This was a wonderful analysis & review! You put in a lot of time and effort that is seen with much bigger TH-camrs. You're definitely on your way to growing as a channel. :) Here are some of my responses regarding questions you had in the video; -Firstly, the models are legal, they are not actually from those games; but rather inspired. You see, the models came from a commercial 3d model pack for an engine known as FPSC. The pack is called "fpsc model pack 52 - viral outbreak", this also explains why they appear in other indie games. -The Campaign was certainly limited, and rather.. dull (walking simulator). At the time I was using a Unity3D plugin called "Adventure Creator" that was very limited with what you could do. This heavily restricted the gameplay. -I originally planned for the robot in the mountains to become a companion, but I was short on time. -Slendytubbies at heart, is and always will be a parody. It was never meant to be taken seriously. Over the years horror on TH-cam became less and less popular, I felt like we had to adapt to keep it relevant. This is why it feels a lot less like a horror game. -I personally believe the game modes "Survival" and "Sandbox" are keeping the game alive and well today. -At the time I was a big fan of killing floor and just wanted to re-make it for fun! -Regarding the music, none of it was copyrighted at the time of purchase. We purchased the licenses for the music legally, however; issues arose when one of the authors decided to add their music to youtube's copyright system in hopes to steal money from community videos, uncool. -More and more glitches appeared in multiplayer as we tried to patch the game from hackers, they do enjoy ruining the experience for others. It's a shame that so much time has been put into this series only for people to try and ruin it for everyone. -The game series without question is sloppy in some areas, but you have to remember that I was just a teenager making it, just one guy with no funding. I've learned a lot from making the Slendytubbies series and I'm happy to say that my game development skills have improved tremendously over the years. I hope you'll stick around for our next game (the bear project). It's our first serious take on a game! Thanks for your video, it brought back a lot of memories. :) Slendytubbies 2 is my favourite game out of them all!
Thanks for the comment on my friends video, been a fan of the series for a couple years myself. Thanks for taking the time to inform us about some questions we had. (I also think the second game is the best)
Ay I love your game, it’s super cool. It’s got such cool mechanics, such as when escaping Tinky Winky you press the arrow keys to the ones on the screen. And mechanics matching appearances, such as Laa Laa can’t see you unless you make noises since she has no eyes. And I love how you partially include lore such as when arriving in the cave there’s drawings of the maze tubby and mountain tubby along with cave tubby as pre mutation. Hopefully you can add more enemies such as the “abusers” of the best friend trio! Also a question: Did you make the popups from Slendytubbies 1 and 2?
I think Slendytubbies is a pretty good series brought down by it’s premise. There are some good scares but no matter how bad it gets there’s always a sense of humility due to the fact you’re playing Slenderman Teletubby. However that’s also the reason it has such a large fan base, if kids like anything it’s edgy horror games that aren’t scary. I’m not sure if it would be better or not if it had OCs but the story wouldn’t make as much sense and it wouldn’t be anywhere near as popular. On the topic of the review itself I think it was very good. The jokes were consistently funny and the explanation of the story was entertaining. The amount of inside jokes and references to things was excellent and makes it fun to watch on a whole new level. It’s so clear that you have a large amount of passion towards the Slendytubbies series and video making in general. I’m happy to have been a part of this project, even if it was just for a small segment.
I'm pretty sure children are the reason Pewdiepie's channel has more than 7 subscribers, and why TinyBuild keeps begging for a Game Theory episode made on Hello Neighbor. I don't agree with fandoms shaping the videogames they're based off of, except for Undertale or Slender where the games are relatively walking simulators and in Undertale's case, it's got a massive amount of following due to it's AUs and it's fern atmosphere. It almost makes me nostalgic, thinking about how Megalovania was such a big meme back in 2017. Slendytubbies will always bring me comfort as it's one if the few Slenderman ripoff series that have a massive cultural following and an outstanding type of passion by the developers. The reason it was so different because it made a new name, and people were interested in the story, kinda like FNaF. Even Markiplier played it. I personally think Slendytubbies is the best horror passion project in the 10's, and I'm glad it existed to begin with.
How did a 5 year old with a walmart mic make a better video documentary than 99% of modern game documentaries. This video is soooo good, I laughed way to hard multiple times, the editing is so good
@@kimyonasqd8690 I know but this comment was made 3 weeks ago, long after he went through puberty, this person is just being a jackass for the heck of it
It's cool to see that such a young person starts doing some content spending a lot of time to make montage, write the text and analyze the whole series so thoroughly. Keep growing as a content maker!
