If you think its because 'theres 90% less players than on launch day' then ill break it down for ya. Every single game will start with a large amount of players at launch and then drop in player count. Its always the case. Hd2 is nowhere near extinction.

    yeah it aint happening.
    somehow planet liberation feels bugged/impossible compared to HD1, in HD1 you see sectors being won or lost daily, in 2 it feels like nothing is happening alot of the time and that the players cant really push back the enemies at all

      Kinda off topic here. This popped up in my head when I read "feels like nothing is happening". Someone recommended that it be nice to actually see the SEAF Team on the planets (alive or not) to kinda get the feeling that your making a difference.

      It’s not bugged, Aesir Pass has a higher decay rate that Matar Bay, so it’ll be harder to liberate.

      @@turboturkey7236 And currently, its resistance is -1.5% and we are over it with the 3.871%. Taking time, but we are STILL starting.

      As I recall, this is more or less by design. The devs stated that the galactic war as a whole will go a lot slower compared to HD1

    What stops me from playing automaton planets often is the constant ragdolling from rocket spam. I like being able to actually play the game, instead of getting tossed around like a sack of potatoes from infinite rockets that I can’t even fight back against. It’s infuriating, and really discourages me from fighting automatons more. With bugs, at least you have a chance to kill the annoying hunters before they get close to you.

      Yeah, they need to bring some armor perks that reduce that. Bots on helldive is a rag doll simulator. It can be both funny and frustrating at the same time. With bugs, it's a cleaner gameplay and more consistent.

    I think we need more players from the terminid front, sure you can farm samples much more easily but imo, the bots are, as of right now, a far bigger threat than the bugs

      Currently around 62% of Helldivers are at the Automaton front, 35% on Terminid front. Hmm... I think we have enough.

      @@FriesGuyy That be true, but the resistance of planets is a thing. Currently, we're focusing on taking Aesir Pass as it's resistance is -1.5%, and we have pushed with 4%, and it will take, potentially less, a day to liberate. And we got like five days. If that's the case on what I am seeing with the companion app, I have no doubts about this one as long we continue to push, and it will drastically change in the weekend coming.
      We got enough on the bot side anyways. Now there's 63% of Helldivers at their front.

      @@FriesGuyy Yea, but I get how the ones focused on just doing the bug front feel, bots can be a pain... They can't adapt if they get into situations that are just outright ridiculous as I have experienced enough bot bs. I would've been bug main, but I'm the one who adapts quite well, so I am doing my part to ensure that we will win this.

      wish we were able to "donate" supplies to other divers. Before the new upgrades, i was maxed out on samples for like a month.

    I think most people like to play against bugs more than Automatons, since bugs are much easier to play against.

      yeah, because you don't get beamed across the map by a devastator, nor ragdolled around by an off screen rocket when fighting bugs.
      The only thing that "could" be annoying is bile spewers random artillery

      I agree with the first comment. They are very different. Close range vs long range and close with their speed and jet packs. I do always fight whatever the major order is. Try using the scorcher against bots, would be my advice...

    I've got an idea that may be worthwhile. A while back, EA with Battlefield 4 and Battlefield hardline put out an app called Battle Commander. It allowed people using mobile devices to connect to matches and provide tactical support to the team. I love this game, even though I haven't actually played it yet. If they brought something like that to mobile or switch, I would definitely do my part.

      Thats a brilliant idea, i just hope if done, no ones piloting pelican 1, or eagle 1. We dont need that to be EXTRA unpredictable lol. Great idea though i hope something like this added in future.

    Random tip : the hmg emplacement can kill hulks and factory striders, just aim for the eyes and they drop like flies ;) the emancipator mech also can kill striders fast, just have to aim for the eye. ( Probably disable the canon first thou)

    I think the devs should give an incentive to divers who play on only major order maps. for example, 20% more samples and meddles, bonus stratagems, maybe even super credits. make it more enticing to do these major orders so that the ones who don't like playing against bots feel more rewarded for doing so

      Not the best idea since sometimes it's better to not go for the MO planet directly, like for X-45 for example could've been taken effortlessly if brainless actually took the planets they were attacking from, we also wouldn't have lost so much ground

    You gotta contribute to help the major order. I agree on this. Also, the SEAF rounds you can move faster if you tap sprint and then drop the round. You move the round much faster this way.

