So I actually made most of this last year when I was experiencing a low point in my depression. Having chronic anxiety and depression means that I go up and down a lot, though the ups are more what you’d consider ‘normal’ moods or at least not too low, and the downs are really low. So I’m used to being sort of okay and then terrible, constantly. I use editing and writing to help me deal with that.
I love Jane so much and the way that the show allows her to explore her trauma. So many shows don’t acknowledge the trauma a character has been through or if they do it’s only briefly or terribly done. So I really admire Doom Patrol for taking the time to do that, with all its characters. Some of the things Jane says really hit home in terms of my own experiences with depression and trauma. And I can really relate to her trying so hard to keep going, reaching points where she wonders what the point of doing so is, but pushes on anyway. I experience that struggle so much in my own life, every day since I was a child, and it meant a lot to see a character dealing with that as well (even if her circumstances are nothing like mine).
So I had this about 90% finished last year (I just needed to add text effects which takes ages and I did that this year) so that’s why there’s nothing from s2 in this. I also haven’t been able to watch it yet since I’m in Australia so but I know it’s gonna be amazing when I finally get the chance to see it.

And, as I mentioned in my last vid, if you haven’t read Diane’s autobiography ‘In the Country We Love’, you really, really should. It’s an amazing and deeply honest read, and such an important perspective when it comes to refugees/asylum seekers and immigration (not just in America but all over the world).

Each of Jane's personalities had her own pain. She was like a beacon of strong will to stay alive despite all her trauma. I love her for who she was. One of the most iconic woman I ever known.

Oh wow, that really touched deeply on Jane and what she’s been dealing with. More than 5 dozen personalities and still so alone. While last season showed a lot of her will to fight and keep going, her strength, this season has done so well in showing that even warriors get tired of the battle. That after a long enough struggle the desire to just give in and be done can be overwhelming. And you managed to show that in the most heartbreaking yet beautiful way! Please keep the videos coming because!

It's something I really related to Jane with because it's something I struggle with as well so it was cathartic watching a character go through that. I won't be making any more Jane vids for a while because I'm kind of absorbed with yumagna/Luna edits atm but when I get around to watching s2, hopefully I'll make some more

I have DID, along with a lot of chronic physical illnesses. So I'm pretty miserable most of the time. I love Doom Patrol and Jane so much. I come back to this edit a lot and it makes me cry everytime. You did a really good job, take care of yourself 🖤

I’ve seen this video at least ten times. It makes me sob every time. I love Jane. She was the character that made me stay watching Doom Patrol. The fact that every single alter has their own personality and emotions, and some aren’t even from the comics, proves how much the creators care about each of their characters and that they may have more stories for them.

Crazy Jane's origin episode had me in tears, my favourite comic book characters are made up of those I relate to on a profound level ,from Catman and Bullseye to Crazy Jane and Jessica Jones and Outlaw, not whose "Hot" or "Badass" but who I relate to. I love Jane as like Jessica she is so fractured and broken and so far from where she deserves to be but deep down their is a beautiful soul yearning to capture something innocent and more importantly something real enough that she can actually hold onto it.
Just like Catman said "Just maybe, Il never find anyone that cares if I live or die..but maybe I can find someone who I care for that way, and maybe that will be enough", that line sums up the kind of level to which I connect with on all these characters. I've walked a less travelled road so unfortunately I do relate to the likes of Crazy Jane but if I hadn't had the life I've had, I'd not have the tremendous empathy I do have and have helped so many people along my way as well!
