Excellent analysis and answer Mr. Lovecraft. Well am I aware of your faults and views but I take them as they are use it as way of enjoying the horror present in your works. Horror is meant to disgust and unnerve us and above all make us uncomfortable. Now do I agree with the xenophobic racist thoughts of the characters or your past self? No absolutely not but I can use it to understand what you view as horror and how it affects and informs your stories.

While the "Man of your time" argument is not an excuse by any means (I do believe I've read somewhere that colleagues of yours even back then called you exaggerated in that regard), most people of your time did view ethnicity as a predetermination of a person's character. However, a great amount of them did not view such differences as inherently negative, but rather as simply different. It might be because I'm a massive admirer of your work, but I'd like to believe that a mind such as yours might eventually see the errors of your ways, had you lived long enough. Or at the very least have the sense to keep your reprehensible beliefs on ethnicity to yourself. This video gives credit to that idea. Maybe you do regret your past beliefs nowadays, reanimated. And if you do, I hope you find some comfort in the fact that your work is appreciated by many people of different races. Many of the people you sought to offend in your personal beliefs hold your work in high regard. As I am a Latino, I think this might carry some weight. I'll be reading your books again, regardless.
