Because it travels back to the futurism of the past. I recently got into Arctic Monkeys during the pandemic, and I haven't been the same. Every album, they reinvent their sound in a way that feels fresh and exciting, but still true to their roots. I've listened to all of their albums and own five of their CDs, I love them all, but TBHC just completely blew me away. The lyrics are dripping with rich, metaphoric lyrics that reveal poignant themes about isolation, capitalism, and how technology and social media affects our society. Every time I listen to it, I find something new to love about it. It's complex, and witty, its swanky and ethereal, and fully makes you feel like a washed-out singer in a glamourous moon hotel during the 1970s and 2170s simultaneously.
To the people that said that this was Alex's solo project, I think the footage provides enough evidence against that. You can see everyone is invested in the progression and making of the album. This album was a concept album which means Alex had a certain sound and theme he was trying to create to get the story told properly and the band put their own twist on the sound leading to the final product. I think the whole “this is an Alex turner solo album” and “this is a full collaboration of he band” both have some truth and much like everything in life the real answer lies somewhere in between. his vocal range is stunning, it's so cool to look back at being a teenager and blasting their music, to this time, appreciating the melody and magic of their development and growing. new album is an absolute masterpiece, rich and mystic, love their approach!
This album is sincerely a MASTERPIECE! The Monkeys just keep getting better and better and never cease to amaze me with their music! It's really a shame that the majority of the people won't take the time to understand this magnificent album...
Hey, you fuck. I was further agreeing to Martin's comment by expressing a exaggerated take on MY opinion. Jesus christ you are childish. Probably bc you are a child. Physically and or mentally. Get a life.
I just noticed that a AM was inspired by the 50's and greasers and such but I feel like they implemented a lot of 70's themes into the Tranquility album. I absolutely love how calming this album is compared to last one which was more fast paste. It's really cool how they can just change their theme and style of music on a whim yet still sound like it was made by Arctic Monkeys and that's why I love this band. They always have something new.
These guys give me strong Beatles vibes... the style, the aesthetic, the evolution of music, the evolution of taste, the *Englishness* .... hopefully one day they'll get the same recognition
4:45 don't mind me Remember that time you woke up at 2 am and for some reason, decided to watch this again. You went down stairs pretending no one's home, made a cup of coffee and 'sang / whispered' star treatment until you couldn't stay awake no more...
Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino is Arctic Monkeys "Pet Sounds". Given that it was heavily inspired by it, it marks a shift in the AM dynamic and now they have entered a realm where they'll no longer cater to fans but cater to themselves and create art.
@@seanieizcool i don't think this is gonna make them millionaires tbh lol AM already did it, cause it was way more huge than this. This is more of like artistic masterpiece than the commercial success.
Sometimes I listen to songs and wish I could have been there during the recording session to experience the energy from everyone jamming and having a good time, 7:35 looks like one of those moments. I wish they'd release that jam-rendition of 4 stars, such a beautiful riff!
Other than the maturity in songwriting and the lyrics that seem to blend political satire, lofty fictitious ideas and irreverence - What I love about this album is the 60s/70s sounds. It fits what they are doing so well and imho is a breath of fresh air when compared to the 80s nostalgia many other bands are invoking.
I honestly love this so damn much. I love listening to the songs in the making, I love watching them jam out and all synced up, I love seeing how much fun they're having, well, maybe except for JAMEH (Jamie), I love their friendship, sense of humour (we all got memed at 10:33, there's also that trick that Alex has been doing with his cigarette, pretty sure it started since the "You & I" video, not to mention the silly dancing and singing afterwards).. I just wanted to be one of the Monkeys..

10:34 that synth part is one of the most beautiful things i have ever heard in my life
his vocal range is stunning, it's so cool to look back at being a teenager and blasting their music, to this time, appreciating the melody and magic of their development and growing. new album is an absolute masterpiece, rich and mystic, love their approach!
They played this months back in NYC at their Tranquility Base pop-up shop. So glad it's finally up on TH-cam.
This album is sincerely a MASTERPIECE! The Monkeys just keep getting better and better and never cease to amaze me with their music! It's really a shame that the majority of the people won't take the time to understand this magnificent album...
I was so excited after the Dream Synopsis EP for things Alex would do with his voice in the future and I'm not disappointed one bit
FINALLY B SIDE. I also hope they release instrumentals for this album. It is pure sex
Honestly its 200% more cacophonous w alex's rambling lyrics. I have a deeper appreciation now I've heard the instrumentals.
They always have something new.
fast paste
@@mmhoss ikr
i’d love for them to do something involving the 30s or 40s like more jazzy sort of
fast paste
listen to the album Serge Gainsbourg - Initials B.B
This Arctic Monkeys' album is really nostalgic, but this video made me feel even more nostalgia
I honestly think TBHC is a modern masterpiece. It is lyrically stunning and very underrated musically.
