Any chance you know what blades come with the leaf twig? Iâd like to buy more of the same and snap then myselfâĶ
Your mama raised you well. You did the right thing regarding the gaming chair. I have a HENSON Mild (Original version) and I agree it's better to choke up on the handle a little. The original HENSON has a narrow handle with a poor grip so I rub my palm and fingers with an alum block and it improves the grip tremendously. The new HENSON has a thicker handle with more knurling.
Right on
I would feel bad every day looking at the chair every day Iâm that way too.
The tabs down really helped my experience with the lead twig. I had it for 2 years but stopped using it as I switched to electric then back to cartridgeðĪŪ thankfully I found your channel and you put me back onto the twig and I donât thing Iâm ever switching razors. Thank you!
Thatâs awesome. Glad it could help. Thanks for sharing
Today I received my Al-13 and tried it right away! OMG what an smooth experience highly highly recommend it
So Good. Thanks for sharing and your support
Thanks for the great video, have been watching it yesterday.
Wishing you all the best with the surgery...ð.
Greetings!
Thank you much. I canât wait to get the surgery done and move on with my life.
@@OhioShaves ð!
Good on you for doing the right thing with the chair. Respect.I need to try the Henson al13 again. It had more blade feel then I was expecting.
Thanks ð Me too, till i found the right blade to go with it
@@OhioShaves honestly Iâve been afraid to try a feather blade. Ppl say the 1st shave is rough. My neck is so sensitive. Iâve been tempted to try corking a feather blade & trying it.
I finally got the thorn and shaved with it today and it was amazing. Best shave Iâve ever had, completely BBS. Nicked myself a few times but this is my first time so Iâm not disappointed. Iâve finally found my new go to razor
Congratulations. My first time I was much worse. Kudos to you my friendð
4:00 glad to hear that you're not that kind of person that just don't think/care about other people
You did the right thing
Thank you much
Wonderful shave from both, yet again!!
Thank you much
KUDOS on the Phantom 309 pic at the 1:16 mark!!! I just bought both razors about 30 minutes ago. Looking forward to the rest of this video.
That's fantastic. Let us know how your first shift goes.
Hi there! Great video as always! The reason that Hoffmannâs aftershave doesnât burn, is because itâs only 100 proof/50% alcohol. Letâs say the 1/2 of that bottle is alcohol, that would mean only 25% of entire that bottle would be alcohol. A classic slap n burn aftershave will have a 190 - 200 proof/95 - 100% alcohol in it, even so, it doesnât start to burn much until you start to exceed 50% concentration in the aftershave bottle, in other words, over 1/2 of the entire bottle would have to be high-proof alcohol. Cheers!
Great call. I knew that for liquor but it did not compute. Thanks for looking out James.ð
Good lather ððž
The more time I spend on the lather lass time I need for the shave and lass irritation. And I let the lather also sit for a while so the hair can swell up from the water, because I too have really coarse hair (nails) ð
Have a great day!
Good to hear from you Chubs. Thanks for sharing
Your videos are great! I'm used to dry electric shaving and considering jumping into DE razors. It takes FOREVER (1 hr+) shaving in all kinds of directions to get something that still isn't BBS whether that's 1 day or 5 days of growth. The thing I'm looking to get out of DE shaving is speed. No going over the same areas again and again and again but no pulling like I've had the handful of times I've used generic cartridge and barbasol.
I'm considering the Henson since it seems like having the built in angle would be good since I'm a beginner. Would you agree?
Also which seems to be the fastest? Oil, gel, cream, or soap? I would imagine soap is since you just whip it up in the puck but what do I know?
The Henson is a great starter razor. I would buy a tallow base cream or soap using a brush as well. Stirlingsoapco.com for soap and they sell brushes as well. $50 free shipping. You can bloom the water for a pre-shave like I do. Meaning you don't have to buy oil. Premium soaps or cream with a good brush would be my recommendation for you to buy first. If you're exclusively using an electric razor, then I would definitely up for the Henson. Great buy that will last a lifetime
Great video! Getting the hang of my oneblade. Probably try a twig nextâĶ thank you.
Welcome. Glad to help out
the big reason I switch to the safety razor is to get away from gillette.
is there any other blade you would use in the leaf?
which one is less finicky with blades?
thank you.
Yes. Made in the USA: ðĶPersona lab blue: amzn.to/3J9Ltij
Hi how are you! I stumbled on this channel by accident last week, but Iâm so happy I did. Iâm 23 and since I started shaving have only used disposable razors. Lately Iâve been using Harryâs. Although I get a relatively smooth shave, the issue comes with my neck. My hair is pretty thick and I have a huge Adamâs apple where the hair follows the circular form of the Adamâs apple. I get a lot of nicks as well as irritation and have been wanting to try out something else. I was wondering if anyone can give me a recommendation? Thank you for your time!
I would first buy a premium soap like TOBS and a brush with a bowl. Follow that up with a Alum block to get rid of your irritation and finish it off with a nice aftershave balm like Nivea for sensitive skin. If you're looking for a safety razor, either of these two are awesome. If you want a little more diversity in your life, I would go with the Rockwell 6C, 6 razors in one for the same price. Here is my video comparing the rockwell 6c to the Leaf Twig: th-cam.com/video/uy6vpZ5xUnY/w-d-xo.html

@@OhioShaves Thank you so much for your help! Iâll be sure to try them out. Iâll have to share an update on the experience. Thanks again!
Love updates. Send me a video and Iâll edit and post it here on TH-cam ð
Would you recommend a leaf twig for cutting beard every 3 days? Or is it too mild for that?
