I also know that Herbert put up 3 of his best passing games the last 3 games of the season with this same receiving corps. I also know that the Chargers were favored against the Texans and Herbert played his worst game of the season. Herbert is lucky to have fans like you who give him all of the praise during their winning streak leading up to the playoffs, and none of the blame when you watch him throw 3 costly interceptions, and lose to a team he was supposed to beat.
@@jobemusicafricathe chargers played well against bad defenses during the season, they had a bunch of receivers (besides McConkey, who Herbert connected with for about 200 yards, none of the haters ever mention that) who could not get open or catch a ball to save their lives against a very good defense in the postseason. The running game also combined for a whopping 50 yards lol with a 2 yard average carry. No elite qb can overcome all of that to win games in the playoffs
We don't. But when the QB loses the game all by himself, he gets the blame. This game was lost because Herbert is bad. Period. End of story. Anyone who says different is smoking hopium.
you didn't just say "he's not in the top 5" you questioned his leadership abilities even though you aren't in the facility and have no idea how he leads, also made passive aggressive comments like "everybody likes him because he gets his haircut at sportsclips" also devoted the entire amazon prime pregame and halftime show to criticizing him. years ago you said Justin was very shy and off-putting when you visited the facility and ever since then you kind of been hating lmao feels like a personal vendetta. also nothing against Whitworth he seems cool
@@brendonn1997 couldn’t agree more. Fitzpatrick always seems like he has an axe to grind when giving his analysis. And Whitworth seems like a good dude.
It’s incredibly odd to me how many people want Herbert to fail. He’s exciting to watch and a great unproblematic dude off the field. I don’t get why analysts love to shit on him so much. Not gonna say he played a good game against Houston but those conditions were dire. Only Ladd showed up to play on offense that day.
They crap on him because so many try to push him as elite and he isn't, not even close. There are at least twenty QBs a good GM would pick over Herbert.
The Bills drafted Josh Allen and went from one playoff appearance in 19 years to making the playoffs every year. The Bengals draft Joe Burrow and go to the Super Bowl in his second season. The Jaguars draft Trevor Lawrence and go to the divisional round in his second season. The Texans draft CJ Stroud and immediately go from three wins to the divisional playoff round. The Commanders draft Jayden Daniels and immediately go to the NFC CG for the first time in 33 years. The Chargers draft Justin Herbert, and five years later they have no playoff wins and just two playoff appearances. Justin Herbert has got a ton of talent, but whatever that thing that the other guys have that make them an immediate change for the direction of the franchise, so far Herbert seems to lack it.
As a Chargers fan, we gotta do better. We didn’t agree with Fitz but we can’t pile on the guy for his take. The chargers overachieved for this season and I have the most hope I’ve had in 20 years. Let’s give it some time
The O-line was the problem. Remember when Antonio Cromartie picked off Peyton Manning 3 times in one game (6 INT in one game for the Chargers). Merriman and the front 7 were wreaking havoc on Manning, and he had that one bad game because his line collapsed.
@ I don’t watch charger games. Tn doesn’t get them. But you ain’t winning a Super Bowl with that qb production. He will be sacked all the time. The box will be stacked against the run
@cutehumor Let me educate you … Jim Harbaugh said he told Justin Herbert before the session that his passing stats would decline and that would be necessary to win more games.. Herbert was all in. So do your research first before u write stupid stuff
The reason charger fans are so defensive about Herbert is because he is bit criticized most of his career. He finally has a good record yet people still criticize him. I understand. He still needs to take that next step and prove himself as elite, but you have to understand the Chargers fans frustrations. Dolphin fans do the same thing with Herbert and it’s hard to cheer for Tua. If Herbert gets a few weapons in the off-season and he’s still not winning playoff games, then we could talk.
Charger fan hear to say that Justin Herbert like Philip Rivers needs a really good offensive line to win a Super Bowl! So far the Charger’s organization has not been able to give Herbert a good enough O line!
I am a diehard Chargers fan. Fitz is right, we just don’t want to hear it. Justin is a top 7-8 QB but you can’t put him in the top 5 as of now based on body of work
Stop smoking the hopium. Herbert isn't top ten. He's not even top twenty. Of the bads playing QB, Herbert has the best arm. That's all you can actually say about him, He's still a bad. He will never elevate his team to anything.
