We don’t have BN we have a crappy bookstore with like 50% kids books and maybe 10% ya and 10% adult and they’re always random and bad
I don’t have a half price books in my state, but my boyfriends town just put one in! I’m in Portland Oregon and he’s in Boise Idaho. So when I went to visit last month I got way to many books. It was amazing!!

I just went to my Barnes & Noble and I was so surprised how huge the selection is now. And they pretty much had everybody like Alyssa Cole, Beverly Jenkins books and so many historical Romance.
I love that they have big romance sections!!

I love going to bookstores especially on rainy days in particular the clearance sections! I live near a B&N, one independent paperback bookstore and a few other places to shop for books so I can usually find a book or more at them. My favorite place to go besides B&N has been closed sporadically though lately so it's hit or miss. I'd love to be near a Half Priced books as the closest here is about an hour away which isn't a bad thing as otherwise I'd be there more often. Thanks for vlogging while book shopping, was so much fun to join in so to speak. I don't get sent many physical romance books from publishers (though I wouldn't say no if they asked me) though I do tend to get offered digital arcs. I'm looking forward to eventually reading all of the books in Eloisa's Wilde series. I have the first two e-books of Eva Leigh's Union of the Rakes that I hope to get to soon. What a pretty hardcover!

Wow. Five Half Price Books????? Omgoodness I am super jealous. I only have one in my city and two Barnes and Noble bookstores. I live in Indiana and while Indianapolis may have more we only have one. In fact there are only 4 bookstores in my city that I know of.
You must live in a huge metropolitan city. To be so close to all of those books is a blessing ☺️.

I normally go to B&N or Amazon and I normally look for Nora Robert’s books because I love her books...she’s my favorite author.
I can't wait to go book shopping again! I haven't been able to go to Waterstones since December as we're still in lockdown in the UK!
Wow! Here in Australia you're lucky to get one to three shelves of romances (most genres) in any bookstore. Only a couple of dozen Historicals will be in that mix. Last time I was in a department store, they did have a few Julia Quinn books LOL. Plus most bookstores have closed here over the last few years and not all shopping centres have them. So thank goodness for eBooks. On-line print books are really expensive; starting at around $12AUD going up to $25AUD.
I am a huge huge fan of Barnes & Noble. I also like getting books on Amazon. I don’t know why booktubbers aren’t talking about K.L. Savage and the Ruthless King’s MC series. The books are really really amazing !!!!!!!! K.L. Savage should be getting tons of hype. I have been reading the books nonstop.

I wish we could have one of those half price bookstores and B &N. You are so lucky. I have three bookstores near my home but they never have discounts in good books so you have to pay full price. I usually buy historical romance online because you are not going to find them in our bookstores. But I always wait for your reviews and another 2 TH-camrs that usually read this type of romance: Jan and Lisa.

Every time someone does a blog shopping at Half Price Books I get so jealous. LOL Wish they had them in New York City. I normally buy my second romance books at BookOff. Enjoyed watching a book shopping vlog while having my coffee best way is the best way to unwind.
I loved following you around your local stores the stores near me do not have Romance sections or if they do it is literally only Mills and Boon. Just a thought about the closed store though maybe they are not able to staff the store before midday following the pandemic. I know this has affected shops where I live xx

I was at a thrift shop the other day and the had all these gorgeous romance books in hardcover. The same ones you would find in mass market but in original 1970's hardcovers. I thought of your videos when saw them. Do you know if hardcovers of the romance books are rare/harder to find?
Okay I’m not going to lie, I am so jealous!!😩 I would absolutely love to go into any bookstores like those and their prices are so cheap. If I buy nine books here in Australia at my bookstore, I’m looking at nearly $160-$200 😒 A few of the books that I’ve been trying to buy lately are also not available anymore here and yet I’m positive that you can still buy them in the UK & USA🙁 I love Australia but sometimes it sux!😒🙁

I so wish we had a Half Price Books here. Only place we have for second hand books is Goodwill which is VERY hit or miss. :( I relied a lot on my Library bookstores but they are all closed because of the pandemic which is making me panicky since there is no sign of them opening up. lol I've never seen a historical romance in that hardcover edition before! It's gorgeous! I googled it and nothing came up. You scored good.

This was interesting. We don't have many used bookstores in the Washington, DC area that have huge or even any real romance sections because of basic snobbery against romance among the "intelligentsia". They do have huge fantasy, science fiction, and mystery sections however because a good number of men read them too. ;-( In any event, I would love to know who the publisher was of that hardback Woodiwiss "Classics of Romance" book. I'm curious if they included other classics. At one point you pulled George and the Virgin by Lisa Cach off of a shelf. That is actually a fun fantasy/historical/time travel read. The hero is a real sweetheart and the heroine is very tough.

Jessica! Hello I’ve been a subscriber for a long while now I love romance reads as well. However I have never read a HISTORICAL romance before. I love modern “cute” romances as well as intense/dark romances or hate to love, broken hero’s, stuff like that as well I love. I really want to give historical romance a try but I see it as a HUGGGGEEEEEE genre with endless options and so I don’t know where to start. I don’t want to get turned off to historical romance if I accidentally pick the wrong book to start with. I thought you’d be the perfect person to ask for some recommendations for my case scenario. Please! Let me know! I love your videos!
Hi Andrea! Im obviously not Jessica but I’ve read a disgusting amount of historical romance books. Seriously it’s like a legitimate problem. I would recommend starting with a Tessa dare book. She tends to write her books with more contemporary ideas to them. I started off with them and they were my gateway drug to the genre 😂. Sarah Maclean, Lisa Kleypas, and Julia Quinn are also amazing authors.
I have a whole video about beginner historical romances! For cute, do Tessa Dare. For dark, do Kerrigan Byrne!

Why do people hate on Amazon? They have good prices and fast service, they even deliver on Sundays. I shop with them all the time. Their refund policies are excellent, while you’re traveling around to 3 stores I love the option of getting books delivered to my door.
They’re putting actual stores out of business! Especially independent bookstores.

I own a bunch of those authors but I do love Julie Garwood! I’ve talked about The Secret a lot!

I enjoyed following you around, i live in a city so my romance selection in stores in usually limited to new releases. i have been getting more into indie romances so am buying more from bookshop (i worked in a used bookstore so am not much of an amazon fan). I have not read the historical Bertrice Small but many years ago i read several books in her erotic series which was about a special tv channel where women could go live out their erotic fantasies. It was fun!