      @@jairesemccoy9779 it's similar to the technique show in the video. Basically you grab the shell while moving away from it, and before it reaches your hands, you equip your gun and it'll continue flying

    From my PoV it's just that Gunships are way too opressive.
    They were somewhat manageable when they were bound to the gunship factories but now that they appear in regular patrols, it feels even harder to fight the bots. Not to mention that while Screechers can be downed by light weapons, gunships require much more accuracy and firepower to bring down. Of course not mentioning how much they ragdoll you with the rocket salvo which usually knocks you out of cover, into patrols or even mines.

      The rocket salvo is really really simple to dodge unless you have 3 or more gunships on you.

    If Major Orders are supposed to be failed, then the devs are setting the players up for failure. Joel is that DM who undoes player agency for no good reason. As someone who played D&D under a DM like that, I can say with certainty that there is no faster way to anger your players than to make their work pointless by stacking the deck against them and then invalidating their hard work anyway

      they have to play the story out, and if they just randomly add/lose territory, it removes player interaction with main plot points. So I get you feel like it might be slow with liberation, but it's part of the overall narrative and can't be skipped. "This is part of the story" isn't what I'd consider "No good reason" :)

    there is another shell movment thing that is faster..... tap the weapons swapright as you drop the shell and he will fling the shell and you can run to it and pick it up and fling it again

    there needs to be some incentive for major orders to be done besides the warbonds youll MAYBE get at the end. maybe a requisition slip bonus? more samples per map? idfk

    If you don't unlock the console for SEAF Artillery until you have the ammo by the gun, it seems like less enemies spawn while you load,

    If the MO fails I could complain all day about the 30% of players who never switch fronts. More realistically I think is that the bots need their mechnics tuned down because fighting them just isn't fun sometimes. AH needs to remove random critical hits from both sides and reduce the flinching on head shots or give a resistance for subsequent hits. Can't tell you how many times I've been chained to death just because the bots got me 3 or more times in the head. Also they need to rework stagger for hitting the bots with more durable heads, it feels like you can't flinch or stagger them when you're delivering the fire.

      Just....just no that is literally the entire gimmick of the bots it goes like this bugs = superior numbers and melee superiority bots = superior ranged firepower and heavy armour illuminate = superior individual skill and tactics

    I play lvl 9 on both bots and bugs. I find bugs more fun and more of a challenge. I prefer to play the major orders but Bot major orders are boring compared to bugs. Bugs get more unique major orders. I also find that Bots have more issues like they can mountain goat up mountains and cover or just ignore it and shoot through it. I had a match the other day a devistator was inside a rock and shot the whole team from inside the rock.

      (Yes, if you are not helping majority of players on certain planet and just play where you want - you are actually doing NOTHING at all😂)
      Your actions are nullified each hour when planet resistance is applied. Seen those "less than a percent" liberated planets? Yeah, these ones.
      You are doing absolutely nothing if you are holding them😂

    Two new ideas:
    New sentry- rail cannon sentry. Miniaturized destroyer tech. 150m range and can kill chargers in two shots. Slow rate of fire but maximum armor penetration.
    New ship module for Robotics Lab- Sentry HMI: allows for manual control of the direct fire sentries when in close proximity.

    the bots mo will always be harder than bugs mo because some people will never leave bug planets which is fine. The calculations for factions should be separate, because the bots will never have more players

    There was one time I jet packed with the shell man that was so good I got over to the terminal in no time. But I only ever did it once and with one shell. This was 3 weeks ago. I can’t replicate it since I basically just kept dropping the shell and trying to pick it up while spamming the jet pack. 😅

    We need the return of the Rep-80 ( a Helldivers 1 repair tool) to repair mechs and future vehicle stratagems. Hopefully, Arrowhead can add a support vehicle that gives ammo as well.

    I would also love to see a larger war table in the future, perhaps in the battle station hub world we may get in the future? Anyway, I think it would be great if we had a giant war map like the one on the ship but larger enough for 200+ people to be on it at once, maybe it could allow players to vote for a planet we want to attack/defend first in our MO, I think it would allow players to be more coordinated and help get more people involved with the MO’s

    The faster way to get shells to your destination would be walking over it and once it’s right behind you, you simply pick up up and the push O button on PS5 controller and it should throw it farther. It’s a trick that works best but not sure if anyone can do this from me explaining on text. 😂 you’ll have to see how it’s down.