You're not a true Charger fan if you don't put Herbert in the top 5 after seeing him his career carrying the Chargers. He's the modern day Peyton Manning. When the correct team is built around him he will win a SB with half the talent most QBs require
@@oregondonor6744I’m probably more diehard than you actually. And I hate charger fans who cape for Herbert and not blame him for anything. Yes his teammates weren’t great but he could’ve done more in this game and the Jags game to get them a W. Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Lamar and Stafford to me are the top 5. 3 have been to super bowls (2 won) and the other 2 have gotten to the afc championship game. Outside of numbers, what can you point to to put Justin top 5? What’s his biggest career win?
To be honest as a Chargers fan Chargers didnt lose that game because if Herbert...The Texans Dfense outclassed them. Why is everybody ignoring how good they were.
I really like Ladd but if I was the GM I probably would have selected Jackson Johnson Powers over Ladd last year. I hope the Chargers can get an above average Center and guard this year.
If we are being honest I think Herbert was under pressure so much he feels pressure to make things happen due to all of the previous mistakes in coaching and play calling etc. So when it comes to shear talent he has it and it will come because we see what happens even if he has a one quarter of a clean pocket. Next year I'm hopeful they will fix that interior line which is immediately allowing pressure on him after the snap, you can only make so many good decisions when you're being bumped or hit with the pocket collapsing around you on every single play. He has the talent and I think he should have used his legs a little more but outside of that he really didn't have an escape route most of the time, our offensive line wasn't just getting pushed backwards, the Texans were immediately knocked our line flat on their backs and running them over, I've never seen anything like it. Not just getting beat but an epic failure getting exnihilated on every snap.
Herbert's got about one good WR, but he's a smurf, Ladd McConkey. Every other skill player is mediocre, not very dependable. McConkey gets open, catches balls, gains some good YAC, but you can't lean on him as your WR1 because he's just too small, he'll get crushed. I'd draft the best RB available, then get a bunch of quick little smurf WRs to go with McConkey. Herbert's good enough to find them all with passes, creating a Marino style offense, or Oilers with Moon...
Stop with the excuse he chokes in big games playoffs or not what was the excuse when he blew the game to the Jags and lost to the Raiders to make the playoffs and in both games he played horribly 1 TD vs Jags 😂Lamar was throwing to Seth Roberts, Miles Boykins, and willie Sneed but they said he need to make them better never made excuse for him but they always find some for Justin 😂😂😂

Justin Herbert got pressured and had to throw under pressure and he did not do a good enough job to help his team win. The receivers also did not help with some drops!
Not just Herbert but the whole team blew it when it comes to the playoffs they turn into the la chokers Herbert doesn't have the killer instinct to lead the team to a Superbowl
Lamar Jackson is 3-5 in the playoffs and never made an afccg yet he’s considered one of the best. Jared Goff turned over the ball 4 times vs Washington.
The offensive line many times in this playoff game didn’t allow Herbert enough time to set and throw (Jim Harbaugh referred to this). Justin Herbert is a great QB but he needs help around him!
Harbaugh threw the line under the bus because 3 of the 5 won't be here next year and he's stuck with Herbert. The actual problem is the presnap reads are beyond Herbert so he can't properly shift protection or call for the proper hot routes to counter the pressure. The line isn't that bad. Herbert is,
Fitz, you didn’t deserve the backlash you got from our fans. All the reasonable fans knew what you were saying wasn’t coming from a bad place. I think a lot of the “sensitivity” to criticism comes from Acho and his “social media QB” schtick that he did to play into the online feud between mentally unstable, chronically online Chargers and Dolphins fans. Please know that the loud twitter idiots aren’t indicative of the fanbase
Thankfully Fitz and Andrew didn't go there, but as long as other talking heads keep pushing the myth that wins and losses are almost entirely a QB stat, they will have an endless stream of nonsense to spew. Other than Ladd, the entire offense was bad on Saturday, not just Herbert. Constant pressure, not picking up blitzes, no run game to speak of, dropped passes, missed throws, blocked extra point. The backbreaking 3rd down conversion with the botched snap on 3rd & 16 deep in their own territory. Texans have great corners and pass rushers. Were 2nd in interceptions this season. Picked Goff 5 times and Tua 3 time in games this year. And they definitely won the coaching battle in this game IMO. I mean Chargers come in on a 3 game win streak and lay an egg, while the Texans limped in, and got their pride back. But the concept that all of that and winning/losing games, rests almost entirely on the QB is just simplistic and lazy.
