The applause for Timothy Zahn, as Yoda said, "brings warm feelings to my heart." The Expanded Universe, despite being cut down by Disney like younglings in a besieged temple, lives on in all of us, "luminous beings" who were privileged to witness its advent and mortal dominance.
I just watched Star Wars Explained do their yearly canon video and I'm constantly sad people still aren't talking about the Dark Horse "Tales of the Jedi" stories.
If we were talking about Star Wars, but we're not going to talk about it, I'd point out once again that Disney never de-canonized the EU/Legends, because *George* did it first! “There are two worlds here,” explained Lucas. “There’s my world, which is the movies, and there’s this other world that has been created, which I say is the parallel universe - the licensing world of the books, games and comic books.” ~ George Lucas, Cinescape, 2002
Chad saying “Luke is not a hero” has the same energy as Neil Patrick Harris saying in the show How I Met Your Mother, “Daniel LaRusso was the real bully of The Karate Kid.” I respectfully don’t agree with either of those statements I just think it’s funny.
Some of your most clever writing yet, good sir. Strange how nobody thinks to consult with philosophers like Joseph Campbell, given the cultural impact of Star Wars.
Chad, I love you repeatedly hitting at the theme across many videos of taking agency over our lives. I laughed, but man, do you stick the landing. Love it.
WOW! That was outstanding! I wouldn't be surprised if the wraith of David Foster Wallace came up to Chad The Bird after this show and nodded approvingly.
If 'the Dude' and 'Ben Yahtze croshaw' had a love child and it was fed redbull instead of formula and was lulled to sleep every night listening to podcasts and absorbed it like Dexter did but instead of ordering cheese omlettes he could monologue in a way man had never seen before then had an unfortunate lab accident where a bird got into the teleportation booth
Thankfully you didn't talk about Star Wars, but the decanonization Zahn's works are the real tragedy in this otherwise uplifting tale. May the force be with you and the squirrels!
Hahaha, what did i just watch! I like that bird. Reminds me of my self in basic school when i was presenting a school work but kept talk about star wars. But no. The Only good Disney Star Wars is Rogue One, Mando s01 and Andor... The rest is not even worth calling fanservice. Fans didnt like them.
In this moment I feel a little ashamed. I have learned time and time again to not hold on to First impressions and snap judgments. There have been plenty of times I have found a piece of media or literature to have far greater depth than I initially gave it credit for. If there weren't an equal number of times where my first impressions were right on the money, I would probably be better about this. However, after recently discovering this channel and binging as many videos as I can, I find myself ashamed that my initial impression was that this was some knockoff of Randy feltface. Only to find that the only real similarity is that there is the use of a puppet. I cannot wait for the next upload. Cheers.

I always had Jeremy Irons in my head as Thrawn. But that would have had to happen in the 90's.
Timothy Zahn is an amazing author, absolutely love his work
“…You might still have both hands” 🤣👏❤
JUST. SAYING. Even if I'm not talkin about it.
I’m actually so hype for this, watching the old ones till it’s live ☝🏾
Oh, thank you for not talking about SW.
The history lesson is appreciated.
Love your work Chad the bard.
I mean it was hard to complete avoid talking about it, but I think I nailed it.

I like the "antique critiques" line.

Blown my mind is
How very cool! As a Warhammer 40K person, I approve this message!
This has huge airplane facts with Max energy but with Star Wars instead of Lord of the Rings.
HONORED!
On the topic of verboten non-topics...SY SNOOTLES! T-Zahn 4 Life!
Fuck the return of Palpatine.
It was dumb.
We're NOT gonna TALK about it!

Why do the audience members we can see always disappoint me? They never seem to enjoy it as much as everyone else.
They pour HEAVY at the Green Mill, lucky they can walk outta there!
