Broken styrofoam right off the bat… not good.
This case seems like it is more in the prototyping phase than an actual finished product. I also feel like they got confused on whether they were going for affordability or a show piece given some of the design elements. I think your review is more than fair and if I had to give it a price I wouldn't say more than $100, being generous.
You guys should check out BRO COOLING channel and you will realise what are these cases for.
Just because you don’t know how to build in these weird cases doesn’t mean it is unpractical or unfinished.
Unconventional cases like these are are for unconventional build.
@@Frontofax Are you saying there is not design areas of this case that could and should obviously be improved? Even purely as a conversational starter or show piece, this case lacks some pretty basic features that with a little thought could have been easily addressed. Even if Greg had done a nice RGB setup and some B-roll shots, it doesn't change the fact that this case has some pretty major design flaws.
@Not AN OVERPRICED GOUGING TECH FAN "NAOPGTF" Actually that's a pretty good idea, and to be honest for the right PC builder, it might actually be able to somewhat justify it's price a little bit if you buy it for that.
LGR have build this case a year or 2 go.. it is on his youtube channel
@@MinscShip That was not the same.
Every time I build a PC, I take massive amounts of times sourcing parts and the case is definitely one that I spend a lot of that time on. During my most recent am5 build, I actually saw this case over and over and over again. Here's a piece of advice for up and coming builders, if you see a case over and over and the price is all over the place, it's safe to say that the case is not very popular and it's kind of cheap. Regardless, I do like these videos bcuz it gives ppl an idea what it's like to build in cases that aren't just your standard box.
With that being said, I have actually come to like Deepcool cases quite a bit and their customer support has been really good. I had to deal with them 2 weeks ago and told them one of the fans was making a weird sound and they didn't hesitate to send me a replacement one.
And never spend 30 bucks on a case, it WILL be bad, don't doubt it. I did it, and it managed to crash my GPU by suffocating it. I really needed the replacement because my original case was bent and it would force the graphics card to sag, sometimes disconnecting a pin or two mid run and forcing me to open it up, re seat it, and hope it didn't happen again, wich would eventually happen again. Safe to say it was a desperare move on my part.
I bought a deepcool case for my new build a few weeks ago (the CC560 in white I believe?). Good to hear that their customer service is good.
Massive amounts of time sourcing parts? I feel you.
Recently I've been on quite a hunt to get some parts from china for my VR PC build. Finding information about their existence and differences has been such a hassle. But I now have a ton of information about some certain products over there tho. Been looking for over a year for a Chinese motherboard for this damn thing that was actually even considerable
I have to crank out builds at times, it's honestly best to just have a few trusted brands for expediency on that end. Fractal, Corsair, and Phanteks are the brands I use, for high consistency and best support, casewise.
Yeah that is a unique case, but it is about what I would expect for that price. I just wonder what the thermals were like, I bet that case acts like a hot box without any fans to move air around in that case? A mini-ITX or smaller version of that case might be nice?
The case could be turned into a show piece with a new paint job and some custom lighting and cooling?
I love it when PC cases come with directions in Engrish. All your PC case is belong to us.
i love your channel! its helped me so much in what could be wrong with a pc, overall how setup a pc, and build one! much love to you and your channel and best of luck for you to continue to grow and grow and grow!
Thanks for the continued support, Rufus!
They could have truncated the pyramid at the top, and make it not so tall. There's a lot of empty useless space at the top.
Thank you Greg for suffering through this so we wouldn't have to. This looks goofy and the scratches would annoy me. As well as not being able to have like any fans.
I'm jealous. Having this for a job is awesome. I love building and messing with PCs. I only get a chance every couple years when I update or build a new from scratch. Must be pretty sweet getting to do it on a regular
5:08 in why not lay it flat to install the side panels then just install each one face down, the only awkward one will be the last panel [which you will most likely do in that position anyway]?
Thanks so much from James in SC as I was looking at cases and this case was on my list. Thanks to you Greg Salazar for saving me from wasting my money. Thanks again and I watch nearly every video you make. Also I am now looking to start my own youtube channel. Thanks again Greg.
Love the Lafayette rep! You were being very nice with this one. That is an absolute mess lol. It honestly looks like someone just took a bare bones open air test bench and slapped a slap of pyramid shaped metal over it and called it a day. Even with the more reasonable price...big eh. Thank you for lugging this hunk of metal around for us.
I bought the AZZA case last month from Newegg. Still waiting on my mind to decide how to build it out.
Now do a build in the AZZA pyramid case and compare the two.