@@ihaveaname3403 i wouldn't call it "wholesome" but the kid has a very nice to hear script for people like me who likes play something while listening. And have good visuals for people watching. Also i like how he uses memes a lot, but not enough memes to make the video slighty annoying.. like a certain lego man. :p
This video feels like a kid who's watched youtube documentaries for a long while now and wanted to try his hand at it and dedicated himself to it. Props to the quality editing, it feels like there might be a new wave of quality youtubers arriving soon and you're one of the first ones.
Personally, I think the Cave is the, if not, one of the scariest sections in the campaign. From the ambience to the uncanny monster design, the Cave did everything right when doing horror, *especially* with the horrifying and sickening idea of what happened to the Cave Tubby before it mutated into it's current state, found via the notes. To think how many times it was electrocuted before infection is more than enough to give me shivers, no wonder it's face is distorted as it is... lord knows how painful it was given it has a dangling eye plus a big ass mouth, imagine how loud it screamed... But besides that, I loved your analysis and review of the game(s), Slendytubbies holds a really big place in my heart and I'm more than happy to find a genuinely good (and funny!) review on the franchise.
The editing, commentary, and even the random noise bits. Could this be the son of TH-cam sensation Pyrocynical who had surpassed a quarter of a million subscribers, 250,000 subscribers and still growing.
such a good video, I'm having a great ol' time every time I rewatch it. thank you sournale, you brought the interest in this series back to a lot of people
Good To See a Kid Making Documentaries With The Level Of Quality Of a Adult Edit: Good to see a kid making documentaries with the level of quality of a adult
As someone who was in the ST3 community since 2017 Let me tell you something It kinda felt apart due to alot of drama and shit happening in the community But I'm pretty glad Sean is going for another road on the gaming category type
I had absolutely no idea there was drama in the ST3 community, please tell me more. I’m making a follow up video later in the summer so maybe I might talk about this if it’s interesting enough.
@@Sournale Hey, old and still fan of ST3. From what I remember, one of the developers was being pressured by fans and eventually got so stressed out, he left the project and took the DLC with him (since he was it's main developer)
@@Komachichuu ah yeah I feel bad for Santikun Apparently he left the community But still, alot of people or kids still ask him if he's in the st3 community which honestly is very annoying

Im coming here 1 year late to say that TTT thumbnail is comedy gold. This is a very well made video and im glad my footage was useful and just taking a quick look at your recent content i really encourage you to keep going. Im grateful for Slendytubbies because not only is a cool yet also fucked up concept to mix a kids show (that i watched when i was a young chubby child) and a horror game about a tall man who stalks people. It also helped my channel grow for a good while. Slendytubbies 2 is the best game of the series and no one will convince me otherwise. Whereas Slendytubbies 1 is purple man t-posing towards you, Slendytubbies 2D is a cute little minigame thing and Slendytubbies 3 is basically bootleg Last of Us lore. Slendytubbies 2 is a nightmare made in heaven. Everything about that game is so GOOD! The maps, the enemies and the sounds are what makes the game so special to me especially since it's the first game of the series i played. Watching this video does give a bit of motivation to make my own documentary video on the game series and like share my own thoughts and opinions which is something i wanted to do since 2019 but i don't know if it's worth it since not only am i busy making future plans for my channel but this video is already a perfect documentary of the series. In the end im happy to have stumbled upon this masterpiece of a video talking about a broken masterpiece of a game.
the fact this man sounds so young but then next year hes just a full blown chad edit: mom im famous! dad come back with that milk! look at all of these likes!11!
I’m gonna be honest, Slendytubbies 3 was like a story driven game, more than a horror game. I love the fact it’s just Slendytubbies 2 with better graphics, and with a story, that’s why I still like it to this day. Oh, another thing, the other game modes being such a messed up- buggy mess is what makes it so much fun and what makes it funny. I like the way it is.
@@jking4854 it’s definitely updated in a sense, isn’t it? The atmosphere being ruined, yeah, I can agree with that. But I think the art got just a little better than it did in 2. The monsters kind of downgraded in looks though, besides Laa-Laa.
Sometimes in Slendytubbies I, I'd go into a lobby with the limit of 40 people, use the crouching animation where it just squishes the character model, run to the mountains, jump on those borders and just look down at the screaming purple coward who can't have the thought to try and glide over. It's a jolly good time when I have nothing else to do.
Very nice to watch this since i was in the zeoworks community from 2013. Although the models were not stolen. They were purchased from a unity package that had models based on these games. Sadly, the servers of Slendytubbies 2 were shut down last year because of hackers basically ruining the game. Most players now have hacked clients that will make the game unplayable if the servers were ever back.
