It’s funny how people judged this USA team without knowing its background. A little bit introduction: it’s made up of three full time 3v3 players (No.4, 8 and 10) and a part-time (No.12).
No.4 was an D2 graduate who’s been playing 3v3 for years. No overseas pro league experience was founded in his background. That’s why he’s ranked the highest among them (FIBA 3x3 points). But obviously he’s totally out of shape and too short. So basically we can just say he’s a good street player due to his college experience.
No.10 used to play for NAIA schools (NCAA D2 level) and focuses on 3v3 now. He got very few overseas pro experience (some dunk contests) and was about to give up basketball during the pandemic. FIBA 3v3 literally saved his career. By the way, being 6’3 is not an advantage at all. I’m happy he and No.4 have jobs to do right now but we can basically say that playing 3v3 or street ball is their only option if they wanna make money from basketball. Maybe they can get contracts from pro leagues in very small countries but they definitely won’t enjoy the life there.
No.8 used to play D1 but he was not an elite player in that level. He had some pro experience and focused on 3v3 later.
No.12 was a D1 player in college. He played for Wisconsin’s Badgers and went undrafted in 2019. Then he played as a backup in G League. After that he signed a contract overseas.
Obviously, the only part-time player in this USA team is the most talented one, the only one who got size and athleticism advantage. But he could not even keep competing in G League even though he got some flashy highlights in Wisconsin. We all know USA roster could have been way better than this. Although 3v3 is different from full court 5v5, bringing more talents to the team will definitely make the outcome better.

manu camus is right. guys in those streetball youtube clips would be absolutely destroyed by lithuania. I think you both underestimate the quality of lithuanian basketball and overestimate quality of american streetballers. 3v3 is a high intensity, very specific game that requires different qualities than flashy moves and dunking skills.
I’m not trying to shut in these guys but we can put way better players out there than this it’s hard to watch why not put joe Johnson out there someone like that these guys look out of shape
US played really bad, there were people who said Lithuania has no chances, but reality is that Lithuania are №2 in the world, while US are 5th. And overall as I said US thought that they invented the game and won the most in big basketball, so they would beat everyone with 34 year old globetrotter in the lead and man who can't do anything besides dunks

@Lup Vladimir your wrong. The best players in NBA Vs this guy's would actually lose (that is I would give a higher chance to the best 3x3 team). This sport is on entirely different level than basketball. Here you won't get a foul for every single contact like in NBA it's very physical. I would love to watch that game but I think it wouldn't be such a fight to begin with...
The only thing I don't like about 3x3 is that the ball is smaller than regular basketball.
