..
My Hero!
This video is sick... wish we had views with shorter line lengths...
superbe ..................j adore !!!
That looked to easy for her. I wish I could ski like that.
I love slalom. Nice pass!
Awesome 😎
So nice
ART
Now that's holding an edge right there.....
Smoooooooth Baby 😎
That is HEAVEN on 🌎! That is better than sex , alcohol or drugs!
AWESOMEEEE
Amazing
I love her.
brilliant!!! :-)
She is inspirational. She looks very tall here.. but actually she's 5'4" !
She makes it look easy........but those who have done this, know it is not.
yep. ive been trying my whole life to drop my hip that low on a turn...still nowhere near this.
Yep ut is very easy to cut in to sharp then you snap around two quick and you skip out.
I could never do it at 34mph. My best was between 30 and 32mph at 32off.
It is easy lol.... She is a women, not as good as a man hence they compete seperatly
DuzBee But it’s not easy bud😹
She is right over the ball and that counts as in
Shut up and skiier77 umm no it doesn't all you have to do is get the SKI around the buoys. And don't tell me no because I ski and I go to a pro event every year and this is what they do.
awesome
How the hell do they carve back inside like that
timing and skill

The Last Rebel Show 😂😂😂😂

Where do you have the camera mounted & what cam is it?
Camera is a Panasonic AG-HMC40 shooting at 720P/60 handheld from the passenger seat of the boat.
+Kelvin Kelm thanks!
Sweet!!
She madevthat look easy as pie.
Music please
Where is this? Is it a man-made lake specifically built for slalom-ing?
This was filmed at Stillwater Lakes in Palm Bay, Florida. It is a private man-made water ski development.

Franklyn Arnett u r confused the two together are called the gates. The buoys on the outside are the turn buoys. Also she gets into 41

Yay. Awesome
Better than PERFECT
The pros have it easy, skiing on glass. They should try that in the rollers at my lake
Dawn or Dusk on public lakes.
Poetry.
SICK!!
Why?
🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼
That was cool..
Excellent form!
this gal is awesome,,,,,,not even in my prime could I cut a wall like that. ha.
😄👍🏼👍🏼
Still skiing & wakeboarding, love them both.👍🇬🇧
멋있오,.😍
Wow!
Am I the only wakeboarder that watched this waiting for her to do a trick?
Youth is wasted on the young...
missed the first gate!
zach treloar nope just barely made it
Her style reminds me of Andy Mapple a lot.
Deena Brush/Mapple
Look at that girl pull...
She goes left then right.am i missing something fantastic??

I can do that but I don't wanna.
No u can’t lmfao

It wouldn't seem like it, but Slalom skiing is very enjoyable. Something about being on one ski
cool
Gorgeous, HOTTT!! ..not bad skiing either ;)
I was doing that at 12
lol no you weren’t
0:56 OMG imagine if she misses the cut! Brave little camera man 🤣
She is amazing for sure but did miss the start gate this pass.
SHE HOT!
I disagree. Ski landed just inside it