It’s actually fucking crazy that a 14-year-old child was actually actually made one of the greatest videos I’ve ever seen on this platform because I remember seeing so many TH-camrs play this game back in the day and it was just an nostalgia overload and I commend you dearly for that thank you
Your sense of humor is *gold,* my guy. As an 18yo, I'm only halfway & I've laughed so many times despite trying not to. That and your editing makes you a keeper. Also as a black person, my radar is off lol. Glad to see a young black content creator thriving out of such talent. So pat yourself on the back. I'm totally subscribing.
31:59, I believe that the infection has been around longer than just a day, it could've been around for a lot longer. And only just reach the Main Lands through Noo-Noo. Because it's obvious that the Yeti Tubby and Cave Tubby have been there longer than a day or two.
I have always known how stupid these games were but slendytubbies as always been my comfort. I use to love these games a lot , I would draw all the characters everyday and watch gameplay too. revisited the game a few days ago and these games still scare me to this day. I use to get nightmares about the game but it was worth it. Overall I still love this game no matter how absolutely stupid it was
It's a stupid concept on paper, but it's executed SO perfectly. Heck, don't jump me; but I actually love Slendytubbies more than FNAF... I am not joking.
I'm a bit late, but this is a really good video. The editing is great, the jokes are really funny and remind me of Pyrocynical, and I agree with most of your criticism. Any sane person who looks at the games nowadays can see how badly designed and dogshit they are, but people just cling to them because they have a certain charm to them. The game's fanbase consists of toddlers, and people who were toddlers when they first found out about Slendytubbies, and now they're sticking around for the nostalgia.
I have this fond memory of being really sick and laying on my bed in my old house and suddenly discovering about Slendytubbies and then just binge watching this one Play through and looking at animations and stuff
My guy really went and made a 40 minute documentary on a horror fangame franchise, and it's hella good quality too. This kid's got potential, hope you make it far :)
When this showed up in my recommended feed, I clicked on it out of morbid curiosity, not expecting much out of it, but honestly this is really good. It’s a good breakdown of a game experience I’ve never heard of before, and honestly the editing was fantastic. Very snappy, doesn’t dwell too long on any moment, but also doesn’t get excessively quick to make it difficult digest. The voice over was also very solid, despite how young the voice is, it is to the point and succinct. Very well done and I look forward to seeing more like this!
Ah my man, this st video was a "fresh air" those 45 minutes felt like 10, the edition and the way you express it's just something that i needed to see as part of this comunnity.
The editing in this video is incredibly entertaining. I'm genuinely impressed, good job. Also, I love the little tongue-in-cheek joke at 8:38 "Yo this edible, ain't shi-"
I remember watching gameplay of the first SlendyTubbies game on Markiplier's channel and being scared shitless because of it. I didn't even know that it had a sequel, let alone a third installment. It always felt like a one-off to me.
Dude, This is by far one of the greatest slendytubbies videos i have ever seen. I see how much effort was put in this video, I'm glad that people like you give slendytubbies the attention it deserves, Thanks for the awesome video. Also I'm surprised you didn't mention how OP the camera was in slendytubbies 2, You could literally zoom it to see all the way to the other end of the map!
I love these games, they are so much fun. its a shame that one day this series will be over but zeoworks is working on a spiritual successor in the form of the bear project.
I watched it when it was called "Slendytubbies is a bad but charming masterpiece" and I'm glad this and your channel has gotten way more popular since then
While these games do have their charms, there *are* some gripes to be had, and since I lack the filespace, time and crap to give, I'll just list em here in order of game: Slendytubbies 1: The game feels like a living tech demo, but considering the game was nothing more than a silly parody, I'm willing to let my quality issues slide. Some *actual* problems in gameplay though, are how Tinky Winky works (When chasing he'll use a stock scream and warp around a bunch, and once his stock scream is over... if you're still in his chase radius you die?), the Screamers (only the one of tiny tinky adds to the gameplay since it indicates when you're near him), and the uselessness of the flashlight, since none of the maps are dark, but instead absurdly foggy. Slendytubbies 2: The game visually looks... so much better. As much as it's Doom 3 levels of shiny, that shininess adds to the tension since it makes these Tubbies feel much fleshier... however they're admirably pathetic to deal with since unless it's Chainsaw Dipsy, their attack is pathetically easy to evade. Also, the screamers are back, and "spookier" this time, but really they're nothing more than a distraction that can make running mildly disorienting. Overall definitely a step up but it's still a clearly flawed experience. I really wish they kept the authentic look Slendytubbies 2 had of making things fleshy and shiny. Right? Body horror? Slendytubbies 2D: Fundamentally broken. Good title music though. Slendytubbies 3: Oooh boy, I did NOT play the Campaign outside of the endings for a reason since I knew it was primarily a walking simulator. I only did the final chapter and... I personally *love* the Announcer and Po boss battles. They aren't *hard* since the game spawns healing items around during the fight, so I can just run around a bunch if I'm losing, but the fights never got boring or tedious, since you have to watch the boss' cues to know their attacks, it's very Hack N Slash and I fucking LOVE EM for that. My only complaint is they are criminally underused. I really hope there's some sorta "sequel" that builds upon the Chainsaw combat mechanics. Even a fangame. Slendytubbies 3 Multiplayer: You know how much I love Hack N Slash? Well wadda ya know, I love fast-paced FPS games even more, which this game gives. It's so fucken satisfying fighting the bosses in Survival/Sandbox. Really, really solid gameplay. Probably the peak in terms of gameplay in my opinion.