Greg thanks I've been eyeballing this case for couple months now. I love abstract case designs but your review has helped me a lot.
Thanks for watching!
I ended up getting the Fractal Torrent Compact and I like the case but I wish I would've know that the Hyte was coming out like 3 weeks after I ordered or I would've definitely waited. The Torrent Compact was challenging to cable manage in.
I'm literally in the same exact boat as you. Got the Fractal Torrent Nano. Love the case, airflow is topnotch. But a challenge to cable manage. Saw the Hyte Y60 and I'm obsessed, today I pulled the plug on it and bought it. Got the black one (the hardest one to find). I'd say go for it and get the Y60.
@@josephpetty2268 I've already talked to my wife about getting one in March and upgrading my kids PC case plus I have a corner desk and it would fit perfectly in the corner. LOL
@@Mohawkchris oh I'm going with a corner desk too after christmas lol. It's perfect for that kinda situation.
I firmly believe that Greg left the fan cable against the fan to show how inconvenient it is to take the cap off to do any sort of troubleshooting with the inside of the PC, and no one will convince me otherwise.
You guys should check out BRO COOLING channel and you will realise what are these cases for.
Just because you don’t know how to build in these weird cases doesn’t mean it is unpractical or unfinished.
Unconventional cases like these are are for unconventional build.
At around 12:20 it looks like the chassis is bending, for $160 USD, I would've expected better quality, that's a shame.
I reuse old dell and HP mid-tower cases. The ones that use standard ATX components and traditional layouts. I can get as many as I want from my local landfill / recycling center. Free DVD drives and USB front I/O peripherals. I can mod them until they are exactly what works for me, without the guilt of cutting up something new. The last case I paid for was a Fractal Focus G (blue, in 'case' you were wondering) and I _Loved_ that case. I sincerely regret selling it. Fantastic case.
Alienware's triangular case seemed just bonkers when I first saw it, but then I got a close-up look and could see some really smart design decisions that made it a fascinating exercise--and those were really huge, too. That could have been the case (ha ha) here, but instead it just looks like someone designed an elaborate hat for your computer.
It would have been pretty neat to see a lower level that's all about airflow across PSU and maybe even graphics card, then the motherboard above it with its own airflow model, vent out the top because heat rises. Everything tucked neatly away and the pyramidal body then used for decor (mirrors, creative case lighting, etc.).
The best thing about this case is that since it's from Amazon, you can return it.
In regards to the cables, the only thing I can think of, would be getting custom length cables made so there is little-no excess.
I like it when companies put out some unique cases, but the quality of the case has to be there for it to work. I've seen some cool cases and if they fixed the issues you pointed out, this could potentially be a cool case for someone who has the space and the money to really deck it out. But as it is now, it looks interesting but falls short of its potential.
This has reminded me of the wacky Aliexpress cases. I have seen a "tank" pc case for 480 bucks a couple of times now and i'm not less intrigued after any of the times i have seen it
Don’t know how I’m barely finding your channel. Good job keep it up bro! Subscribed.
It's like they watched the episode of the office with the Sabre Pyramid and said "yeah, but it will work for us if we make it bigger."
Simple solution to install the glass panels. Lay it down, put the panel in place, screw it in then rotate to the next panel.
Gigantic case. Where the hell am I supposed to place this? This will take up a lot of desk space or it needs its own separate square table
Does this thing have any airflow? It just looks like a huge glass pyramid with no ventilation.
I honestly feel like someone bought this case, used a little, then sent it back. That's likely where the dust, scratches, and white lint (attempt to wipe down) came from.
The link you give for this case is for a different Kediers case, I found this on Amazon at over $400, there is no way I would pay that for a mediocre case like this.
Those cost $200 or $400 now on Amazon. One is an Azza ($400) and the other Kediers ($200).
So all that exhausted heat is supposed to come out of those slots at the top of the pyramid ? Seems like this would be a hot box...
Greg, the great pyramid of Giza in Egypt is actually octagonal, meaning it has eight sides.
I came across this case when I was building a PC for a friend recently. Glad I skipped over it, I had a feeling it would have a lot of issues.
Can confirm. I built my wife's computer in this and it was a nightmare... Trying to get some parts to fit was a bad time and cable management was a nightmare
A friend of mine wanted to purchase this damn thing aswell a while ago. I could tell just by the looks of it that it would not be a smart idea by any means. Especially when you don't even HAVE the money to buy it. Besides he would have had no space to put it, cooling sucks and his storage will suck aswell. I'm glad I talked him out of it and he is now happy with a different case that is much more useful for his needs (even has a 5,25") slot he needed
Azza makes a very similar case, only 4 sided(true pyramid), it costs substaintially more but I bet the build quality is better.
