I just bought a book called : other words for home 🏠
Don’t wanna spoil it, but it’s a rlly good book. Mainly about when kids move from other countries and when they immigrate to another western country.
Summary : jude never thought she would, move from her country (Syria) and leave her brother Issa and father behind all the way across the ocean in Syria.
But when things get volatile, in the hometown jude and her mother are sent to live in Cincinnati with her Americanized uncle and aunt. And her cousin Sarah, who knows no Arabic. Jude, finds it hard to adjust in the western side… Jude and Fatima (her best friend in Syria) always used to watch old English movies such as : runaway bride, legally blond, etc!!
On the other hand in America, they watch movies where they talk too quickly… will Jude be able to fit in?

just so you know, a little life (the book) is rlly triggering. if you’re thinking of reading, pls make sure that you’re in a good headspace. if you don’t mind that, it’s not the best of books. it’s tragic just for tragedy’s sake if that makes sense, yh i don’t rlly like it lol

I know this is late but I stay in Ohio. When I first started driving years ago I noticed people would wave to me all the time when I would let them over. Never understood the meaning. Basically the hand wave 👋 means "thank you". Also if you get a hand wave...you give one back to say "your welcome". Don't know if people do it in other states but we do it here. By the way...great vlog.
