Yes, going fast in the qtr mile is awesome but, wait till you go 1 mile, 2 miles and longer at top speed. It’s like nothing else. If you think you are in love with LSR now get ready after making your first run. Congrats on your new LSR car!
Congratulations on the new salt car. Your whole life has officially changed. From now on you live for the salt. I'll see you guy at Speedweek 24. Hot Rod Hoodlums Race Team
I don't know you, never met you, but you must be a truly good dude. Don't forget to pay it forward. May good fortune continue to find you in all that you do.
I don't know if you remember but when your car blew up I said it's just Parts you'll be back the main thing your OK good things happen to good people good luck with the new car
1 statement describes everything. "Good Things Happen For GOOD PEOPLE" 👍 you do so much for so many and without bitching or complaining about it. As should be, So you are very deserving of this very generous and kind offering thats been enstowed upon you. HOPING for many records set between you and Miss Alex. And for even more safe passages, with Large parachutes included. Keep On Keepin' On...
Land speed racing is much cooler than most people think. It might be the ultimate racing for people that like to tinker especially if you don't live near the dry lakes. And every car guy needs to go to Bonneville at least once. Or dozens of times.
This man is truly amazing he understands that money isn’t everything seeing people happy and having fun is amazing and doing it all together is the best part.
Man there's nothing like a third gen Camaro my first car was a 85 Z28 my dad bought it for me off the showroom floor wish I still had it traded in on a brandnew 88 IROC still have it along with 4 others always wanted to make a drag car out of them but have a 93 notch back Mustang that's my racecar and it just works so well maybe one day!!!
World's fastest Indian. If you haven't seen it it's a must watch, New Zealander Burt Munro (Anthony Hopkins) spent years perfecting his classic Indian motorcycle. The year is 1967, and Burt takes his machine to Utah's salt flats, where he attempts the impossible, using his dream bike to set a new world's record for speed. Based on a true story, the record Munro set more than three decades ago still has not been broken to this day. It just shows how nice the people at Bonneville were then and this just proves that there is a bunch of amazing people there. That's awesome that Shawn trust you and wanted you in his car and knows that you will treat it right, Race it like it's supposed to be and he still gets to see it and help of course. And Roger is definitely very knowledgeable and lliked watching him help Alex.
Wild colors, I like, but would be sick if you did a Z clone wrap. I don't know what class you're going to be running in, but it's nice you can put that extra money into the engine and power adder.
And a word of advice. Use your old tow rig to take to the salt. Once your tow vehicles touch the salt, that's it, it will be rotted away within 5 to 6 years and claimed by the gods of speed.
Closest I ever got to crying on a gift was my daughters boyfriend gave me an old savage 30-06 on father's day. Not a lot but more than anyone had given me before.. Was pretty happy to get it.. that car is very good looking and I hope you get to do some landspeed racing..
You know Nick, I tell kids coming up all the time that you spend more waking ours with people that you work with than your family. You guys are extremely blessed that you're doing what you love and everyone you work with is either family or might as well be. Life is good, enjoy it! it doesn't get much better than that!!!
The racing community is amazing...I've always been into racing but did my 1st drag n drive this summer and been getting back into drag racing alot more the last couple years and the people are amazing!
That is SO awesome. Some years ago, a real special guy just gave me a real nice mountain bike. He had plenty of money, I don't think it meant very much to him, but I had just had a big crash on my own bike, and could not afford to get something else. It was an incredible thing to me, and I was overcome with gratitude. I know how that feels. ☺ I hope that someday, I can do the same for someone else. Enjoy, Nikky, good things happen to good people. 'preciate ya all!
Not going to lie I even misted up a little bit watching that after he gave you that car. If there was any way in hell I could make it out there for speed week I'll be there. What a great story Thank you for bringing us along brother.
Nice 👍🏼 stuff going on in your world bud!!! When is the salt flats dates when it will be going what your going to be doing I’ll make the track from vegas and check it out!! Cheers
Way badass! Ive been there and it changes you. One of the very few places ive been that stands the hair up on my neck just standing there. Place is awesome. Sounds like a great group of people!
Hey Nick, I chatted with you during Sick Summer a couple of times. I am looking forward to seeing you on the salt. Sounds like a great time. Do they allow spectators there?
That is the water tank for the engine coolant side. Was looking to keep weight bias low and even to prevent yawing in the car. Quite a few others have done it that way. On the salt you want weight rather than just downforce as you need to keep the car slippery and apply all that power to a 6-8” wide tire running high PSI. The factory gas tank is actually filled with concrete and strapped in a heavy duty fashion to the stock location.
It's a Camaro. Of course the temperature gauge doesn't work. My fourth gen. Gauges are constantly giving me a hard time water temperature works and then it don't all kinds of electrical gremlins and I love it

Paint It with Uncle Sam's paint scheme then you'll have a Bonneville land speed Uncle speed as well...

Yep the 3rd Gen were very reliable cars. My was slow but I bracket raced it with only a cam and lifter change with 170,000 miles on it . I was fun
I'm like you Nick. I liked land speed racing. But after seeing Alex doing it I had more respect for it and like it more. Don from Payne Ohio