As a Chargers fan I’ll say it sucks you guys got harassed by our fans! NFL fans can be toxic across the league. I love Herbert but I don’t think he’s elite - yet. He has to win playoff games to get to that level. I’m optimistic he’ll get there
Listen I’m a chargers fan. And to be honest I think Herbert is more harsh on himself than any of you guys were. Herbert did not separate himself from the narrative that was given to him with that game. But I think he still has a bright future and can be that guy. Great QBS had similar playoff woes. Fitz you were a great qb in your own right so I know it’s constructive criticism from you. Acho is the only guy I don’t like cause he was mediocre. There is a lot of work the chargers need to do this offseason and Herbert needs to sit down and really think and put in the work to change the narrative about him. I know he’s great hell everyone knows he’s great he just needs to go out and prove it. Put together a MVP season and prove us right or wrong about him. No hate from me
I'm a chargers fan and Herbert is our guy but I agree he has every ability to be elite but he needs constructive criticism because I know he is far more capable than what he put on display and that's disappointing. If he wants to be in the elite conversation, he needs to put the team on his back IN THE BIG GAMES. I've seen the ability to takeover clutch moments but hasn't shown that in the games that it really matters or atleast the playoffs.
@@johncreel5048 Because I've seen him do it all season. He has the most game winning drives in the league. I think Justin in 2025 will finally be able to shut the haters up and have a magical season. Year 2 of Harbaugh/Hortiz and a non Horrifying Oline and some WEAPONS on Offense will finally come togather for postseason success. Book it!

If we are talking about all QB’s that don’t win playoff games or even make the playoffs then the list is looooooongg!! Herbert is in my top 5 just simply because of what he has done. When you have actual sports heads like you two writing on a white board before a NATIONAL TELEVISED GAME and disrespecting our QB then we will take aim. Simply because that Fitspatrick career is minuscule and mediocre compared to Justin Herbert number one and for you to sit there and disrespect him on national television right off the bat and try to get a few laughs. Shows the character you have and then you come on here trying to dog out Charger fans for pointing it out makes you that much more of a clown . And another thing after that game, you were nowhere to be found Fitzpatrick.😂😂😂😂
At the start of the season, if you were to tell me chargers would win 11 games and make it to the playoffs but lose in the first round, I'd take that and be ecstatic!
Got hammered in the trenches. Future is bright though. It was always going to be about year 2. Cap hell. We will be close to 100M in cap. 11 draft picks. Only 30 guys on the roster. Guys like Ford will come back. Fulton. Spend big on C/OG. Dobbins is fine but has to be under 5M. Draft a stud TE. I like the kid Warren out of PSU. Then add another stud RB. WR. Have to control the lines in the postseason. Run the ball and stop the run. Situational football was bad in that game. Zero use of Justins legs. Look at the numbers when he runs more than 4 times a game. And look at the numbers when he runs 3 or less. Definitely part of the wins/losses equation. The defense only cratered because the offense forced them on the field too much. They wont admit this but he was playing hurt. He has a knee. It was fugly. No doubt. But when you have so many OCs since college...there is the possibility of developing the negatives so to speak. Just needs to be with Harbaugh for a while. He will work out. The interior OL is straight trash. He was the most accurate his rookie season when off script and flushed out of the pocket. His numbers on the move that season were stunning. He just couldnt stay healhy and this coach will never ever admit he is hurt. Just working through something. He looked like he was working through something in that game. And my guess is they just didnt want to risk it for next year. Which was always the start of the window. We should have 20 new players next year. And go easy on the fans...most are cheerleaders.
Is the NFL 1 v. 11? Why do you all talk like the QB is on the field by himself?
We don't. But when the QB loses the game all by himself, he gets the blame. This game was lost because Herbert is bad. Period. End of story. Anyone who says different is smoking hopium.
Where do I find that hat?
