    No real commentary on the product itself because I do just fine with regular earbuds or stuff stored on my phone if I need something, but videos like this amaze me. Products like this really put into perspective How far we've gone into the world of science fiction of just 30 years ago. The complex Electronics crammed into something smaller than your pinky nail. If I have one material regret about getting older, it'll be that I'll miss out on where we'll be a hundred years from now. By the way Jordan, I'm a huge fan of your videos. I hope you keep making them for a long long time.

    Thanks for the review. I bought my Bose sleepbuds about two weeks ago. I was trying mask the sounds of music from very disturbing new neighbours. The sleepbuds worked a treat at masking their music, but unfortunately they make my ears so sore. I want these sleepbuds so bad that I am putting up with very sore ears. I've tried many different combinations, even masking the metal charger plug within the sleepbuds with medical tape (as suggested by people having the same issues on Bose forums) I am so desperate for this product to work I am really hoping my ears adjust or I find some hack to not making my ears so sore. Some people have suggested using an ear pillow with them so they don't make your ears sore? I may give that a go next. BTW yes I tried every other plug to block the sound, none worked, not even silicone. So yes Bose sleepbuds work for me, but give me very sore ears. I can see how this product may be good for occasional use, but so far for me, it's not viable to use every night, simply due to how sore they make my ears....I need two days recovery before I put them in again. Hope this helps someone.

    They are basically a white noise machine for the ears with various forms of white noise. I bought a set before a trip to Europe because my wife’s snoring keeps me awake at night and she doesn’t like a white noise machine. I used them for about two weeks before the trip to get used to them. The trip was about two weeks and I used them every night. They made the difference between slogging through each day due to lack of sleep or having the energy I needed. I had two problems with the buds. The first one was the one that Jordan mentioned. I am a side sleeper I would get the scratching noise directly into my ear when it rubs against the pillow. This is due to sound conduction from the friction between the pillow and the bud. Maybe not a problem for a lot of people but I am a light sleeper. The other problem is that my ears would hurt in the morning because I sleep on a fairly firm pillow. That puts pressure on the buds. I solved both problems by using the neck pillow I use on airplanes. I laid the neck pillow flat on the regular pillow and it supported my head without my ears touching the pillow. It took a few nights to get used to this but it worked. So, the buds worked for me and were worth the money but I can see how they would not work for a large number of people or wouldn’t work to the extent to justify the price.

    Go too a ear specialist! You can make a silicone (for making ear buds ) off your ear canal for perfect fit . Believe me it is amazing!! Best I ever used ! Cost is 90€ for 1 pair but last very long . The feel is very comfortable and gets better after a while. Stop searching and buy this I promise you !

    Definitely not worth it.. it took 3 weeks cost 300$ and I can’t answer my phone or listen to music... for 300$ I should have the option to answer my phone and listen to music if I choose.. not just hear 12 different sounds .. what a waste

  • @FromDesertTown

    The longer I try to use these, the longer the list of downsides becomes:
    - Frequent issue where one earbud turns off during the night with "Disconnected" status in app, followed by the second bud after 1-2 hours
    - Intermittent issue where a loud static sound blips on and off, waking you from sleep
    - Infrequent issue where that loud static sound gets stuck on, blasting your eardrum until you pull it out and reset the buds
    - Rubbing noise on pillow (Bose promised "decals" to fix this many months ago, but still haven't provided)
    - Inconsistent battery performance between the buds
    - At 60-70 dB, they don't run anywhere near the advertised 16 hours
    - Updating firmware in the buds can take many retries
    - Extremely finicky connection to app on phone
    (maybe due to inherently weak BT class 3 signal)
    - Extremely finicky connection to charging pins in case (maybe due to Bose not testing before release)
    I bought these on release day, and am on my second pair now (the left bud completely died in the first pair after a few months). I don't use them every night, but I try to use them when travelling, or on some nights when there's noise outside.
    These feel like a beta product. The amount of deal-breaking bugs is unacceptable. How these passed Bose QA is a mystery to me. Perhaps their "wellness division" is completely walled off from the rest of the company? I love Bose's noise cancelling products, but these things are an embarrassment.
    Nice review by the way! Honest and thorough :)

    • @falcidi
      @falcidi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completely agree. Just the rubbing noise against the pillow completely defeats the purpose for getting these. The fact they promised decals for the buds to stop the rubbing noise against the pillows and not having delivered on their promise is a disgrace and Bose should do as promised. I had the dreaded 58% issue in my right ear bud but since updating to their latest firmware for the charging case two days ago that issue seems to have been resolved. Time will tell. At the moment I too cannot recommend these especially at the price-point they are going for and to be honest this is the first Bose product I'm extremely disappointing with as this is not usually like them.

    • @FromDesertTown
      @FromDesertTown 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@falcidi Did you get the email from Bose about discontinuing sleepbuds? I was surprised to see them admit the battery problems. They said the special type of battery they chose for the sleepbuds (silver-zinc batteries) turned out to be a bad choice due to inconsistent and unpredictable performance (we coulda told them that).
      They said we can get a full refund if we call them by 31.12.2019.

    I use the Bose QC20 , activate the ANC, and u can just use your own music. If you are a side sleeper, than its not so comfortable, but for me its okay.
    Last week I tested the Jabra 85t that was a really no go for me, the earbuds just falling out of my ear. so i returned those.
    I still looking for the perfect earbuds with anc to sleep😑

  • @onebodytherapy4194
    @onebodytherapy4194 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Agree .. these are a waste of money. I was using gel ear plugs to sleep for the last few years and bought these on the basis of reviews. Firstly, they do not drown out noise unless you increase the volume of the white noise they create, which will wake you when you fall asleep. The white noise 'will' help with helping you fall asleep, as you can put a timer on this, but the discomfort of wearing them will wake you up when you roll over in bed. I have used cheap earbuds and the Calm app with white noise and while it wasn't perfect, it was as good as using these. Completely overpriced based on their purpose. I'd definitely call them a 'do not buy'.

      That's an excellent point. And I think, in my case, I just wasn't a great fit for these because I generally sleep pretty soundly without assistance. My wife doesn't snore (much), and my parents and in-laws only visit a couple of times a month, so usually our house is ridiculously quiet at night.

    Only at 1:02 and wow, this sounds like robbery. "It's not sound cancelling, it's sound masking (like all buds, except noise cancelling), you can't stream to it, it uses 10 built-in *_sounds_* etc"
    😬 Yeesh.. at $250, I think all someone would need is some comfortable noise cancelling buds with good battery life.

      You could set alarms using the app, but at this point I don't think it's wise to purchase them. Bose is offering refunds to everyone who purchased them, because the batteries were having issues for a lot of people (not harmful/damaging, just battery life wasn't lasting as long as it was supposed to, and some weren't charging correctly).
