    I picked one up. Love the slim J neck with the classic P sound.

    This is the perfect demo for beginners and pros alike. You gave each pup a chance to shine, as well as both, with the tone extremes. Then, my favorite, gave your personal settings and thoughts about the instrument itself. Keep up the great work!

      Michael Simmons thank you so much! Whenever I buy anything, I always look at a tonne of reviews, so I based it off the ones I liked of those. I particularly like the ‘Bass the World’ and the ‘Andertons’ channels, where they are pretty comprehensive but quick (albeit the Andertons ones are a lot funnier!). There will be more soon. If you have any requests, let me know! And thanks again!

      I love both of those channels myself. This has shown me the most. Especially this bass. I love both of those channels. I live in the US. But you have shown more than those have about this bass. Keep up the good work dude!

    Your a beast bro!! Think I’m gonna get the Jaguar . Seems like the best of both worlds in that player series lineup

      Thank you man! It's so versatile! I found that when recording library music, for example, it was so useful for finding the right bass sound for a certain tune. Cracking bass, especially for the money!

    I've been gassing for one of these so your review was good to see. I have BB which has a great P pup but the J pup has noticeably less output and is a little underwhelming. Is the J pup on the Jaguar just as hot as the P or is there a difference? I suppose I'm looking for a bass that covers both Jazz and precision sounds, is this it?

    • @HenryJamesMusic
      @HenryJamesMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi William, thank you for commenting. I can't say I noticed much of a difference in output. In all, this bass is very well balanced, in my opinion. This definitely covers the precision sound. When it comes to jazz, I'd say this covers just the bridge (Jaco) sound. It does both very well though, and in all honesty, produces a lovely growly tone with both working together that is pretty different from either (as you may be able to hear!). Hope that helps make your mind up!

    That‘s a very likable approach to making demos. Nice!
    Did you notice any difference in terms of overall feel, balance, or neckdive compared to a Fender Jazz? Greetings!

    • @HenryJamesMusic
      @HenryJamesMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Really appreciate the feedback. So there is a difference, it feels to me that it's a little head-heavy in comparison to my jazz V, but not hugely. After a long gig, you do feel it a little more with the jaguar in terms of balance, but I wouldn't say it's hugely noticeable. I am used to playing fives and sixes though, so that may be the reason I'm not too bothered! Though I haven't used this idea yet, Gary Willis' advice on using little lead weights to shift the balance apparently works really well. That or replacing the tuners if need be. I learnt that in his '101 bass tips' book, which is very useful for the odd tip here and there. In terms of overall feel, I prefer fives and now sixes anyway, because of the smaller string spacing, and I've started using a mixture of floating thumb and traditional right-hand technique more, which really suit extended basses in my opinion. That is just personal preference though, and this is one of the easiest four strings (certainly fenders) I've ever played in all honesty. Hope that helps in some way!

    Hi, how's the balance on this bass? Is it neck heavy?

    • @HenryJamesMusic
      @HenryJamesMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Licccio, I have recently sold the bass, but as I remember, it was only slightly more neck-heavy than my five string Jazz. I would say that it is there (as with most Fenders, well, all the ones I have tried), but it could easily be offset by installing some little lead weights in the body, or by installing light weight tuners (see Gary Willis' book '101 Bass Tips', under 'Bass Balance'). I hope that helps!
