    I actually like the cloth pistol bags over the plastic ones. They travel better and are usually better designed.

    Nighthawk, atlas, STI, literally everyone ships them in cordura…

      Humm, the Wilson Combat comes with cordura. Hi end!, Staccato (STI) comes with cordura, Medium end, Night Hawk comes with Cordura, High end. Atlas comes with cordura, VeryHigh end, Odd thing, the Wilson Combat comes with a very- nice cordura carry bag, and charges 49 bucks for it for an extra. ST(/Staccato has a so/so bag of cordure but charges 79 bucks for a spare. WTF?

    The “this is kinda boring” really hit home with me haha. I used to carry a Shadow Systems and after like 5000 rounds of very flat very smooth shots I eventually got bored and had to turn up the heat on it, adding a lot more money into it to turn into a race gun for competition stuff. I bought a platypus for my wife as an anniversary gift and it’s not due to be done until early next year, I’m little excited to see what it can do.

    I’m very titled towards getting a staccato c or a p for my next gun.. so much so that I’ve already talked it over with my wife. But, before any big purchase I try to do research on it for atleast a month or two to find all the good and the bad. With that being said… the price of the platy is obviously better .. but! I really want to know .. is the platypus just as good as the staccato .. or is there a difference? I’m the type of person who will edc it and shoot atleast 10k rounds in a year. But I want an honest opinion from someone who owns both. And also… how good is the warranty on a platypus and how well do they honor that warranty.

    excellent video, maybe even the best one ive seen about the Platy. I want a all metal "heavy" competition adjacent pistol. I am torn between a Canik Rival-S decked out and keeping more $$, or spending double on one of these guys with a economy red dot like a justice 2. I really think saving for one of these is the right call. Sticker shock is a real thing, though.
    I feel like im coming at it from the opposite of most of the people looking at these as a "value" gun vs Staccatos, and Buls.

    I got the new grip design with bull barrel, if it had an integrated comp on it, it would 100 percent compare to a staccato xc and is better than the P in every way. Shot it with XC and atlas, they are better yes, but not thousands of dollars of noticeable difference better. If are not competing professionally, and you don't need that .02 percent difference, save your money buy a Platypus. He is not lying the gun is so good I too also barely shoot mine; it doesn't feel like training, it feels like a cheap trick.

    • @iamnitrox
      @iamnitrox  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I also love the idea of using a cheap 27-round magpul 'stendo on a fast/accurate gun. It's like having a PDW rather than a mere pistol. I'm thinking about getting a holster for it to run on my chest rig.

  • @TheRange7
    @TheRange7 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I was so bummed that Stealth Arms chose Aluminium for the frame. The fact that they didn't even offer a steel frame option was a huge let down for me. I wanted one for competition shooting, but Aluminium framed competition pistols and I don't mix well. The steel frame for me makes the pistol balance so much better. It allows me to get back on target so much faster due to the weight distribution I get from a steel frame. I'm very stoked for the new Fusion Firearms XP Pro. While the barrel is only 4", the options are really terrific. It takes Glock mags as well. The huge bonus, the hard chromed version is going for $1199 & the black tennifer slide version is $1099..BINGO. Winner winner chicken dinner. Check them out if you care to. The boys testing the pre production models were printing 2" groups at 40 yards off the bench with an SRO. Congrats on that acquisition, it's a seriously beautiful pistol. Cheers

    • @iamnitrox
      @iamnitrox  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @TheRange7 thanks. I still feel like it's got a good weight balance regardless. I think that the aluminum scratches easier than a steel frame would too. That's kind of a negative.

    • @jmartinez1118
      @jmartinez1118 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good luck with the Fusion firearms, bought one last year and couldn’t wait to get rid of it, nothing but problems. I didn’t do any research before purchasing it & that was my first mistake. Again good luck and i hope it works out for you. I have 2 Plattys and they run great, 2000 plus rounds between them and not one issue.

    They have recently made price changes in the paint department. Armorer black is the default included color. Any change or additional colors starts at 75.00 and goes up depending on the color, I think white is the most expensive at 200. Inlays and backfills range from 5 to 15 each. If you have seen any of the five color My Little pony rainbow princess monstrosities that people have ordered you will understand why they increased the paint prices!

      @JakeCamo 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I will say the carry bag is much more useful tho, especially for competition guns, it acts as your pistol rug, the box stays in a closet. But maybe they could give us both or a choice 🤷
