"G3 N15" is for "Genís". Her nephew. She wrote that song for him during the pandemic. She was in the US making Motomami and She couldn't visit her family for 2 years. And She made that song for him talking about how much She misses him and loves him. The voice message I think it's ger grandmother actually speaking Catalán and not spanish. She is basically saying how important family is. First god, then family.
the translation itself is pretty good, the only detail is that it’s a little off sync to the audio. however, thank you for taking the time to do the spanish subtitles, it is appreciated :) also, you should check the previous rosalia’s projects, specially EL MAL QUERER, it’s a lyrical masterpiece.
i have a little recommendation for you, it is an artist called nathy peluso, born an Argentinian, grew up in Spain but she says she's basically from everywhere. her sound is so unique, so theatrical and so beautiful and seductive, i think you would like it a lot, since it's similar in some ways to what Rosalía does. Each song represents a chapter in the life of a this woman who goes through a bad marriage.

This album is so beautiful and fun I'm obsessed lol. In Cuutee she's telling artists to avoud haughtiness and stay humble and invites them to take a step outside their towers by telling them the greatest artist is God and that to experience the beauty of butterflies (which also ties to her theme of transformation) you have to step out into the street and be among the people. In La Combi Versace she continues that theme where she sings about wearing expensive designer clothing but also wearing fakes because it doesn't change who she is and she's open to exploring herself I think she implying she cares more about the artistry than the prestige associated with the cost of the clothing. I also love the little detail at the end of "Sakura" where she sings about the fleetingness of fame and then the song ends abruptly cutting off the cheering crowd very suddenly and without fanfare.

Just 1 song in to your reaction so far, Motomami is a mix of reggaeton with jazz, which in itself is really unheard of. Her label was actually against her doing this, but she pushed to get it made. Thanks, Luscent. I love Rosalía , She is always experimenting because she definetely loves Music, any kind of music, any time of music, any music people . She has been so brave! Since even when she had got the top with her previous and completely different works, she changes like a butterfly and becomes a new Rosalía. An authentic, deep and at the same time funny woman.
She wrote this album during pandemia, living in US for 2 years without being able to come back to Spain to see her family. All her emotions are described in the 16 dual songs, 8 moto, 8 mami You had a very good understanging even not having any info about her. Good job 😍
Sakura is not a real live, it was recorded in a special room belonging to producer friends of hers where you can physically adjust the space to create the exact echo you want. Totally sick! And the line actually reads "flames are pretty because they don't follow an order". There were other small translation mistakes but this is the only one that really bothered me. The concept of each song is so clearly communicated through the lyrics and song titles, it really shows how deliberate she is with every element in this album, but your familiarity with Japanese culture really gave you a beautiful perspective and understanding.
Díablo - is about how her fans, the same people that told her she was unique and put her on a pedestal judge her and resent her for exploring other genres. She’s telling them she’s still the same.
I really enjoyed this reaction! ❤️ I loved that you cried just by feeling the music without knowing the meaning! I cried every time I see someone reacting to this.
omg this was by far one of the best reactions of MOTOMAMI that they’re are on this platform. The way you got every song correct of what the meaning was, i was shocked. I loved the way you vibed to every song cz that’s how I feel when I listen to this album. Keep up the good work🥰🥰🥰
In the song "Diablo" she reaffirms herself before possessive fandom and haters, represented by the distorted childish voice, fawning on her only to immediately say "you have changed, you are not the one I used to know, you re a devil". Basically a dig at people who think her new songs are too weird or too reggaeton or too commercial and talk as if they owned her and were entitled to put her into a box and decide what is better for her to do with her voice.
I think you pretty much nailed it, and even if you could have missed different cultural and language aspects I want to thank you for the respect you showed, as not many people does it.
Saoko tells us about the transformation of Rosalía in this álbum. She became sucessful doing a flamenco fusion (like song Bulerías) with electronic music on her second album and It was so aclamaid and all the people expect things about her, she is doing an statement on the first song of motomami talking about transformation and tell us that never going to do the same music because she is experimentation and a butterfly (motomami icon)
Spot on, man! I've previously watched a very in-depth analysis of this album with commentary by Rosalia herself and it all adds up with your perception. I was also really curious how your interpretation would be since you come from a very different background. I love this.
You should definitely watch her interview with Jaime Altozano, I think that can give you a better idea of the concept of the album and some songs… most of them you’ve gotten them all right 🥰
Thank you so much! You made me cry... Some of her lyrics are hard to understand for us native speakers also. Combi Versace for example. But she stated that was intentional, the album is sometimes so personal that is difficult to get a grasp of the context or the references, but she said it was to allow a level of ambiguity that fuels your curiosity. I haven't red all the comments of course but nobody mentioned a familiarity to Lemonade and Beyonce, just in spirit maybe and the presence of The Weekend, James Blake, Pharrell Williams I don't know
CUUUUuuuuuute is about people (mostly other artists) who think that they can tell you what is art and what is not. That is why she says that the best artist is God. For example, some people criticized her for not singing flamenco in a traditional way.
