Glad to see this brotha!! Always been a very beautiful car and can’t wait to get mine up and running again! Thank you also for helping me at times too!
Definitely not an under rated chassis. American tuners just slept on these . The aftermarket support es and still is huge for these cars . You just have to know where to look. Toyota and Nissan had a decent lis of vehicles to choose from.
Definitely an underrated chassis here in the US. Hard to find any after market support especially when I first started working on the car. I know in other places of the world the support is a lot better but for me it wasn’t.
I love the car. A very underappreciated car. Sorry I detest the race seats and harnesses. A set of original front seats to match the rear would look much nicer. The old early 90's Toyota interiors were good.
My parents had a 1996 dark green, thing lasted 10 years, but my older brother was driving pulling out on his green light, and large U-Haul like truck smacked him, left the trunk hanging, luckily he survived.
@TheJuanerrr don't think I personally met you but crossed pathways at a couple socal corolla meets and toyota fest. You and Steve aka Taylor made have some dope corollas

We have the same car like this from my dad. I’m still trying to figure out where to start my project but hopefully I’ll be able to do it 😂. Really like the build 🔥 Also from PH here 🇵🇭
You should see how many of these cars we have in Dominican Republic. I have 1996 one with factory ABS Brakes and a 7A-FE 1.8 DOHC. 85,000 Miles. I Love it!!! Will be uploading videos later on.
My moms still got her 1.8 CE after over a decade of service. I want to find a clean manual and drop a nasty beams build in it and slam it on it’s nuts. Love these cars. Absolute workhorses.
1.8 CE, u talking the 2000 (8th gen) corolla? AE101 (7th gen) CE used the 1.6 4AFE. If you want to go 3sge beams, buy the Camry or, even better, an ST204 Celica like me, or even better buy a sw20 mr2 then go beams since it bolts on. The 1zz that comes in the 8th gens got sum potential itself. If you got a 8th gen rolla just 2zz swap if you don’t want the 1zz. If you want to go the 7th gen Corolla u see in the video a 4age is a better pick as it bolts on.
@@LiftbackLife I didn’t know that. Maybe it was swapped at one point. But yeah it’s a ae101 with a 1.8. She also bought a base model with roll up windows and it came with the 1.6.
My dad had a 2000 Corolla and idk what it was but I was always replacing inner and outer door handles on it. Everytime I would see these Corollas at the salvage yard they would always have broken handles too. It's a curse I think. They look good though and yes I seen in Asia these more often modified.
@@Juanerrrr it's a design flaw I think. I'd buy the Dorman replacements and those would break too. I tried lubricating the latch and rods and still would break. My only solution then was to buy from Oriellys as they offered a lifetime warranty so I'd just go swap em out instead of keep buying them lol. So look into that since your car is a keeper.
Thanks for the opportunity. She is far from perfect but she has come a long way. I guess the least I can do is clean the engine bay haha.

I love these understated and underrated platform
Not underated... its super loved... yous all use underated wrong.
Underrated here in California for sure lol.
@@komamix it is underrated in the states . It’s never mentioned. Hondas are super loved & supras are overrated.

I plan to match the back seats with the front. I have had stock seats in multiple times and I really do prefer the recaro buckets.
Toyota corolla is a reliable car, our family car is a 1992 model Toyota corolla, we call it Toyota corolla big body here in the Philippines 🇵🇭

I also had a 1996 Corolla like this back in the day (college). Wow didn't think there was any of these left out there that aren't beat. 👍

Finally Toyota build
We try brotha but they never respond lol
I bought a 95 with 256k miles and runs amazingly smooth for being 29 years old also no rust! The owner really took care of it
Most of these cars were surprisingly well taken care of. But even those that weren’t seem to run really well.
what’s that thing where the radio is supposed to really go ? the small 2 lips and where can i get
Blacktop or a silvertop from the ae101/ae111 would be amazing in this. Guys from Africa love these chasis.
I would love to have one set aside for the future but I really do plan to keep this motor on it as long as I could.
Awesome to hear man. Thanks for watching.
