      Valeu, Mauro! Vou te contar meu testemunho... estava precisando demais de um teclado com mais recursos e mais portabilidade que meu piano digital. Após muita pesquisa, oração, optei por comprar o CT-S500. Ele custa o mesmo que um Juno-D de quase 20 anos aqui na minha região. Pois bem, estou na segunda parcela de 12 ainda. Mas entreguei esse desafio ao meu Deus, é para Ele. Estou fazendo trabalhos extras pra ajudar, também abri mão de todos meus presentes de Natal, aniversário, dia dos pais, aniversário de casamento que minha esposa ou mãe poderiam dar até o final do ano que vem, para ajudar a abater nas parcelas e não pesar no orçamento da casa. Deus tem conduzido tudo até aqui, e louvo o nome dEle por isso! O desafio é grande, mas é por Ele e para Ele! Com a direção dEle, você também VAI conseguir. Vou orar por você hoje irmão. Deus abençoe imensamente sua vida!!

    Is this your original composition? It's so beautiful, delicate and moving. I just got my CT-S1000v, and this video was one of my huge deciding factors. I don't play as well as you do, but I love to compose and layer a lot of pads. And this little machine has some very impressive pad sounds for sure. I got a DOREMiDi USB host and connected the Casio's micro USB port to it, and then connected it via MIDI cables to my Roland Juno DS. The MIDI USB host is working like a dream, and I can do a layer on the Casio and then do the complex layers on the Roland and mix it all together. These two keyboards have been working great together, and I hope to record some music soon, as time and life permit :)

    • @EFPianist
      @EFPianist  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks, Ivan! This song is called Oceans, it's not my composition. Very glad to help!! Very interesting, how does the CT compares to the DS in terms of piano and pads?

    • @ivanl.8201
      @ivanl.8201 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@EFPianist You bet. I looked up the original version of the song in the meantime, but I absolutely loved the ambiance/atmosphere in your cover that is not as pronounced in the original. I think the DS could serve you well in making these types of sounds. I think it really doesn't compete with the CT. It really complements it, because they sound so different. The CT has that lovely nostalgic brightness that Casio traditionally has, while the DS will sound more nuanced and complex. I think the DS pads are more evolved and expressive than those of the CT, which is no surprise considering the price difference, but my main complaint with the DS pads is that there are just not enough of them :(. I've had the DS for 2 1/2 years, and they put so many abrasive EDM-style monophonic synth leads into it, and they haven't put in enough calm & mellow pads. The DS strings are disappointing (the strings on my 2020 Korg i3 sound better) frankly, and, if you are looking to pair your CT with another keyboard, I'd honestly recommend Korg Kross 2 over a DS, because it has many more pads and rich ambient sounds for the lovely type of music you're playing :).

      I actually have the Juno DS88 and was looking for a 61/76 keyboard to take around to gig with. Bought a few midi controllers but took them back for different reasons. I just got the Casio ct s1000v also over the last week. I always loved portable keyboard but sold the Casio ctk 7200 I was using. Kinda glad I’m back. There are a lot of advantages to using a portable keyboard as a midi controller. The things I like about the s1000v is that it’s slim, portable, connects easy to my ipad for midi, and allows me to use the onboard sounds and speakers. I considered the i3, kross 2, or the 61 Juno DS but got the Casio on a sale. The other keyboard have some high quality sounds but I have plenty of sounds on my iPad and also some of the Casio sounds are pretty good.