Please react to her second album El Mal Querer, an album inspired in a medieval novel in which she mixes flamenco with electronic music, she made this album as an independent artist, it was her thesis for her degree on music and flamenco. With this album she won critical acclaim and made it to the mainstream
I absolutely loved your interpretation of Motomami album and loved to see your "surprise faces" while listening to the unexpected turns in her songs! :) Even though Rosalia's musical styles are far from my musical education (and are not my favs either), I totally agree with you: her voice is just incredibly sublte and conveys deep emotions... Plus, shes' able to mix many different styles and rhythms... it's really amazing! She transcends cultures. If you'd go deeper into her lyrics, you'd see her references are sooo rich, almost bibliographic!!! Another thing I just love about her is her "music collage" style - to call it someway - It is really awesome and unique: it has so many layers... and her production ideas are brilliant and original. Her songs are deeper than what you expect in the beginning. All these things are not found in other latin artists (*) I have one question: what did you mean by saying that "she is non-white", at 17:55 ? I didn't understand this part, if you'd be so kind to clarify it for me. :-) (*) I used the label "latin" influenced by the mainstream music categories, but she's not one and I think it's wrong to label her as such (she's European, not Latin-American). In her case, I think her music goes much further than all those stupid labels from music industry. We're in 2022 and it's a global world. No matter where you come from, you can be exposed to many different musical influences. I think it's about time that music categories change. Music should be valued by its quality, not by its language or by the singer's origin.
Delirio de Grandeza is actually a cover of a 1968 song of the same name by Justo Betancourt, a Cuban Son singer. La Fama is Bachata, from Dominican Republic. Bulerías is traditional Flamenco, which is Rosalia’s musical training background. this is why she has such amazing control of her voice 💓 in this song you can hear traditional flamenco intonation in the vocal technique she uses. Sakura was actually not recorded live - live audience recording was added after the fact to compliment the message of the song and as a tribute to live performances, in contrast to the isolation of covid during which this album was produced
I've been loving your reactions (found ur channel like a month ago) , and for this album in special, like dude you're getting (kinda) the lyrics just for the production, like your mind is so freaking amazing. Also your taste on music UFFFF I love it For her, El Mar Querer is her best project for sure, is just a masterpiece till the day. And if u like production wise, there's a dj call Arca, she has an album Kick ii and kick iii that are super amazing. She's friend of Rosalía and even have a song with her call klk but that's different... Arca has work with people like Kayne, Sia, Lady Gaga on her Down of chromatica, Bjork. If u want, take a chance on her. She's kinda all over the place, a different style of art. kinda weird but amazing.
Delirio de grandeza is a cover. Original belongs to Justo Betancourt. Rosalía wanted to sing bolero for the first time and she choose this classic piece.
The funny thing about Rosalia's songs is that we, spanish speaking people, don't understand the lyrics either haha and we're huge fans of her music, you can still enjoy it, and dance to it.
In Diablo she talks about the hate that she gets from "fans" because many say she has changed because her style is different from the past album, so the diablo voice is saying that the one in the TV is not the same they've known. In a lot of the album she talks about being herself and not wanting to be put in a single category, that's why she likes mixing different styles.
12:40 thats what its supposed to be like! Im not to much of an expert on this, but Bulerias is a type of flamenco which its really simple in terms of components and instruments being used. The men in the back are the people, the crowd clapping. Usually the main focus is a dancer. What bulerias lacks in instrumentation it makes up for in clever beat and tempo play.
It would be GREAT if you could watch Jaime Altozano’s interview with her and whoole musical analysis of the album. It’s in Spanish but it’s got English subtitles. It’s really useful to understand the decisions behind of each of the songs and their production process.
So "La Combi Versace" is the most dominican song in this album and me being from there, I just felt like I had to explain some of the words and phrases :) Starting from the title, which I think it is "La Combinación Versace" (The Versace Mix), and it makes sense since the song is about how these two girls ready to party and to spend come from low status neighbourhoods (Callejón or callejones here are part of the hood, they're small streets that connect bigger streets and parts of the city). Rosalia basically explains that you're the Versace, not the clothes, since she says that she "wears fake but still looks original" and Tokischa says "me doy un flow ropa de paca y me veo original" (i wear thrift shop clothes and i still look original) and that shes the most expensive brand that you can't ever get (capear is like to get in the dominican slang). But they also flex on how they were in a call with Milano and yadda yadda. At the end with the chops, basically Tokischa says "Paul Roman, Paul Roman, Paul Roman thongs (colaless or really small panties lmao), you can see my ass in Versace" and it doesn't say "Fuera" it literally says "Cuero del bajo mundo (Low-class bitch or Hood bitch)". Although she might actually be saying "fuera" but we are so used to Tokischa saying "cuero" on her songs lol.
