This helps a lot, my pattern just says, 'decrease into v-neck, keeping the pattern of the arm side the same', which as a beginner, wasn't very useful. I think I may use a large safety pin to eliminate the need for the 3rd needle.
this works without a third needle on circular needles! just pull your left needle out a little and half of the stitches will be "held" on the cable, which means you won't have to transfer stitches back later too. source: i tried this lol
Thank you so much ! Yes very clear .. can you do a video showing you decreasing on the both sides at the same time like you mentioned?? I think that would be awesome 🎉
Thank you for this excellent, clear demonstration for making a V-neck. I am stuck trying to understand how to make a ROUND neck shaping on the front of a raglan pullover (bottom up, pieces) ... on which I will add a neckband later. My pattern (vintage, 70's, old) is very confusing, but your instructions are very clear. Do you offer a video showing us how to shape a round neck opening ? Many thanks!
Sure, i would love to make such a video. However I am not very fast when it comes to creating these videos. Hope it will still be useful to you once I finish it.
You are an excellent teacher! I’m Supposing you always start with an even amount of stitches and find the middle so even amount of stitches both sides. Yes?
I do not own 3 needles of the same size, can I use a lifeline instead of a 3rd needle? Can I transfer the stitches on a lifeline, knit the first side then transfer the stitches on the lifeline and go on?
To be honest, I haven't tried using lifelines, or I haven't seen anyone do that for V necks. But, it sounds like it could work. Please let me know if you try it. Good luck. 🥰
Jan 4, 2025.... thanks so so much !! This is the first time for a v neck..... you have made it so simple !
Your comment made me so happy! Have a great day 💐

Safety pin sounds like a good idea! Please let me know how it goes 👍🏻
theo nly video that really explained everything very clear!!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh thank you. It makes me so happy to know that the video was useful 💐💐💐
This is such a nice tutorial for a simple V neck. I think instead of K2TOG on the left sided of V neck, so the stitch leans to the left, use SSK.
Thanks, and thanks for the tip. I want to knit myself a V neck summer top soon, I will try to use SSK on the left side. 👍
Excellent explanation! very clear and helpful, thank you so much 🙏
So glad to hear that 💐💐 thanks
It's very good explanation, I think that will help me. You can also use a lost thread instead of the third needle, so it's less bulky
That's a great idea, thank you 👌🏼

Hi the pattern was really helpful
I was wondering why you skip the first stitch is it really necessary
No, definitely not necessary. I do it because I am used to it, I think the edge looks better that way. You can also knit the first stitch 💐
Easy to understand. Thank you
Thanks 🙏🏼