Why are people saying the Chargers need weapons , they let go of Kenan Allen and Austin Ekeler 😂😂😂
Herbert will be fine. Needs to use his legs. Will get better weapons. ...can Dissly catch please? can Q make any play? and we had no run game com'on
QJ reverted to his stone hands form.
you didn't just say "he's not in the top 5" you questioned his leadership abilities even though you aren't in the facility and have no idea how he leads, also made passive aggressive comments like "everybody likes him because he gets his haircut at sportsclips" also devoted the entire amazon prime pregame and halftime show to criticizing him. years ago you said Justin was very shy and off-putting when you visited the facility and ever since then you kind of been hating lmao feels like a personal vendetta. also nothing against Whitworth he seems cool
Herbert only had 23 TDs in 17 games. The offense needs to pick it up.
You don’t watch the chargers then… they’re a run first offense. The Staley era of throwing the ball 100x a game isn’t happening anymore
@ I don’t watch charger games. Tn doesn’t get them. But you ain’t winning a Super Bowl with that qb production. He will be sacked all the time. The box will be stacked against the run
@@cutehumor If you don't watch the game and only look at stats, you are a casual fan that shouldn't be commenting. Thanks for wasting all our time.
@@jasonboness3871 if you read comments online and replying , you are wasting your time. Duh
@cutehumor Let me educate you … Jim Harbaugh said he told Justin Herbert before the session that his passing stats would decline and that would be necessary to win more games.. Herbert was all in. So do your research first before u write stupid stuff
The Chargers need to some more weapons for him and an another RB. Draft only offense then get some free agents for the defense.
Nobody who is supposed to be a "top 5 QB" gets as many excuses as Justin. NOBODY
Whit is spot on here!!
I'm a Charger fan and I believe in him. It was a rebuild this season. Great coach. Ready for 2.0
I am a diehard Chargers fan. Fitz is right, we just don’t want to hear it. Justin is a top 7-8 QB but you can’t put him in the top 5 as of now based on body of work
Yes... this.
Stop smoking the hopium. Herbert isn't top ten. He's not even top twenty. Of the bads playing QB, Herbert has the best arm. That's all you can actually say about him, He's still a bad. He will never elevate his team to anything.
@@johncreel5048 he’s not top 20? Lmao by what standard? Wins? Stats? Metrics? You’re insane but figured I’d at least hear you out
You're not a true Charger fan if you don't put Herbert in the top 5 after seeing him his career carrying the Chargers.
@@cornpopwasabaddudeandhehad4737 Yooo chill, was Taylor Biscotti your ex or something? 😄He's been in two playoff games- Peyton Manning was 0-3 in the playoffs his first 5 years in the league and Lamar was 0-2 in his first two playoff games. It's been known that Chargers have had o-line issues all year and that they need to add another receiver or two in FA and the draft and add to the TE group. Those were emphasized in that Texans loss. Take a chill pill. 11-6 first year with the new regime after 5 wins last year is a great start! Excited to see 2 out of 3 interior guards and center (minimum) be replaced in free agency/draft and addition of more weapons.
@ Excuse the guy plays horrible in big games playoffs or not he will never win a playoff game it too Lamar 3 years to win one playoff game so what will be your excuse next year when he throws 2 picks and loses again in the playoffs next year and stop with the Drew and Payton stuff he is not and will never be on the same level as them two and you got people that say he is better than Lamar yea ok 🤣🤣🤣
@@cornpopwasabaddudeandhehad4737 you didn't @ me properly! 😄 if he stole your girl just say so.
@@dmcg3650 Stop with the Manning comparisons, they're embarrassing.
Offense line needs improvement and the defense needs to be better at stopping the run!
Herbert needs time to throw the ball! He also needs a coach who forced him to get the ball to a variety of players.
Lamar Jackson is 3-5 in the playoffs and never made an afccg yet he’s considered one of the best. Jared Goff turned over the ball 4 times vs Washington.
If you want a real breakdown of his performance in that game go watch Chase Daniels breakdown.
Fitzpatrick they were hating on you, but look what happened. Justin needs to use his legs more! Be a playmaker!
Fitzpatrick still getting hate 😄Herbert will be back with a new starting guard and center with better protection and with more weapons baby!!
Fitzpatrick is exactly what he criticized Herbert for, he was never an elite QB when he was in the league.