    It’s actually easier to press the weapon swap button when swapping shells. You can use the momentum from picking it up the throw the shell a pretty good distance in whatever direction your facing. You can also do this with the little explosive barrels.

    When you were showing how to move artillery shells I wanna mention the second one where you are picking it up and dropping it, many people do that one wrong the way I do it is just spam mouse wheel up or down and walk moving mouse wheel should make you drop it and for me it slings the shell whichever direction I’m moving and makes it go really far

    Spore towers are interplanetary spore emitting structures...
    The bugs could become a real threat if their spread isn't controlled

    I bet that those big spore towers are in same size and do same thing as Termicide towers, thus creating more supercolonies and blocking sunling due to the huge amount of spores that they produce, for that there will be the new ilumination flare stratagem. I hope this will be like this

    The issues is the lack of in game information and coordination to help redirect Helldivers toward meaningful objectives.
    I would even go as far as literally suggesting to move on specific planets with, maybe, a distribution ratio attributed randomly.

    You know what's crazy? I looked yesterday and saw that a little bit less than half of the entire helldivers online was over at terminids during the major order. That just proves how much of a baby half our helldivers are and that they cannot progress further into harder territory. The reason we lost so much to the automatons is because almost every major order has been for the bugs. This shows to me that most of the helldivers do not actually care or know what needs to be done on the automaton front. This personally really upsets me that only a handful of helldivers including myself see the importance of Liberating planets on the automaton front. If we lose more planets, then these robots will invade our Solar System and possibly ending up on Super Earth. It is also really disappointing that we only do well during major orders. Everyone at the terminid front takes about 4 days to liberate one planet which is shocking compared to when we have major orders. I see that most of the helldivers are only in it for the Medal payouts which is really sad. They obviously care more about their own safety and currency instead of the safety of Civilians

      Brother. As a bot diver... chill. It's a game. If people enjoy fighting bugs more than bots, that's their perogative. They bought the game, they should be able to play it how they want. Would it be nice to get some help on the bot front? Yeah. But telling people how they should enjoy a game they bought is crazy. At the end of the day, it's a video game, we aren't really at war 😂

    I usually only play terminid levels because they're more fun if you don't have a good or elite team. I do enjoy the automaton levels but they're much harder and seems less people play them.

    Bugs are good and fluent to play against. I mean you can fail anyway but Automatons feel so boring and unnatural when you just have to sneak around an do the job as scout for example. Its overflooded with explosions and pretty dumb AI from robots. I don't fancy Automaton maps at all

    SEAF ammo can be “lobbed” if you equip your grenade and rapid-tap the pickup button.
    Takes sone practice and it’s frame rate, ammo position and timing reliant hit it can be done

    Given how half players at bugs/terminids, think a 150m automatons would make newbies or bug-only players familiar with automatons. They seem challenging, but its tactics vs spray and pray and newbies will see themselves making an impact taking few hundreds down a day learning them.

    Fighting the bugs is fun, fighting the bots feels like work, sick of getting pinballed by explosions.

      While undemocratic that’s fair, bugs are fun (especially with a flamethrower) but I wouldn’t say bots are a chore just a switch in playstyle, still fight on whichever front you feel like fighting on

      As someone who used to feel the same way. It genuinely does take a different approach and even a degree of stealth/strategy. I’m not going to say skill issue, bots are definitely unfair in regards to rocket ragdolling I agree, but it’s entirely doable and fun when you get the hang of it

      I have to agree with the others above me. I wouldn’t say bots are a chore, they are more like an actual army you have to fight against and use a different playstyle. I prefer bot’s, so when there is no active major order I am always fighting them. I honestly don’t enjoy fighting the bugs as much mainly because of hunters and the bile spewing shitheads. But I’ll fight them for the major order. I just wish Joel would make progress on both major orders a little easier because of the lack of man power on the bot front.

    Instead of flicking the seaf shells you can also pick it up and very quickly switch to a weapon while moving, and you can also throw it that way.

