Well look at that, the big fella has reached the ripe ol' age of 69.
As usual, I've created a tribute video of sorts to commemorate this, but this one is a bit different than usual as I'm sure you'll notice.
I, of course, like that defender of Earth, savior of humanity kind of Godzilla, like the one we see in the late Showa Era or Monsterverse, as much as the next guy. However, Ive always felt Godzilla was truly at his best when he was used as a grim representation of some kind of fear, wether that fear be of nuclear weapons, nature, etc, and a destructive force to be reckoned with.
I've felt that's kind of been overlooked in recent years, and I wanted this tribute to touch back with Godzilla's origins rooted in the fear of nuclear power and annihilation. A grim idea to be sure, but of course, the orginal Godzilla film was fittingly very grim as well.
I wanted this video to portray this feel to an extent. I've also made this video entirely black and white to fit this vibe, and left out Godzilla incarnations that fit under that "defender of Earth" category. Not to say I don't love those Godzillas, they just wouldn't fit in here.

I used this theme because I thought it fit the tone I was looking for this tribute to have quite well, and I wanted to be different for once with music choice.
The Godzilla footage here of course belongs to Toho, Toho Animation, and Bones & Orange.
Television and News footage has no clear owner I could find, but if anyone actually cares enough, feel free to step forward so owners (if any) can be credited for them here.
