Atrioventricular septal disorder is a heart defect where there are holes between the right and left chambers of the heart and the valve that controls the flow of blood between both chambers do not form properly.

Abnormal interatrial septation will cause the shunting of blood to be from left to right atrium instead of the normal left to right.