    • @ivanl.8201
      @ivanl.8201 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GospelMusic4Life Oh, wow. That's great! There's one thing I was pulling my hair about, and I thought I'd share, as it took me a long time to grasp. Basically, if you ever use Juno DS as a tone module for your Casio and have them both connected via MIDI, there's an apparent mismatch of Casio being able to layer only 2 sounds, and the Juno being able to layer 16. I really wanted to send more channels from the Casio to have more instruments play at the same time on the Juno, but was stuck at the "2" limit. I thought I needed to buy MIDI splitters, mergers, combiners, but none of that was necessary (the only thing you'd really need would be a DoReMIDI USB MIDI host box). Basically, if you go the performance edit screen for the Juno DS, you can just have different voices on the same receive channel. If you have a 6 sound layer on the Juno, the first three sounds can be assigned to channel one and the second three to channel 2. As long as you have a layer (2-channels) turned on on the Casio, you should get the benefits of all 6 sounds on the Roland. So simple and elegant, but it took me forever to realize something like that is possible.

    • @GospelMusic4Life
      @GospelMusic4Life ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ivanl.8201 Yeah I’ve played with some midi routing. I plan on connecting my two keyboards to a hub or my audio interface and doing some routing with my iPad and MacBook settings. I’m considering getting a midi control surface with sliders for when I’m out with the Casio. It will allow me to control settings and volume on both the iPad and s1000v. The benefit of midi controllers were I got sliders and drum pads but had to compromise in some other way. I have some compromises on the Casio but the keybed is superior to the midi controllers I was using and having sounds, expression, and battery operated more than makes up for some of the other issues with zoning and layering. I think a lot of that can be sorted out as you did with the routing. I would have gotten another Juno but struggled with some of the audio routing and it not being class compliant. Hopefully I will figure out a good workflow soon but I have gotten caught up with just sitting down and jamming on the s1000v not connecting anything else. 😃 Great setup you have! 👍

    How are you liking the key action feel? I'm coming from a digital Yamaha Clavinova with great graded action. I hope I won't be disappointed with the ct500. Thank you for the beautiful tunes!

    • @EFPianist
      @EFPianist  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The sensibility is very good, I can express myself properly. But they are much lighter than a graded action. The piano I have at home is a Yamaha P60 with graded action. When I play the CT-S500 I have to practice for about 20 to 30 minutes to get used with the keys. If I play with the same strength that I'm used with the Yamaha, the sound gets very harsh... to get a good expression I have to play more gently. It's also easier to play some key by accident than a graded action. It's an excellent and portable keyboard to make gigs and take with you wherever you go.

      I would prefer the CT-S500. You will have more real time controls and it's more modern than the CT-X700. It's portable and with GREAT piano sounds. Excelent for gigs!!
      But if your goal is learn piano and don't care about portability, you could search for an 88 keys digital piano. Casio and Yamaha have good entry levels. They don't have a lot of sounds and real time controls like this keyboard, but the piano action is great for learning and performance.

Can i ask for an opinion and functionality of these?

      @EFPianist  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A lot of folks ask me this question. I personally wanted a piano sound different from that yamaha's characteristic piano of entry level models. To my impression, PSR 473 is more Keyboard focused (rythms and etc) while CT-S500 has some synth functions and live controls that attend me well. I have never played the 473, but I recently received a comment from a follower that changed the 473 to the s500.
      It's a very personal choice. The best is try both in person before buying.

      @@EFPianist Actually the Yamaha also has two real time control knobs and an articulation button. Plus 4 sample pads to play wav file and loop. More powerful speaker too and cheaper. But like you I want to move away from Yamaha piano tone. Casio piano is good and it is so compact and portable but the synth, non piano/EP sounds are not as good as Yamaha. Yamaha also has Mic input and built in audio interface. By the way, piano tone has also been upgraded. However, many people reports issues with its LCD screen.

      @@paulyllow Oh, very powerful keyboard too! Nice to know that, thanks! Yes, I already have a Yamaha P60 digital piano and wanted a different piano tone.
      By the way, I invite you to watch this video. My aunt is selling her PSR 520, I took it for a while and recorded this video. I got really impressed with the quality and punchy sound.

      @@EFPianist I think the second hand Roland E09 is also a great keyboard for church worship or home group settings. The Roland overall sounds are consistently good across all categories.
