      @SANKU actualy and in general it's not so simple. In fact, you are talking mostly about 20th century and some of 19th, as i understand? So how about what we could achive without 1 and 2 World Wars that ruined whole Europe and lead to all that financial crisises? Like that in the 1920-1930 many rocket enthusiasts and pioneers (like Goddard, Tsiolkivsky, Kibalchich, Obert and other) were barely able to find finances to build rockets. I dont know much about biography of Western very early pioneers of space exploration besides general information, but tsar's government refused Tsiolkovsky twice at financing so he didnt build any rocket prototype (only did calculation) and so on. Maybe if there wasnt any great wars, we could spent more money on space earlier or so. In other side, wars actualy gives science a big punch so it's not a simple question?

    I am seeing quite a few comments from my fellow countrymen (India 🇮🇳) about not finding India in the list. Firstly this is about 3 years old. And Secondly, well to them and those who would watch this , this video is all about the firsts achieved in space exploration. Our country has an advanced space program, but it'll take some more years before we execute something as a first for entire humanity. Nevertheless, this video chronicles the journey of human race as a whole, not just nations and I'm excited to see whats in store for the future. To Infinity and Beyond.
    P.S: All space enthusiasts mark August 20, 2019 and Sept 7, 2019. We are entering lunar orbit day after tomorrow and by September 7 execute the first ever landing at Moons South Pole (nearest). So prayers and well wishes required 🤞

    • @DavidPetersonAU
      @DavidPetersonAU  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FACTZ OVERDOSE Well, my original goal with this video was a broad overview of "firsts". I was originally going to try squeeze it down to about 2:30, but that didnt' work out :P I'm not exactly sure what the criteria would be for an achievement that would be important enough to list, but yeah, I would like to get some more mentions of the Indian and Chinese space programs. The main reason I didn't in this video is that I'm not sure about copyright status for that footage. As far as I can tell, the Chinese government owns copyright for any media they release, so I'm not sure what the legal use is for that. I'm also an Australian, and our definition of "Fair Use" is more restricted than what is in the USA unfortunately.
      Anyway, at some point I will probably do an update, but not sure when that will happen. It may or may not be longer than this one ;)
