@@icephonex Quick question, how do you even highlight globals/locals/parameters/members in different colors in emacs? Made some searches but can't find a way to do that. If that's not possible I ain't switching away from micro$hit poopcode
you have always been my favourite emacs user online. whenever I see your emacs setup and your speed and efficiency with it with a relatively minimal setup, I always get inspired, compared to many other setups where I feel like it's filled with soooo much extra stuff that can be considered fun and good to have but not essential. I hope you can do another emacs config video soon and go deeper into your config
I'm mainly a NeoVim user, but I've given Emacs a try many times, but every time I end up with this huge complicated config which really annoys me, and also breaks easily. Lately I've noticed that my NeoVim config has ballooned in much the same way, and it just doesn't quite work in some cases, and this annoys me to no end, especially all the LSP stuff tends to add a lot of bloat and tends to be easily breakable (although that largely depends on the language you are setting up the LSP for). Anyway, that pushed me to try Emacs again, which lead me to this video, but what I realized is, it isn't Vim's fault or Emac's fault that things end up this way, it's the whole "if I add this thing I'd be so much more productive" mentality...
This was great. I'm using Emacs for an OSSU course and it's pretty confusing how everything works, especially configuration. I learned a lot watching this... will probably watch again.
For beginners it's not really recommended to disable the menu (or even the toolbar probably), because that's a good way to start exploring Emacs' features. For example the font configuration can be found in the menu too these days, when the latest stable Emacs version is 29.
I am pretty sure you can. Of course it would be very tough to code in the drivers and environment servers, sandboxes but it is absolutely possible theoretically.
I do the exact same thing. I also, use the same 'technique' to setup servers and hosting environments. I couldn't tell you how do setup most of the system until I'm in the middle of doing it.
I couldn't exit emacs either lmao, now I'm super powerful because I know how to exit both (and I'm trying to switch to emacs with evil-mode as a former vim user)

Run Emacs in a shell it has an integrated toolbar so you don't have to use the horrible GUI toolbar and all that other nonsense
Spacemacs: emacs with vim controls. The configuration that will unite the world.
Or destroy it
If you use spacemacs with vim keybindings, you just get hate from both emacs and vim users xD
As a vim user, I hate you.
Can you write an operating system inside of Emacs with elisp? It would be funny to have an operating system inside Emacs on another operating system

Great video, I would really like to know how you set up version control on config files etc.
I tried to deploy your configuration but I get the error: package helm-cmd-t is unavailable
I also have an HHKB. To which key did you bind META (M-) key?
going through all that pain with the GUI when you could just emacs -nw
