What luck with the crew, what a woman, foredeck gorilla, winch handler and fixing food while the captain is at the wheel. such a dream! Should know that there are many of us who are jealous! ❤❤😊
All your hard labor of tacking, Kate's happy dance, Roxey's nose poking up at the cabin door and finally the dolphins with the pensive music at the end made this a thrilling video on your sailing journey thru Patagonia.
As was noticed by @sauerjoseph, I also caught a glimpse of Roxy on the companionwaysteps. Her nose and ears told me (canine bodylanguage transcription): "Hey guys! I smell land. And you are just fiddling around with that metal thing on the bow, ropes and the dinghy. Stop this crap! Get me in that dinghy so I can crap on land. Curtis complains there is no water. I can give him a full bladder of weewee. Come on!"
You two are amazing. Roxy too. Really like the different camera angles, helmet cams and the PIP. You all are crushing it every week. Cape Horn was epic. The Patagonia videos are a close second. Keep having fun, stay warm and stay safe. Bill
Hi guys, you are now one of the last sailing youtuber I look every week . I love your way of sailing: dynamic, always trimming the sails, steering the boat. Very few youtubers would have sailed up wind like you do and would have started the engine I made lot of races here in France and I appreciate.
Hello, Vive les J.boat. yours is a Super boat for this way. 23 years, but she is beautiful, like origin ! My boat is J110, have 23 year old too, built in France by Jcomposite. The same of yours, but little (36 feets). I very like yours vidéos, they are my very Best video of every TH-cam. You are regatiers, but make safe sailing in hostile nature. Bonne route. Dont' forguet : Francia look at you !😂😂😂
I watch a dozen or more TH-cam sailing channels and have always wished for a channel of experienced sailors that provide a balance showing scenery and personal shenanigans as well as explanations of sail plan, strategy and maneuvers - you guys do it. It helps me to consider what I am lacking in my sailing. Your discussion of polars interests me. After about 11000nm of cruising California's Islands and most of Mexico I have yet to focus on polars, I would not have a clue as to how to ascertain if am sailing close to them or not.
Welcome aboard! It doesn’t sound like you lacking anything if you’ve laid 11k miles of track! A good first dive into polars focused on cruising would be on PredictWinds FAQs. Likely if the boat feels good and is sailing fast you are close to your polar speeds at any given angle. We don’t use polars so much when cruising to sail at top speeds, but to plan ahead to position ourselves where we want to be vs a weather system. Cheers!
Me again. Can't wait for you to get back to warmer water. So if you turn east you might find NZ. I would love to host you. A circum nav of this country would be up your alley. On another note I love your sailing skills. It's so nice you share them. Curtis. your darling is nothing short of a trouper. Love you both.
Another great video! Well worth the 7 day wait.... For me your videos have the right balance between focus on the sailing and on the exploration of these remote areas. Keep 'em coming!
I agree Curtis is lucky to have such a wonderfu ccrew. For a while i wonderee if his other name was "Bligh" ( muntiny on HMS Bounty). Curtis Bligh redeemed himself setting the lines at the end (or had there been a mutiny? hahaha Keep up the great films of the ultimate adventre.
Arrrg! We had to move fast because of impending weather. Curtis is a bit stronger to be able to physically pull the boat around with no engine to maneuver.
Nice sailing ! Kelp in the intake no the prop or hung on the keel or rudder , I have been there many times in the Desolation sound area of BC CDN . Good fix snaking out the blockage .
You guys are like a well oiled machine when you are working the sails. Impressive. Got a glimpse of it when you guys won that regetta (can't remember exactly where it was)
Great video. A boat drug in Porto Santo, landing on the bricks. The community helped, attaching lines, holding him off until the tow-boat arrived, The two boat accelerated with their lines attached, catapulting our mooring neighbor into our stern, braking our Hydrovane. Hopefully we can get a replacement part and be on our way to Cabo Verde.
OMG 😱 WOW ‼️ What an episode 🙌🏻🙌🏻 All ' tied' together with an Over-the-top ending. A dolphin species I don't believe I've seen before. 🎉🎉🎉 See you next time.✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ ❄️ 🌞 ✨
Maybe I just haven't watched enough video's but it was shocking to see you guys down in Patagonia. From your earlier video's I knew you both had racing experience but heading down there and just wrestling with nature. Kudos to you both. Really enjoying the adventure!
Upwind sailing (tackercize) does beat boat yoga for healthy movement. Too bad the time fixing stuff (boat yoga) seems to last far longer than tackercize. Enjoying your adventure, keep publishing!
It really appears to be hard work sailing the monohull, but both of you make it look so easy. I love all the footage of sailing, THANKS. VOTE FOR DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM. VOTE BLUE. 💙🇺🇸💙👍😇
@@SailingSweetRuca Remove that Jokers post and mine too, Thanks. IF that makes you happy and IF you and Kate are leftists say so and I will unsubscribe even though I like you Both.
You two ROCK! I LOVE the sailing! And... being able to handle the unexpected. Your adventures around Cape Horn are why I SUBBED your channel. But... where is Roxy? Why isn't she helping?
That J is a performance baby
Beautiful anchorage. I like seeing the dolphins running so far back into the coves. It seems a little surreal.🐕🌬️⛵
What luck with the crew, what a woman, foredeck gorilla, winch handler and fixing food while the captain is at the wheel. such a dream! Should know that there are many of us who are jealous! ❤❤😊
My boat would be sailing backwards on that course.
Nice vid. Cheers🎉

