This was sooo needed for my Japanese WIP I’ve had to do so many twisted pearls and can’t believe I barely found your channel and thank you for this awesome tip
Thank you SO much. Up until now I've always avoided patterns that call for purling through the back loop because they're so awkward for me to do. This opens up a lot of new things for me!
Is this just eastern (Russian) knitting? I only knit this way. Having trouble with having them not being twisted when doing this in rows which wouldn’t be so bad, except I’m knitting socks and it it’s in both rounds and rows.
Hi Lauren. Yes, Eastern knitting makes stitches twist when we work in the round, but the stitches shouldn't be twisted when we work back and forth. Here's a video that shows how to make a knit stitch - th-cam.com/video/B043cZB2PdM/w-d-xo.html, and here's a video that shows how to make a purl stitch - th-cam.com/video/eB42VjLzFuY/w-d-xo.html If you knit and purl that way, the stitches will be nice and even, but only when you work flat. To untwist stitches when we work in the round, we should switch to a classic knitting style. Happy knitting :-)
Another wizardry technique from maryna! I learned the quick and easy ssk's from her and use it constantly. Thanks!!!
Thank you, Joy 🙏
