I would imagine most people interested in a watch like this would be major collectors. IMO this watch is way to sophisticated for casual wear. I would have it for display.
Yay! I’ve been waiting years for this amazing watch to get some proper TH-cam attention. You hit it out of the park, neighborhood, region, continent, atmosphere, and solar system. Bonkers indeed.
Wait, 600.000 seems reasonable for some reason. I mean, there’s some Richard Mille out there that cost 1 maybe 2 million and didn’t have this amount of complications and craftsmanship
There are a lot of unconventional "art" style watches at this value that just look tacky, but this is pure art. Mechanically, finish, design, just everything is perfect. Compared to the equiv price Richard Mille, this is exceptional
You'd think they'd make a much larger version as a table ornament. Imagine the same thing but around the size of a side plate on your coffee table, it would be amazing and I'd imagine they could make something even more incredible.
This thing looks amazing. Why don't people give jacob and co credit as much as they could? How does the complexity and craftsmanship of this compare to, say, an AP Code 1159 Universelle?
Who doesn’t give them credit? I mean i respect their ambition, but everything they do is too much for me. Not just money, but in the “look at me” factor. Over complicated for the sake of over-complication. Amazing, but also pretty much unwearable. But yes I get it, they’re basically mechanical artists who’s art also happens to tell the time.

Believe me when I say, save your money for something else. If you like the omages, you can spend a lot less, or for the same price, a superior quality Levrette Levmaster Sub Professional 300 with a REAL Swiss movement inside. All that fuss about the caliber 77whatever they claim is an unspecified clone of a 2824, almost certainly chinese. For that price they are robbing your money!
Cool, the kinds of watch to buy when you already have The model from each amazing brand (especially the trinity which includes Jaeger-LeCoultre). But Jacquet Droz was the first to do things like this (w/ animation and story). God bless.
If I can ever afford a Jacob, this is the watch I will buy. For me this is the only Jacob that is tasteful while being an engineering marvel. A true hyperwatch.
OMG suck beautiful craftsmanship 😍 they should consider making a Gleason's Flat Map with the Sun & Moon going between the Tropics of Cancer a n d Capricorn, around the World, and the 24 hour clock around it... They could have a normal 12 hour clock floating inside the watch, a Planisphere of the e n t i r e World not just the Northern hemisphere... Lovely craftsmanship 😍
As usual excellent and interesting video. I love the channel but there is a massive discrepancy between how the guys here market watchfinder and the service provided when you actually contact them-such a shame. I wouldn’t recommend ever using them for your watch needs.
Which company makes watches for Jacob? It's interesting that Swiss companies don't make anything like that on their own but will make it to order (Jacob has worked hard to develop a clientele). Corollary: the Swiss are _much_ more capable than their "everyday" production suggests.
I understand the hate these get, but I love em at the same time. It's a beautiful watch. I want one, but hopefully I'll get to merely see it some day. I have a Rolex on my wrist right now, but that makes me a little green with envy.
When the alien finally invaded earth and got their hand on one of these, they used their extraterrestial technology and a little bit of voodoo magic to turn the watch into a time machine. It's awesome. Way to go, J&C, keep pushing the boundaries and all that. As far as a watch goes, it's horrific. I wouldn't wear it if they gave me a free one. Still, innovation is great!
We’re about 10 years away from Jacob & Co creating a watch with a mini arc reactor powered sun that also tells the time.

A Tesla Coil in a watch would be a banger
And all mechanically

That’s true for many brands: including Swatch.
“Tells the time” sure, if you can figure out the dial

The maddest thing is the afterthought of a sailcloth strap.
They accidentally made a pocket watch then remembered the assignment was for a wristwatch.

The designers must have spent all their brain juice on the dial and had nothing left for the strap 😂
Lol😂
You can ask for a matching metal strap. They make everything custom. You may have to wait a few months but it is possible.

@Bax Out The Box thanks for the tip, never seen a watch with a ring pull before
Whatever you think about the way it looks you cannot deny this is pretty great engineering, it's fascinating
how do you rewind it, change the time or do anything to set it? I didn't see any knobs. Is it an automatic movement?
It's magic infused. Works just with envy of the people around.