    Didn't know that first method mentioned, the 2nd one is the classic way. But there is another way; pick up the shell and then switch to the secondary weapon (ideally while you are moving), this will launch the shell a good distance.

    the towers have been spawning since day one. tall skinny structures that resemble the substances covering the corrupted TCS, but by themselves. I've only ever seen them on frozen planets but i can't be sure they only spawn there

    FYI. The impaler files have been sort of found with the names of their BehaviourIds BUT, no one has found a MODEL for the impaler, so it is possible that we are not getting anything like that at all. We have yet to get a single release of an enemy of which the model was not previously mined by the leakers.

    The release of the Commando means I'm out of a job. Again. My job of destroying bot fabricators all day and all night with the spear are over, as my teammate said once it got released he would always run it.

      I run autocannon on both fronts and it’s great
      Spear still has its uses and makes stuff go boom faster, especially those godforsaken gunsh!ts
      I can only shoot down o many of the things at once, so a teammate with a spear is always welcome to make them go down faster

    The reason we fail bot MOs more than bugs is bots actually shoot back, and them bastards have their aim and ammo hacks activated all the time. That discourages players. Bugs, on the other hand, are super easy.

    As a person who plays bots the most by a significate margin, I find bots easier than bugs. but I always atleast help in bug MO's I think we will lose this MO due to losing defenses or being distracted by defenses. For the record I play on 9 all the time

    To me, the way you talk about how the major order is going to fail might give the impression that players should just go back to what they're doing because it's bound to fail anyway. I know that we tend to fail more Automaton Major Orders, but we shouldn't coin the idea of failure this early into the mission. Besides, more divers in the western front anyway. If they take over Aesir, they'll be closer than ever to our homeland, and our super citizens will be under more threat than ever.

      @@therandomcommenter6629 I'd rather the fookin planet stayed liberated rather than having to fight for it every time we get a bots major order. Idk why you call me out when everyone else is focused on a major order too. We might've been able to keep designated planets before when the game had 80k players online, but now with such a little player count, and with literally every planet from a past major order needing a defense campaign all at the same time, it's just not possible. The impact divers have is thinning out, and for some ungodly reason there's a factor that helps the enemy factions take a planet faster. How about we go sideways to new planets instead of repeatedly needing to play the same planet, then defend it for no reward, lose it, and get it back again until the game master decides "nah, that'd be a good idea. Let's just have them fight on the planet of no lore critical stance on the game." Maybe I'd actually play shitty defense campaigns, if they were on a cool planet, nudge nudge- cyberstan, malevalon creek, etc.

      @@therealjome one the amount of players means nothing the system works off the percentage of the player base that is on said planet to calculate it two The enemies can take back the planets because if they couldn't there would be no point the games whole gimmick is the dynamic war which means yes the player base will lose it if they don't defend it in fact arrowhead is perfectly fine with us losing the war entirely it doesn't matter to them, go look at Helldivers one if you don't believe me if we were just endlessly pushing them back it would be far too easy and the lore significant planets wouldn't mean shit for example the reason why meridia was notable was not because it had a retextured biome it was the 10% enemy resistance rate cyberstan is literally the bots capital unless we as a community all lock in we are not going to be seeing that planet for months "why haven't we taken cyberstan already" I don't know probably the same reason why the French didn't just take Berlin in the first few weeks of world war II, "we're fighting over the same planets over and over again" welcome to war you fight over the same 2 miles of land for weeks only for there to be the occasional tactical victory or loss that actually changes the situation "that isn't fun" well then helldivers was never going to be fun ever because this was what was intended from the very beginning