I was watching a vid of a guy going over PC build submissions yesterday and someone proposed this case. I think it was closer to $300 though. I just completed two builds using the Corsair 5000 and 7000 series cases and they were great. The 5000 was great and the 7000 is an absolute beast.
Can't use an AiO on that thing, you'd kill the pump block because there's nowhere to put a radiator above it. Maybe a custom water cooling setup with a custom water cooled GPU?
Other than the cable mess I... don't actually hate how it looks sans the dunce cap? Takes up an ungodly amount of desk space vs a typical tower case it seems but otherwise looks grand.
It looks silly with the fan mount sitting all alone at the top like that without anything installed in it. It looks like you gave up halfway through. I was seriously looking at one of those for my living room but decided on the Thermaltake Level 20 HT Snow because it was EVEN MORE BIGGER!! And I didn't put any tubes or radiators in it, I just love all the space. I did put a marble tile bottom and a custom Coors light LED sign.
I just build on this board at work today and i can confirm, it's a 10/10
But i think the m.2 heatsink is an absolute overkill and annoying because you have to take it off to put all motherboard screws in
As another shipping negative it would appear the edge of the plate that holds the motherboard got bent
Hey on a good note, add some decorations and you can use this case as an upgraded Christmas tree 😀. It's a win/win situation lol.
I found someone seeling with case for $100 without feet. I got it. Got the build done. It's pretty neat if you have stuff that fits. I have a 3070 and It fits but nothing bigger than that for sure. Still working out temps in it though. As you can guess air flow is pretty rough. But it's a neat case if you have the room for it.
Greg, you never mention surge protectors and which one is best. How Joules do I need and do I replace the protector after 5 years or less.. What is a good cheap yet well-built surge protector? Thanks for any help!!!
I like how Greg managed to power his rig using green tea soba noodles. Worth showing off.
Hi Greg, I have a question. I had a MSI AOI Cooler. This one made suddenly big noise. Now I got a new AIO. But its to large. I placed my Tower flat on the table and installed the water pump on top. The head exchanger lies now outside ontop of the tower and gets alot of fresh air. Is it dangerous to place a waterpump like this? (Its not like II its like =)
That's where us modder's come in on a case like this one unique and a lot of possibilities...
I'm assuming there's another gaudy cutout for rear i/o? Don't recall seeing it in video.
I'm going to be getting 2 of the Azza Pyramid case. One Glass and the other metal screened. I'll be switching 2 of the glass and scren panels so each case will have 2 screens and 2 metal screens each.
Given that there's a trend towards smaller and more densely-built PCs that work as well as the larger form factors, it's hard to see what value this case has at all. It's absurd.
I reckon it might make more sense if they took their concept and put a 5 foot Christmas tree on top, with led lighting throughout and all the way up the tree.
Microcenter had a pyramid case on display once. It was smaller than this. I liked it
This looks to be a cheap looking China version of the more proper Azza Pyramid 804 case (also comes in a smaller 806 version for ITX) by AZZA-TEK. That one do have a proper 4 corner square bottom just like the Giza pyramids and is much better but costs over $300, but you do get a a nice RGB fan at the top. Greg you forgot to include the GPU and those cable extensions in the PC parts list in the description!
I was going to buy this case as a treat for myself for xmas because of how different it looks and i DID like how it looks. I am sooo glad i watched your vid Gregg as the condition it arrived in concerns me and it really doesnt look like i thought it would
Azza makes a piramid case if you're interested, dunno how good that is.
@@gall-93 oh Thank you. I will definitly have to check that case out
WHO IS THIS, THAT IS NOT GREG!!! HIS CHANNEL HAS BEEN HACKED!!!
Love the new cut my dude!
I feel like some of you didn’t see our scalper video hahah, it was first shown there 😁
Would never use the case but it seemed like if you flipped it over without the cap to put in the tempered glass it woulda been alright to put together
So what do the thermals look like?
You turned it on, but something was in the fan.
Would of thought a black powder coating on the vertical struts on the cover would have been better
This has nothing to do with the video but love your music taste going off the vinyls in the background
Reminds me of a camping fireplace I once used.
I would want an opening for the marshmallows.
@12:03 I cannot unsee the bent base on the left side.
If you put the fan up top, how would you plug it in?
If the company tries to advertise and such for this, and they tell you to scheme your build, are you falling for a pyramid scheme, or making a pyramid scheme.