A little bit more about Bulerías and Rosalia's life since its the most rooted on Spanish culture out of the whole album. Rosalía started out as a flamenco inspired singer, being Los Angeles (her first album) a mostly flamenco album. Then, she launched El Mal Querer, which mixed both her love for flamenco and regguetón, making tons of songs with a mix between the two, basically experimenting. But the flamenco enviroment is quite conservative, and she ended getting called all kinds of names and guetting tons of critique. Not only that, but after the success of the album she probably got even more critique, of being fake, of doing certain things to get to the top, and of not being a real flamenco singer now that she has all of these riches. Bulerías is a direct response to it all ("Soy igual de cantaora con un chandal de Versace que vestiíta de bailaora")
Diablo : there is 3 people singing, the autotune voice is a s kid ( Leyvan) he’s saying to her she’ve changed so she is a devil, lost her purity. Her first album was pure flamenco (Spanish as her) she has a stunning voice!! Then she started singing reaggeton wich is more Latin American, getting more main stream and international, so there was many comments in Spain saying she was not the same. I guess she is speaking about that 🤔😉 The other one is James Blake
Great reaction. I love Rosalía, she's so authentic and unique, can't wait for you to react to her second album "EL MAL QUERER". I think you'll love to follow the story that it has.
Saoko pretty much synthesis what the whole album is about both sonically and thematically. Which also kinda like a “self-portrait” of Rosalia. She’s done a video with a Spanish composer/producer in which they dissect every aspect of the album
You should check out her visual album El Mal Querer , as this one is a fun album but the previous one is the best introduction to her unique art form. Her first album Los Angeles is a beautiful flamenco offering. The second El Mal Querer is a fusion of traditional flamenco and modern music plus her experimentation with different sound effects, voice manipulation and other goodies. It's something else. Btw El Mal Querer was inspired by a 13th century novel "Flamenca". It's a story in chapter's, every song tells the progression of a bad love from beginning to it's tragic end. Love how much you get her. Awesome reaction.
All the exboyfriend references are to C.Tangana, another known spanish artist. They were dating and became famous in a song they made together called “Antes de morirme”(Before I die). There’s a long story to tell here, but theyre both in couple and sending messages eachother in their songs.
Moto also it’s the shorten of motorcycle which is the principal aesthetic theme of the album Reggaetón is the genre , saoko is the perfect description of the album showing the mix of rhythms, moto with the hard reggaetón beats, and the mami with the jazz, this case replicates in the whole album , it’s awesome tbh

I loved this reaction!!! You look like a very special person, love you. Hi from venezuela❤❤
I really enjoyed this reaction! ❤️ I loved that you cried just by feeling the music without knowing the meaning! I cried every time I see someone reacting to this.
as a spanish viewer, you got everything right, amazing video!!!
omg this was by far one of the best reactions of MOTOMAMI that they’re are on this platform. The way you got every song correct of what the meaning was, i was shocked. I loved the way you vibed to every song cz that’s how I feel when I listen to this album. Keep up the good work🥰🥰🥰
Bulerías is AMAZING!
Rosalia does what she wants, when she wants and how she wants and that she does it wonderfully. She is a goddess. 🌹🌹🌹
Rosalía: "Te quiero ride"
You: "uh te quiero, that means I love you haha"
You should definitely watch her interview with Jaime Altozano, I think that can give you a better idea of the concept of the album and some songs… most of them you’ve gotten them all right 🥰
Omg YOUR VOICE is so relaxing!!! Loveit :)
Aw thanks haha
I love the way u analize this! You realize every details! Should defenetly check out her other 2 albums. Best wishes from Chile
Loved your reaction!! Also your voice is incredibly soothing :)
Even though Rosalia's musical styles are far from my musical education (and are not my favs either), I totally agree with you: her voice is just incredibly sublte and conveys deep emotions...
All these things are not found in other latin artists (*)
I have one question: what did you mean by saying that "she is non-white", at 17:55 ? I didn't understand this part, if you'd be so kind to clarify it for me. :-)
(*) I used the label "latin" influenced by the mainstream music categories, but she's not one and I think it's wrong to label her as such (she's European, not Latin-American).
