The Enchantment of the Beauty and Splendor of the Mendut Temple, Magelang, Central Java

Mendut Magelang Temple (Mendut Temple) offers the charm of a magnificent and amazing temple with beautiful natural panoramas. A view of past history that holds history full of philosophical meaning that remains special today.
Mendut Temple is a 9th century Buddhist temple located in Mendut Village, Mungkid District, Magelang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. This temple is located about 3 kilometers east of Borobudur Temple.
The triad, namely Mendut Temple, Borobudur Temple and Pawon Temple, are three Buddhist temples which are located in a straight line.

Mendut Temple is rectangular in shape, with a height of 26.40 meters above a 2 meter high rock. Surrounding Mendut Temple is a stretch of green grass, then large trees that provide shade for visitors.
Mendut Temple Magelang as a historical tourist destination in Magelang, as well as a place of worship for Buddhists.
Mendut Temple was built by King Indra, during the Syailendra Dynasty. Based on the Karang Tengah Inscription which dates to 824 M.
The Mendut Temple in Central Java was first discovered in 1836, but the findings were incomplete, without a roof. The first restoration efforts were made from 1897-1904. Subsequent restorations were in 1908 and 1925.
Mendut Temple was built of brick with a mixture of andesite, so it looks strong and sturdy. Inside the temple there are three Buddha statues as well as a seated Buddha Sakyamuni statue.
The stairs leading to the temple hall are located on the west side, in front of the temple entrance and are equipped with a viewing booth.
The walls of the temple have various fable-shaped carved reliefs depicting Buddhist teachings. These are reliefs depicting a tortoise and a swan, Brahma and a crab, Dharmabuddhi and Dustabuddhi, and reliefs of two different parrots.
Inside the chamber, there are 3 Buddha statues, namely Cakyamuni who cross-legged, Avalokitesvara symbolizes the helping nature and Maitreya symbolizes the future human liberator.
Mendut Temple also has other elements such as statues and stupas.