No one is going to go out of the major order's way to fight on a planet that was already liberated, mainly because they already spent so much time there, that the only thing worse than feeling burnt out in making pennies worth of impact on the planet's ownership, is having to play defense campaign missions. Seriously those defense campaigns need more operation missions than "kill enemies- then enemy spawners- then wait 10 minutes while being bombarded by waves of enemies again." I'm sure I'm the only one not having fun doing that every single operation. If it wasn't for meridia canonically being destroyed, the planet would've become captured again and go back to normal with zero traces of the super colony. "Congrats on the destruction of the supercolony helldiver! Now protect the planet again, just with less excitement." What a great war dynamic. Morale is just through the roof. I definitely want to waste time on defending a planet no one else wants to. Hence, why 8k players in defense campaigns make it to halfway just to see the bar deplete slowly on the planet they've hated playing on goes back down to 0.00000% liberated. No one was playing it for the war aspect. That's why the player count dipped, it's why the planets get captured after being liberated, it's why people would rather fight bugs thans bots because people do not have most of their fun in contributing to the war. No fucking war is fun. The only fun part you could take away from it ways to kill your enemies, which is what people are wanting new ways of doing with new stratagems and warbonds. Arrowhead is doing an alright job with the weapons and story, but dripfeeding content is like dripfeeding someone who needs more than what the dripfeed is giving. If we're going to be liberating the same planet, I'd want new ways of doing it. If the excuse to redundant gameplay is "you signed up for this" no shit people are going to just leave. I read somewhere that in Helldivers 1, planets would actually change in ownership overnight, meaning the war was really on a tightrope. In Helldivers 2, the rope is a thick rock. Liberation and capturing of planets takes days. You play on the same planets, the same ways, the same forever. Then once in a blue-moon, the gamemaster actually sends you to do something cool and progress the story. Then you go back to laying in trenches for seemingly months. At least give the excuse of something like the supercolony to keep other unattainable planets out of the picture, as well as making it make sense as to why when we spread our offense all over a planet, the next day a supply line from a nearby planet shows up out of nowhere to capture it several times. You'd think that we would make such a strategic decision in a war, but I guess it's up to the helldivers alone to make that decision and until the gamemaster sees that we defended a planet for once so that we can start liberating the supplying planet. These new factions better be able to actually make a dent in the game's progression without needing the gamemaster's approval.

      @@therealjome "no one was playing it for the war aspect" see that's the problem the war aspect is the whole point if your not in it for that then you you're not going to like the game period pass the initial "oh cool I can blow shit up" the majority don't like it, it's a niche fucking game and it just got propelled to stardom by the internet randomly as for the speed of the war arrowhead said that the galactic war for helldivers II was going to be slower since the beginning and finally if you're looking for the 'content' you're just going to be disappointed over and over again because arrowhead is not that big at all and as for the game the biggest 'content' drop is going to be the arrival of the illuminate and that's it this is the game play it or don't it doesn't matter

    Once again you missed content and your cadence is stiff while presenting dialogue. Please reseach better. Their is a third mobility trick for moving SEAF shells. Sigh. When moving up stairs. Drop the shell and wait a mirco second. Wait for the shell to hit the divers foot. This delayed drop animation is critical to reproduce the effect. Once the shell has fallen time the walk animation as the leg is raised while the diver is climing the stairs. If done correctly your diver will kick the shell up the stairs over the bunker or lip of the ground. You can also do this slightly at the edge of the SEAF doodad itself! Launching your shells on top of the loader itself sometimes, so watch out. This is super important if your getting breached, and need to get out of the bunker area with shells fast! This trick has saved my life more times, trying to solo that blasted secondary. Thank you for the review of major orders, that was well done. Keep it up.

    Just took the rail gun for bugs for a few matches, it is insanely good for bile titans and Chargers! I was shocked. (Got to know the weak points of course)

    We lose Automaton MO's because most "9" players only play on bugs because they dont want to have to learn to try. 9 bugs is like 6 or 7 bots and its embarrassing the amount of Helldivers that are unwilling to learn bots because they cant just train them. There is literally no unfair difficulty. You either are a helldiver or you are who the helldivers are saving.
    But hey man, when you're done stepping on bugs, hope you enjoy fending off the wave after wave of bots you chose to ignore because learning cover is hard.

    Uh…I actually gather vs bots ALOT easier…no seriously I have gone solo sweeping for samples and doing sub obj while 3 others do the actual obj on suicide difficulty. Last run I got all supers, 23 of 25 rares and all but 3 commons. (35 total I think?)
    Bugs I always run into way too many patrols that form a breach.

    Telling people to wait until a Bile Titan is spewing to shoot them is bad advice. That's exactly the time that they're displaying a known bug whereby their head is invulnerable to damage. Do NOT shoot the Bile Titan while it's spewing.

    Ofc we will fail it, when 30%-40% player REFUSE to fight bots then we have no chance. It would be nice to have more player there. Also that we not supposed to win every M.O is bullshit, we lose them because the 30%. It is their and AH-s fault together, bad design becuase of the imbalance in player number.

    idk if people who start mission know they have to finish the operation successfully to liberate a planet cuz everytime i join a mission i see the op is 2/3 when finishing it and then get kick or "host disconnected" its very frustrating to feel useless and kinda scammed