Seeing this honestly makes me feel like I have no excuse for not making a great video or any in general, and yet here I am being absolutely envious that a youngster managed to make a 40 minute video of a franchise, reviewing which was the best to worst, and having (in my taste) pretty funny edits. My favorite part is how he mentioned hearing a toxic couple argue was a decent bonus when he was playing Slendytubbies 2D
I absolutely adore that a 40 minute video exists out here, it feels so good to know that this super weird concept of a game impacted the childhood of so many people. I guess it makes me feel less of an outcast? Anyhow, great video man.
Slendytubbies 3 was the first Slendytubbies game I was introduced to, and the only one that I ever actually gained interest in. Watching this video reminded me that this series was even a thing, and the nostalgia was really nice! Also, the fanart flashing at certain points absolutely brought memories back for me, and not in a completely good way lol I know I'm very late to the party, but great video!
This is a really amazing video and is especially detailed. I do have a few nitpicks but its really minor things. Great analysis and in fact this is so good I am going to be using this video as reference material for my own Slendytubbies related project. Amazing video man!
I remember discovering Markiplier play this when I was younger, it instantly stuck out because of how odd it was and the dark visualizations and what not… This game has always been highly surreal to me, yet nostalgic (despite discovering this when I was around 6-7 a few years back) I even remembered seeing ST2 for the first time and seeing all the main 4 going from dead to horrific monsters I could go on and on but my memory doesn’t pick up on these past events
Also quick note the part where you start the intro of the second one I loved it. The fact that you played that guys rap and the theme as well as the screaming people that was a amazing combo you go dude👍
I personally love the slendy tubbies series, just the lore and how they dealt with the characters was done perfectly in my opinion, I can see why people think it’s bad but to me it’s decent and nostalgic.
This is undeniably a pretty great video covering the topic, even I got invested in this... stuff, back in the day. Slendytubbies is something I like to define: "a thing of monstrous beauty"
I want to thank you all a lot for 1000 views, so far only one of my videos has surpassed that milestone but now the slendytubbies video has reached it. I’ll think about making more long and funny videos like this but it needs time
God I just remember being terrified of this game back then. I think I was like 10 at the time and could not sleep right and just felt horrible. This game is just true horror and I loved it for that.
I can't believe this was uploaded just 3 years ago, the voice change from then to now is extremely insane, but the quality is still as good as always, peak
Dude your script writing and video editing is great! I love this analysis, it brought back so much nostalgia. Laughed a lot, i cant wait to see more of your work!
This week I've been very busy with school work and exams, and this video's commentary has been very nice to listen to in another tab while I do my tasks. Your narrating and script writing abilities are just fenomenal! I've probably listened to this video in its entirety like 7 times at this point lol.
The amount of times i watched this video years ago and FINNALY finding it again after losing it. Loved this Documentary, loved your Voice, loved the way it was edited, just everything is well done (expect the mic, but that brings up the video in its own weird sense of way)
I had my volume low at first, then I turned it on and I was surprised that a kid of/around 11 or 12 years old was able to do such an interesting video. Not even I have ever done such a great documentary! But I will try. He (or they, to be respectful towards his gender and pronouns) has put all his effort, used his motivation to do such video! Even kids can do big things, not only grown ups. He put his own voice on a huge social platform of entertainment where millions and millions of people can hear him. He managed to even make it quite funny, even if based on a horror game and parody of a children's cartoon and scary game Slenderman. He got all the information and experience that he needed, and put it all together to create this masterpiece, and then just gave it a title and posted it on TH-cam. Even if he had thoughts. I just have to say, great job. It really made me laugh, it was interesting and a good handmade video.
