Hi Jay! Thank you for all your support and dedication for helping less fortunate students who doesn't have enough money to pay for a brilliant teacher like you. There are many people in the world who are struggling with the English Proficiency Academic test including myself . For example, I am a foreign trained nurse living in USA and the Board of Nursing is holding my license because i did not get enough score in Academic IELTS, I just missed by half a point in writing!!! While in speaking and listening I am improving dramatically, unfortunately when it comes to reading and writing I will be stucked at score 5 in reading and 5.5 in writing respectively. As a result , I am so frustrated because , in spite of my good commands of English language I cannot get that bloody score of 6 in reading and writing respectively. Thank you Jay and I hope you will read my long message.

I got a 7 out of 8. I got the answer for the sixth question wrong. Though, you answered it to be Not Given, I think the answer is False. There is a section that talks about resting in the paragraph with the heading "Attracting Assistance". Please confirm this Jay.

Number 6 is confusing why NOT GIVEN because there's a paragraph referring to first aid and rest where it was mentioned.
Hi Jay, I have the same question - Why NOT GIVEN because under the heading Attracting assistance there is a sentence relating to Rest. Can you please explain?
@@anumonisha7879 One thing to remember for these type of questions is - the questions will be in order, so check the answer between preceding and succeeding answers text. If it's not between them you can conclude its NOT GIVEN.

@ Hazel Beltrán Yes.there is a passage on attracting assistance. But even in that passage nothing is mentioned about getting off the road if you need assistance . The passage only tells how to convey the signal for assistance!
Therefore, it's contradicting, right?

in "attracting help", the paragraph actually mentioned if the cyclist just wanted to stop for a rest, he could just give a thumbs up, so that's how I chose F since it indicates that they could stop for a rest without getting off the road. can you help me on this one? many thanks!
Gaboo Adriana it is not mentioned in the paragraph where the rider was that is if he was on the road or off the road. You cannot assume anything that is not in the paragraph. So the answer is NOT GIVEN. If it was mentioned that riders who needs rest must not be on the road then it would have been FALSE. I hope its helpful.
The paragraph titled *attracting assistance* talked about seeking help, thus contradicting the question making the right answer false instead of Not Given.

hey i feel that ans of 3rd question is not given because in the 2nd paragraph the given information does not contradict as well as the information given is not proper according to the question so i think ans should be not given.. what do you think...
@@tanyaahuja6449 the answer is true because the paragraph states that "many roads are closed for oncoming traffic but its not the case always....possibility of traffic...." Questions: "some" roads. Answer: possibility of traffic is there; and many roads arent all roads.

Same here. Because as he said it's not necessary that examiner will use exact word and here it clearly mentions if you are on road just give thumbs up and continue with resting (instead of getting off the road). Still not sure why it's NOT GIVEN.

For question 6 there is a paragraph referring to this why you didn’t mention that?! As my answer was false and you said not given but they do mention resting by doing thumbs up?!

Same here. Please look at the Attracting assistance paragraph "but you have just stopped for a rest and dont need help ....". So it means you dont necessarily get off the road for a rest? Therefore the ans shall be false?
@doaa’s dazzles the first thing is you should understand is that if the first question is in the 5th line then the second is not gonna be in the 3rd or 2nd line. I mean they are not jumbled. They are in an order so no need of going back in the paragraphs and confusing yourselves.
It might be jumbled or sequence, it doesn't matter, we still had an information that, no one has to get off the road, just need to show thumbs up, that's means its contradictimg and which is false in obvious.

No trick or method really. I understand the question and then search in the text. The rule is for true it has to mention the exact thing but may be with different synonyms. For false, it has to mention but wrongly, for example, if the question is: The Sky is green. But in the text, it mentions the Sky is blue then it is false. For Not Given, the info will not be there. You cannot assume like Sky is green is mentioned in the question but you didn't find anything about Sky, you cannot assume Sky is blue and then put it false. The answer would be Not Given. @@ulvumustafayev1823

Hi .I cant read the whole passage and answer questions in 20 minutes. I tired even though i take 30 minutes to complete one passage sometimes even more time. I did practice a lot but no change. Please tell me what to do.

There was something said about a rest, "if a motorcycle marshal slows down to help you, but you have just stopped for a rest and don't need help, please give a thumbs up...." so you can stop to rest but just not off the road so my answer was false because it was given about taking a rest in the paragraph
