Your welcome.its a different template style. But there's been vst plugins in the past that do it similar but do cost a bit more. It's crazy the tech that is coming out.
Tricky? its total ass if you ask me! I downloaded this thought it would be much easier then RipX but i guess ripX still the king when it comes to stem splitting
@@djgonz123 Thanks heaps! I'll raise a 'copy/paste beat grid' feature request with Serato. I'm also gonna test whether or not dragging copies from a crate (where the analyzed song should already have a grid) creates 'new' tracks or functions like the duplication method you showed us.
Update: If you drag the song from a crate and make a beat grid (& save it), dragging it in again from the crate as 'new audio' makes a new independent track that can play a different stem, but - good news - retains the beat grid. YAY!
They have done some updates with how stems work in the software. Still missing some updates that I’m waiting for (ex. The ability to automate the stems with Just using one instance of the track instead of 4). I know they’re working hard to keep updating the software to make it better for us.
Can you truncate (cut out what you need) in serato? Example I just want an 8 bar loop with horns and it appears in one part of the song. Can I just cut that part delete the rest and bounce out the stems(loop)? Or do I need to get the whole song?
You can truncate . Move mouse over to end of song and a bracket will appear to you to be able to remove what you want. You can also move the timeline marker to a section and split the clip so you don't have to do such a long drag cut.
Thanks for the video! New to serato! I made my first beat and I’m trying to figure out how to do something. I found a loop and i want to take the vocals out for one part of the song and then mute them the second half is there anyway to do this?
This drove me nuts the first day trying to figure out why the other tracks were being edited when selecting only one. Wish I had found this video before I got so upset at my computer🤣
Yeah I know. I've had those rages in the past with other things. But thankfully I try to experiment with things to find a resolution. If there is something that still is messing with you on the software. Let me know and I'll look into it. Thanks for watching
I download the last free version from the Serato site and they don't let me add one more song (just one) is it me or it's normal ? what a huge mess with the impossible way to stems just some part of the song. Thanks for your super help !
Interesting. You should be able to add multiple audio files in the song view area. If it doesn't see if you get a prompt on the bottom corner about this feature missing on the free version. Want to rule out if this is a limitation set in the trail version. Shouldn't be the case but want to make sure
is it possible to bring in a sample, mute what you want, and just export it? I've trying to figure out how to dot it. I don't want to make a beat in the serato studio....I just want to use the stem separation only and then save what I did. Is there a way to do that?
you have to make sure you have it set in the song timeline. If you don't it will not export audio. Make sure you bring the sample to the timeline with the stem you want then export from there. Let me know if you still run into problems
@@djgonz123 I know that might take time, but do you think U can do a possible vid on that? Thanks for this video! An alternative I found to importing the track 4 times is that from a Single Track you can just select each individual Stem - like Vocals, then Drums, then Melody, then Bass and each time export them out. It gives you the same result of 4 individual stem tracks. Correct me if I am wrong here?

Hi, Gonz and thanks for the Video man...couple of downsides 'n Serato Studio v2: Automation is not intuitive, it should be able to record and capture changes in plugins, such as cutoff movement, resonance, macros, etc in real time to be recorded. Automating them later is a nightmare (try Avenger Synth w/ hundreds of parameters...good luck). The audio algorithm is mediocre, because if you put a Loop and synchronize it with the speed of the project, the audio is heard as 'under the water', but if you don't change the time of the project, then the audio is perfect. It has 8 recording times (measures) per pattern, very little, it should have the option of at least 64 to be able to record long and more complex introductions, at least give us that options in settings. The Limiter and EQ and compression sound excellent, but do NOT have access to the individual parameters ....seriously Serato programmers ? year 2023 ?
No problem. You make very good points. On the looping dependent on how much of a change your doing it will not result in that type of tone however to your point if you go about 6 semitones I can definitely hear that type of tonality. I know other software like Ableton with it's different warp modes can adjust for that. Totally agree on the automation of plugins and I know they are working on that fix. I use serum and the amount of specific lfo automation to scroll and remember is tough. ( I had a notebook that I listed when specific name went to what knob. very tedious). Adding longer patterns would be helpful as well as odd number types like 3 bar patterns that I do sometimes to create a fill to the next section. I really appreciate your feedback, it does have its limitations compared to others but they have been good at taking feedback and working on getting these implemented. I still enjoy using it due to how quickly I can construct a song and flesh out ideas. I always recommend finding what gets your idea out the fastest and run with it regardless of what gear or software it is.
