Thanks for being so candid about your journey to getting a j pouch. I am months away from getting mine done. I am surprised your surgeon said that j pouches last only 20 years. My surgeon who has plenty of experience said j pouches don't really fail and that her hospital has been doing them since the 80s and they don't see those people coming back to get them reversed. Who knows maybe in 20 years there will be advancements that can improve your j pouch success anyways. Hope all is well!