35:19 I feel there's missed potential in Noo Noo. They could've made him manipulate The Guardian at first to lure him into a trap or get what he wants. Like tell The Guardian he was kidnapped by one of the infected and needs his help. Then at the very end, he would sic an infected at Guardian before running away. The True Villian Speech should've come at The End Chapter.
One thing I need to point out, sorry for the replaced music at 2:14. I got a copyright strike and I want to eventually monetize this video when I reach the watch time hours and 1k subs If you wanna see what it originally sounded like, here. th-cam.com/video/_98W-FSLpbs/w-d-xo.html
I fondly remember being part of this community. I joined around the ST2 era and I met a lot of good friends there, some of which are still with me till this day. I made original character don't steals and did some weird roleplay stuff, but I was having a blast with these people. I think even one of the ZeoWorks fellas was in my group. I don't remember which one, but he was a Spanish speaker and absolutely hated the word Walten. Their TH-cam channel profile picture was actually drawn by one of my friends which is interesting I guess. I ended up leaving after Slendytubbies 3 release. It was a kinda small good group until it exploded in popularity. I'm glad for the creators of course but it wasn't my thing. But outside of the Facebook group I loved playing the games, specially on multiplayer. It was so creepy, and chaotic, and fun. I'll never forget this game Mountain Rick Roll
Gosh, I loved Slendytubbies back then, I remember playing it even years after its release, introducing new friends to it and playing it in a group, good times, after Slendytubbies 2 the franchise went downhill, but I liked the remaster of the first one quite a lot
I'm no fan of long videos, so when I watch one 'til the very end, that means something. Good job, mate. A lot of quality on that one! I'll be sure to come back for more!
okay i know that this video is old, but slendytubbies 1 and 2 is my favorite type of slender horror game. it's stupid and it has some bugs in there but it is enjoyable. even if it's an old game, it's still great. slendytubbies 3 is fine and all but 1 and 2 is probably the best for me, the series made slender never die off. i get nostalgia vibes from this to this day. thanks zeoworks.

wow, didn't really think i'd see a video on slendytubbies of all things. i made a pretty massively successful fangame around it (the thumbnail of which is used at 3:39 funnily enough!) and my history with the franchise goes back all the way to the release of the original. while i wished more of its horror elements stayed for slendytubbies 3, i'll always be thankful for what zeoworks has created over the years. slendytubbies 2 was always my favorite one, so many memories with that one

HOLY SHIT SOMEBODY ELSE WITH A DARKEST DUNGEON AFFLICTION PROFILE PIC
ok
For this and many more things, Claw Tubby was my favorite character/infected in the game

It kinda felt apart due to alot of drama and shit happening in the community
But I'm pretty glad Sean is going for another road on the gaming category type
I had absolutely no idea there was drama in the ST3 community, please tell me more. I’m making a follow up video later in the summer so maybe I might talk about this if it’s interesting enough.

It's a jolly good time when I have nothing else to do.

I watched it when it was called "Slendytubbies is a bad but charming masterpiece" and I'm glad this and your channel has gotten way more popular since then
While these games do have their charms, there *are* some gripes to be had, and since I lack the filespace, time and crap to give, I'll just list em here in order of game:
Slendytubbies 1: The game feels like a living tech demo, but considering the game was nothing more than a silly parody, I'm willing to let my quality issues slide.
In 33:50 you got me off guard there with the Call of Duty joke
I absolutely adore that a 40 minute video exists out here, it feels so good to know that this super weird concept of a game impacted the childhood of so many people. I guess it makes me feel less of an outcast? Anyhow, great video man.

Slendytubbies 3 was the first Slendytubbies game I was introduced to, and the only one that I ever actually gained interest in. Watching this video reminded me that this series was even a thing, and the nostalgia was really nice! Also, the fanart flashing at certain points absolutely brought memories back for me, and not in a completely good way lol

This is a really amazing video and is especially detailed. I do have a few nitpicks but its really minor things. Great analysis and in fact this is so good I am going to be using this video as reference material for my own Slendytubbies related project. Amazing video man!
I remember discovering Markiplier play this when I was younger, it instantly stuck out because of how odd it was and the dark visualizations and what not…
This game has always been highly surreal to me, yet nostalgic (despite discovering this when I was around 6-7 a few years back)
I even remembered seeing ST2 for the first time and seeing all the main 4 going from dead to horrific monsters
I could go on and on but my memory doesn’t pick up on these past events
Also quick note the part where you start the intro of the second one I loved it. The fact that you played that guys rap and the theme as well as the screaming people that was a amazing combo you go dude👍
I personally love the slendy tubbies series, just the lore and how they dealt with the characters was done perfectly in my opinion, I can see why people think it’s bad but to me it’s decent and nostalgic.