I actually wanted to build in this case so bad, but I thought the cable management would be so horrendous and hard
From cable management to cable exposure
This looks at home by the Cleveland pier covered in seagull poop, that is honestly the best case for this chassis I can think of. lol
Love the Louisiana shirt, future graduate here! Keep up the great videos!
they may be weird and hard to built into, but I love weird ridiculous pc cases, I couldn't afford the pyramid, so I bought the cylinder Ventroo K2, it's just massive and only fits an m-atx motherboard, but I love how ridiculous it is
I had no ideas turds come in hexagonal pyramid form!
Triangle is the strongest shape out there Greg...
I heard Cooler Master is coming out with a shoe case, you should build in that.
😂 bet
I like it. Throw some blue led lights or whatever color is your preference and I'm sure it will stand out. I enjoy watching your content.
I like the concept of the case, but I wouldn't spend that much. It needs to have a way to be bolted to the base for stability. I'm happy with my 180 thermaltake full tower.
They could cut more costs by going with mesh over TG, it wouldn't even be that hard to implement into a build of that shape.
but the overall cost..... that's a yikes from me, especially with a case that has USB 2.0 over USB type C
I guess seeing as it's a showcase.... case you'll also want custom length cables to go with it.
Greg looks like he bout to sing "I'm at a payphone trying to call home" kekw, love the new haircut btw
At least you can use the bottom part as a test bench xD, great content as usual
I built in this case. It was not a bad deal if you aren't using super high end(At the time) hardware. I used a 12900k and 3090. I had to run external radiators as it would not work with any of my hardware and I ended up fabricating panels so I could attach fans. I found it utterly useless for my build and sent it back
What do you do with all the Weird cases you buy and try out? Do you just have them in a room somewhere?
Over the top, one will need a large desk to fit the pyramid PC and 32" 4k Monitor
Although I like when companies go out on a limb to build cases that are not the same out boring rectangle, this one is too weird for my taste. I love building custom hard tube open loops, and it's obvious that water cooling in this case is a no go.
Gregg (since I have been looking at that X670E board) you listed the Corsair Dominator RAM and put 4 sticks in, were you able to get 6000Mhz Expo speed with all 4 installed?
It’s worth the trouble in my opinion for the looks, definitely a conversation piece.
why wouldn't they have screws to at least have the frame stay on not very safe
Wow - what a weird overall case. A different hair style - looks good.
I bet that case would over heat your system under load unless you put fans on top and bottom
well if you don't put on the dunscap its just a test bench which kinda nice
Airflow looks like crap. Any idea what temps were. Just curious?
I've never heard anyone complain about building a computer so much in my life. Most people would be thrilled at the opportunity to build with this case. Attitude is everything .
I love pc chassis that have to be assembled but not a fan of this one. My current case I've been in over 8 years now and has housed 4 builds is the Danger Den tower 21. It arrived flat packed and was like a 2 hour build just to get the chassis put together and loved every minute of it. Thanks for the review/build Greg I really enjoy these types of videos. 👍
Greg. you could have taken the top cone off and put it on its head and put the glass in. I was nervous looking at you put those panels in.. Yikes!!
Oh my! Dunce cap is a great description! 🤣
Saw this years ago, have an idea for it but it would cost way to much to build and decorate with the theme.
It’s also to tall for the theme, wouldn’t look right.
I like the idea of the case but I think having the GPU mounted to one of the 6 sides would have been better, not only would it show off the GPU even more but also allow bigger GPU's to fit.
It seems this case is intended for lower end systems that you would be giving to a child on Christmas to me, something to look cool but not overkill.
So how big is that card? Couldn't find it in the description
PC Builder Jason had to deal with a similar pyramid scheme on a recent Boost My Build video. That said, the two best things about this video were the pc hardware itself and your haircut.
I was literally gonna build I. This case but the high price kept me away. I ended up going with the Hyte Y60, best decision ever.
Looks really cool! If it were cheaper i would definitively buy one
@@Ferrari255GTO it’s definitely a really cool case, but for $400, I don’t think it’s worth it. Especially when it’s not futureproof.
@@reptileescape3619 futureproofing my pc doesn't matter to me when most people would say my pc is outdated. The RX580 is severely underrated and weighted down by AMD's shitty software. The card is good, but the pc crashes because of it over half the times it does.
finally a case where the motherboard sits horizontally and is regular ATX !
but is a piramid .....
If I had a place for one and the money to build a pc I would probably get it it. Its pretty neat. Use different color cables and shorter too would clean it up a bit.