Thank you for the kine words :)
Did those dolphin racers finally give up? Lolz! They are probably confused by your tacking? Glad you had spare lines.
Curtis is lucky to have such good crew
FOR SURE!!!!
Kate is lucky to have such a good captain!
❤

Haha funny that you guys caught that! We didn't think anyone would notice! She was so patient... Thanks for the laugh!

Thanks so much!!
Not every Captain gets to call their First-Mate “Babe”… another great episode, Saludos!😊
Outstanding again. Really is no BS.

Better to lose a sheet than a halyard! Curtis you’re lucky to have such a capable (and cute) crew!
Agreed on all accounts!
I live 400 km north from where you are now. The weather in this area is always crappy, even in summer
Best actual sailing channel
You definitely get us :)
One would never go on this adventure without repair knowledge!!!
Or being able to think on your feet!

Absolutely stunning end Guys.... Oh more cooking with Kate and some dancing... Super Duper... Love this show... 😍 Be Safe Guys... 🙏
I’m knackered just watching you guys, there won’t be an ounce of fat on either of you.
Best sailing channel with excellent content . You're the real deal and a perfect team.
Wow, thank you!
What a great moment with the dolphins. So nice! Best way to close a day full of adventures and hard work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
That’s sailing no BS
Good series, think of all the wonderful seafood your not catching
You're right! There is a long explanation for that..

A real adventure for these real sailors. Tacking against the wind.
Wow, what a ride. Luckily you’re still young enough to work those hand winches. Quite the workout. ❤
Do it while you can!
👏👏👏
Very cool show....
Glad you enjoyed it
great sail. cheers

Very nice video!

"Funny" thing we had both of those problems this last summer... broken line (jib furling) and kelp in the intake. It happens. Nice sail though.
Right on, it happens, normal parts of sailing adventures. The kelp here seems perfectly sized for our water intake and it is plentiful!
You guys are like a well oiled machine when you are working the sails. Impressive. Got a glimpse of it when you guys won that regetta (can't remember exactly where it was)

😀👍👍👍❤Hello from Seattle, WA. (Northwest USA) Cold hands but Amazing underwater video of Patagonian dolphins! Thank you both!
Hi Thomas from Seattle!!!! Stay warm & dry and thanks for the great comment!
Very interesting watching you sail the boat. Well edited and awesome robot dance.
Another amazing experience! Incredible! See you next week. Fair winds!

No click bait, just full on cruising! Mahalo.
15:00 - nice, those body cam shots illustrating the collaboration
Wow man.
Ouff impressive sailing. Thanks for these amazing video as I don’t plan to ever sail in this area. It looks a bit rough and cold.
You guys are awesome
Thanks, so are you!!
The kelp seems to be a definite danger to the propeller intake. Especially in so remote an area.
It is indeed! Another good reason to sail instead of motor when we can!
lol! Curtis gets in heave-hoe mode. Kate gets even when editing.
Haha thanks for the laugh!

Really enjoying the adventure!
Thanks! It's so crazy to think how far we've come!
I thought J46's, since it has a carbon mast did not need running backstays with a staysail?
Great video.
Thanks Steve! Always good to see your comments :-) All the best!
Maybe Curtis should be doing a bit of grinding . It's not a Mackinac race....just saying
Ha! Right on!
A great episode. Great sailing and the dolphins were a great conclusion.
Thanks! Hope you guys are well!

We love this new term! TACKERCIZE!!!!!
Here I am relaxed at anchorage watching you guys tack this is for me a treat. Great Job as you like to say. SV Skoiern IV
I love the sailing descriptions. You are much better sailors than me.
Awesome Video
Glad you enjoyed it
Maybe time to replace older running rigging proactively. How many more videos prior to arrival in Puerto Mott?
For sure! We haven't thought that far ahead to count, we just create them with the footage we have.

❤ best part was the end.