Sakura was actually not recorded live - live audience recording was added after the fact to compliment the message of the song and as a tribute to live performances, in contrast to the isolation of covid during which this album was produced
this was suuuch a good react, love how u connect to the music without speaking the language x
omg i love ur interpretation of everything and what u say and talk about. it’s so cool and unique
Man! Impressive how you caught many of the meanings, really cool.
You should check her previous work. It is less personal but really impressive.
I've been loving your reactions (found ur channel like a month ago) , and for this album in special, like dude you're getting (kinda) the lyrics just for the production, like your mind is so freaking amazing. Also your taste on music UFFFF I love it
For her, El Mar Querer is her best project for sure, is just a masterpiece till the day.
Cool thank you!! I heard one Arca song when I did my hyperpop video so would defo be interested in diving into their discography at some point!
@@Luscent I watch that video rn, I didn't know. Love it tho, we hope to see an album of her on your reactions. kick ii is pretty awesome to react ❤️
I loved your reaction!!! 💘💘💘
Delirio de grandeza is a cover. Original belongs to Justo Betancourt. Rosalía wanted to sing bolero for the first time and she choose this classic piece.
I enjoyd a lot your reaction, gracias 😁
The funny thing about Rosalia's songs is that we, spanish speaking people, don't understand the lyrics either haha and we're huge fans of her music, you can still enjoy it, and dance to it.
YESSSS! I love your reactions! Thank you for listening to ROSALÍA
Love your comments and your expressions …Rosalia’s voice is amazing 🤩
i HHAVE to comment this video. I loved your implication and passion into listening the music
Aw thank you! I loved it and I'm such a nerd for creative music haha
18:50 "maybe it's a love song" *laughs in spanish*
You nailed it with the interpretation and the meaning of the album ❤
I LOVE your passion...your reaction ❤️ Rosalía is art, true 🎶💓💓
One of the best reactions, also the first person I’ve seen understand the lyrics
It would be GREAT if you could watch Jaime Altozano’s interview with her and whoole musical analysis of the album. It’s in Spanish but it’s got English subtitles. It’s really useful to understand the decisions behind of each of the songs and their production process.
Such a great reaction video! You nailed it!
So "La Combi Versace" is the most dominican song in this album and me being from there, I just felt like I had to explain some of the words and phrases :)
Starting from the title, which I think it is "La Combinación Versace" (The Versace Mix), and it makes sense since the song is about how these two girls ready to party and to spend come from low status neighbourhoods (Callejón or callejones here are part of the hood, they're small streets that connect bigger streets and parts of the city).
Rosalia is a genius and true artist
This comment section really passes the vibe check! Great job btw with your comment as well x
I guess she is speaking about that 🤔😉
The other one is James Blake
I love to hea r your voice' makes me feel relax. Thank u 💕
The rhythm on "La Fama" With The Weeknd, is called "Bachata" ❤️ a really famous latin rhythm
Ah yeah I recognise the name!
Your voice is really relaxing
this guys voice......... heaven
Great reaction. I love Rosalía, she's so authentic and unique, can't wait for you to react to her second album "EL MAL QUERER". I think you'll love to follow the story that it has.
Congratulations, I think you understand absolutely well this album
Saoko pretty much synthesis what the whole album is about both sonically and thematically. Which also kinda like a “self-portrait” of Rosalia. She’s done a video with a Spanish composer/producer in which they dissect every aspect of the album
Great reaction! You should jump into her previous album as you will understand this one even more. Another beautiful journey El Mal Querer album.
Congratulatios! You really know what you do, amazing how you describe the song without knowing Spanish
It is truly so so good! Haven’t stopped listening to it since it came out 🤯❤️🌈
All the exboyfriend references are to C.Tangana, another known spanish artist. They were dating and became famous in a song they made together called “Antes de morirme”(Before I die). There’s a long story to tell here, but theyre both in couple and sending messages eachother in their songs.
Moto also it’s the shorten of motorcycle which is the principal aesthetic theme of the album
Reggaetón is the genre , saoko is the perfect description of the album showing the mix of rhythms, moto with the hard reggaetón beats, and the mami with the jazz, this case replicates in the whole album , it’s awesome tbh
I LOVE Rosalía desde Tenerife un abrazo
I love your reactionsssssss.
You nailed it! 👌❤️
really watching the end of your viedeo you are so ACCURATE
"Delirio de Grandeza" is a cover from an old bolero (same title) sang by a man to a woman
Great job reviewing this album. I love Rosalía.
FANTASTIC READING OF THE MEANING of the songs WITHOUT the lyrics. really good way of feeling the songs. this message comes from a super fan of rosalia, spaniard girl :)
