We had a blast spending Thanksgiving weekend in Sendai, Japan! Sendai is the Tohoku Region's biggest city and home to more than 1.6 million people - much larger than our small town of Misawa. We loved visiting Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, trying a zunda (edamame) shake at Sendai Castle, shopping in downtown Sendai, and our favorite, exploring the Sendai Daikannon statue which is the 5th biggest statue in the world! We can't wait to visit again on our next long weekend.

I went to a place called the Hawaiian Center in Sendai in 1974/75. Is it still there? The aquarium looked neat.