I like that hat tho. ⚡️
How do you know he is more capable? He's never shown it. Not at Oregon, not with the Chargers.
@@johncreel5048 Because I've seen him do it all season. He has the most game winning drives in the league. Go back and look at the first half of the bengals game this year or the second half of the broncos game a few weeks ago. When he's on, he's unstoppable he just hasn't shown that consistently in big games.
@@johncreel5048 Also not true he led Oregon to a Rose Bowl win in a close game using his legs. That's the game that got him drafted high.
I think Justin in 2025 will finally be able to shut the haters up and have a magical season. Year 2 of Harbaugh/Hortiz and a non Horrifying Oline and some WEAPONS on Offense will finally come togather for postseason success. Book it!
You not looking Justin Herbert because of “how awful the chargers fans are” is a lame excuse to justify why you don’t like him. Playing the victim mentality here, I see right through you. 😂😂😂
I'd rather have Philip Rivers
I agreed with Eve they say and I'm a die hard chargers fan .. but the Herbert I saw against Houston wasn't the Herbert I been seeing in the season he played awful... 😢😢I guess he not ready for playoffs yet . v
The Spanos family have been horrible owners. They finally broke down and hired a decent coach and GM. Next year you guys will be singing a different song.
Ryan Fitzpatrick got a little pushback on a comment he made and now he hates Chargers fans. Was this guy always this sensitive?
People were crushing him on a personal level dude. It definitely wasn’t “a litte pushback”. There was real hate in a lot of those comments
Oh the poor millionaire QB turned analyst can’t take some heat for his bad takes? That’s hella soft…
That was a waste of time…. What does he need to work on never addressed
Herbert was the highest rated Charger by PFF in 2024 season with a grade of 91.0. Choose another narrative to try and get views. You two clowns know nothing about elite qbs. I’m sorry he can not block defensive linemen and beat man to man coverage when he is playing wide receiver or tight end🤡🤡
Charger fan here⚡️and you suck Fitzpatrick, watching you play was excruciating
Fitzpatrick is a joke , he shouldn’t have had a chance to play in the league at all
If we are talking about all QB’s that don’t win playoff games or even make the playoffs then the list is looooooongg!!
Especially on social media sites. You want to see charger fans that have a clue? Thepowderblues.com. Whitty you are so much better looking than Fitz. Its the lack of Aloha i think. lol
Got any other excuses. Is his significant other not giving it up? Did she buy the wrong brand of cornflakes? Did his favorite Netflix show get canceled? In the NFL, you have to play well to be considered elite. Everything else is BS.
@@markmurphy558 If you want to try and be funny...at least be funny. lol I can take all shots...but you missed the mark on the comedy. Which kills the take. Aloha

Probably a lot more than Emmanual Acho I imagine
About as much as Justin Herbert. Nothing at all.

I can almost swear they call Fitzpatrick, Fitzmagic for a reason. Oh Herbert played good that Thursday night against Denver. But when he wasn't around in Houston in that wildcard game Herbert stunk. Oh man you don't even know I've been trying to tell Charger fans for years Herbert is just another quarterback. He's nothing special. He is a starting caliber guy but he just isn't anything special. Not that I can see anyway. We can talk about how poorly the Chargers played in that game, but what about Herbert? Not a very good leader is he? He might be for like 2 weeks or a few weeks, but he'll go back to who he is. That's how it always works. He is what he is. He's Justin Herbert.

Objectively elite arm talent, athletic runner, historic early career stats, many game winning drives. Quit hating bum.
@@Bigchangues when everything has to be perfect for your quarterback to win that's when you know he ain't the guy. I think they should've cut Quentin Johntson after that one night against Baltimore where he dropped 5 passes. But Herbert is going to get paid the big boy money now. And the Chargers aren't going to be able to do as much with the roster as they could when he was on the rookie contract. So every draft pick is critically important now. Can't miss on another 1st round pick. They all want Tee Higgins if he's available. But he'll be at least a $20 million a year player I would imagine. And what about the running back position? Is Najee Harris going to be available? I personally dont see JK Dobbins getting a blockbuster deal in the off season. But you can see this $100 million in cap space can get gobbled up pretty fast with just two signings. That Quentin Johntson pick hurts. If they have another one it'll be a blow.