These guys give me strong Beatles vibes... the style, the aesthetic, the evolution of music, the evolution of taste, the *Englishness* .... hopefully one day they'll get the same recognition
Wasn’t a huge fan of this album an initially but man has it grown on me.. looking forward to the vinyl release and their future releases
Alex wearing a clockwork orange t-shirt just confirms this album was based on Kubrick :D
All this confirms is that he likes Kubrick.
or Bowie, he also referred to both space (space oddity) and clockwork orange (girl loves me)
Suck it and see did it first
Yup. Busted.
the sheer amount of talent in this video is mindblowing. im in awe.
I did not want this video to end! :´(
love
It has become a tradition to come back here every couple of months
Sopa do macaco
What did I even do to deserve the instrumentals of golden trunks
Listen to TBH&C
I’m glad someone appreciated that as much as I did
AM are generous gods
6:22 me in the shower for 30 minutes straight
lmao exactly me, also
Yas but only louder😂
So true.
It's even better when the echo is just right
I can relate to 4:05 better
4:45 don't mind me
Remember that time you woke up at 2 am and for some reason, decided to watch this again. You went down stairs pretending no one's home, made a cup of coffee and 'sang / whispered' star treatment until you couldn't stay awake no more...
I’m so grateful because it’s 12 minutes long but I’m so sad because it’s only 12 minutes long
the people who say that this album it's one of their worst are so very wrong, this album is just a masterpiece
I was just trying to orbit the sun and this notification came... I didn't expect that
Yeah me too.. I was just about to be kind to someone..
@@omermarom6592 Don't worry you'll get another chance
Yeah, I just hope the politics won't come along next time
when the notification made you gaze at the earth from outer space
did it wipe that stupid look off of your face?
@@omermarom6592 you had the chance...
I remember watching this in their exhibition in Sheffield
the amount of work that goes into making even one song is insane
It must be great for Alex to have friends who are willing to complete your ideas 👌
No. You're wrong
Stu D sorry what
Stu D no he‘s totally right. You think that matt, nick or jamie had any influence in the writing process? No!!
It must also be great to have someone who is willing to play the bass.
Poor Alex
Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino is Arctic Monkeys "Pet Sounds". Given that it was heavily inspired by it, it marks a shift in the AM dynamic and now they have entered a realm where they'll no longer cater to fans but cater to themselves and create art.
this album has grown into me in such a way I will hold it dear to me forever
7:50 poor Jamie is so sad playing that one key, looks like Mr. Bean at the 2012 Olympics.
The High Ground omg I’m crying 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
OH GOD AHAHAHAHA
Savage 😆
tbf jamie always looks like he wants to castrate himself
You know , I like the fact that Alex has friends who helps him complete his ideas even though they're weird AF. Wish my friends were like them too!
yeah
His ideas happened to make them all millionaires lol
@@seanieizcool i don't think this is gonna make them millionaires tbh lol AM already did it, cause it was way more huge than this. This is more of like artistic masterpiece than the commercial success.
@@TomaszKalusMusic he wasn't talking about this album alone. Im pretty sure.
@@orangeporanges ya , he's Right
Was great to see. It should have been miles longer though.
I see what you did there.
I feel so guilty cause I haven't seen blade runner. Sorry Alex, I'll watch it right away.
this album is just an absolute masterpiece. in my opinion one of
the best of all time
Sometimes I listen to songs and wish I could have been there during the recording session to experience the energy from everyone jamming and having a good time, 7:35 looks like one of those moments.
10:26 that’s why nick is my favorite!
this whole album gives me chills. it's a masterpiece
It’s left me with such a nostalgia it almost hurts
vintage vibe is strong with this one

RELEASE THE INSTRUMENTALS
Karen G. Search it up on TH-cam a lot of people have made them
I honestly love this so damn much.
Me too 😔😘❤️😎 perhaps they'll let me do sum extreme driving for themselves 🤗😋💖💕💋👀🙏❤️🚘 The last band I drove equipment and my mate Justin, from oup Norrrth outa Brixton, were That Petrol Emotion's gig in Switzerland 1988 ish 😎 I'll bug them till They Do!!!!!! 🐛🐞💜😁😚💕😎
6:24 It's slow song but Alex keeps dancing like it's a disco night
Documentaries like this gives more appreciation for the produced music
as a fan of the last record, it warms my heart to see it more and more people starting to appreciate it!
I’m dying this is beautiful
It's cool how aesthetically in touch the studio is with the music, it must have been hard to sense reality during that process.
AM will be remembered for years to come and we've lived through it, there music is a joy to listen too. Tbhc or the Car is there best work. Magical
I know they may never read/see my comment but I just wanted to say that this album is honestly so amazing to me. I love it so much, words can't even explain. I feel like it takes me to another place, I hope others get the same feeling I do.