Yes. Would work fine
Do you feel like the Henson has more drag? Mine feels like it almost suctions to my face. I got the worst neck irritation of my life using the Henson and RK blades. Seemed better with my favorite Gillette Silver Blue but still felt sticky on my face.
My problem is applying to much pressure.
Iâve only used my Henson al13 once thus far and I found it kind of irritating. I like my mama 53 much more but Iâll try the Henson a few more times. It did drag or have more blade feel then my mamba 53 for sure. The Henson felt more like my muhle r89 blade feel wise. This twig looks nice. I want a gold razor and the twig comes in gold & doesnât use BS proprietary blades. ð
ð
Hi there, thanks a lot for your great video. I wonder why did you prefer Nacet rather than Feather for Twig? Instinctively, Twig is less aggressive than Henson, so that it might need more aggressive blades, right? In other words, why did you select a relatively milder blade for a mild razor Twig, and a sharper blade for a relatively more aggresive razor Henson?
Thank you for your answer in advance!
We both have the same aggression in my opinion
@@OhioShavesThank you very much for the prompt reply. Just to clarify: do which two items have the same aggression in your opinion? The blades Nacet & Feather, or the razors Twig & Henson mild, or, the combinations, Nacet+Twig & Feather+Henson? Thanks!
@@yifanyang9326 the Razors.
Great content! I really appreciate what you do for the community. Whats a good medium aggressive (not mild) razor that you recommend? I like something efficient yet on the smooth side. Many thanks.

Which is less blade feel the twig or the thorn? Edit* never mind I see the twig is the mild one on their site. Thanks for the cross grain neck tip. Iâve been doing that thinking it was less irritating that going against the grain. Iâll try against and see how that works for my sensitive neck!
I think a lot of people will over Look what you have discovered as my Best tip, that I use every shave for over a year now. Let me know how it works out for you. I can say the first couple of times I tried it. It did cause slight irritation, but I did not Nick myself. Keep that in mind. It will get better with long strokes not short choppy ones.
Great comparison and shave! Still loving my twig for the head and face! I love the nacet and the personna lab blues and I use sterling witch hazel and Nivea balm as well. ððŧðŠð§ž
Thanks ð Great Products
Another great review! I'm gonna have to revisit my Twig. Have you tried the High Proof razor yet?
No I havenât
I have the new whiskey razor coming in next week for me to test and review for proof Razors. They seem pretty excited about this razor so I can't wait to put it to the test. Stay tuned.
14:10 what? The beard under my chin grown in the opposite way ðĪ
That's quite interesting
My Hair grows Chin to my ears. Adamâs apple down grows up toward my chin
I believe in the karma thing that's for sure good for you mate. Have a great year ahead . ðð
Same to youð
I love my Henson. The twig-- not so much. thanks for your videos. ð
ðð
Jury's still out for me and the twig, I ended up cutting my face and nicking a few spots- first time I've ever had to whip out the styptic pencil and got a bit of razor burn (which went away after an hour or two with an alum block and aftershave). But I didn't get any next-day razor bumps which is what I have real issues with when using multi-razor carts, so It'll probably take a few shaves to really get the hang of it. Might have used too much lather too, since I couldn't get any feedback and kept trying to adjust the angle.
ðWhich blade are you using?
@@OhioShaves The stock Leaf brand. It's my first time going with a SE razor, so I might grab a variety pack of razors to see which I like best.
Good Call. Great Razor
I tried the Twig for 3 weeks and nicked myself almost daily, so I got my money back. Then I tried the Henson AL13 mild and it's been my daily driver ever since.
Thanks for sharing Doug. What blades do you like in the Henson?
@@OhioShaves I found that feather works best for me.
Great shave! Thank you!
Thanks for watching Randel. Appreciate you
Absolutely the best blade I have ever tried was the persona med preps. They no longer make them, I think they are now called Acuthrive.. they are freaking amazing.
They are. Yes AccThrive is there rebranded name
Twig is much heavier then i expected and i like that a lot , feels great in hand . Really couldn't find one bad thing to say about this razor. Been shaving my head every day for 2-3 weeks and only nicked myself once and that was my fault . I guess Twig is for wider audience then Henson cause it's just look like "safer" option for starters and females. Cheers ð
Totally agree. My wife loves the twig
I just got the twig
yes itâs heavy but To me in wrong place , I think it should have been heave on the head not bottom handle
and itâs too short for being that heavy
I find it difficult to hold in my hand and shave with my hand wet and slippery
@@vs-1993 Yeah , i understand what you are saying , but i guess we like opposite things since i like that it's short razor. I agree with that they could make head more heavy but it's still cutting without any problem even my coarse hair. As for the slippery handle you could try rubbing your fingers on Alum block if you use one , that will help.
Nice comparison.
i was curious about what should i get in the future.
and i think i should get a twig.
i have one more option, but that's more expensive (I'm talking about the high proof razor).
i think you should check high proof too, so i can decide which one to go with even though i might not be able to get one for year or more but im still trying to make a decision right know so i can start saving money for my dream razor
Iâve heard the High Point is shit for $100. They wouldnât send me a razor because I tell it like it is with no fluff.
@OhioShaves oooh i see. The design looked good for me, but of course, nothing can be telled before checking it.
i hope they send you one so it will be helpful. but yeah, the price is really a lot higher than it should be.
BTW you were about to giveaway thorn. Did that giveaway finish?
Proof Razors has sent out their new whiskey razor for me to test and review on my channel. Stay tuned.
Good Morning bro. Wish you happy pongal. Please make a video on comparision between twig and Rockwell 6s. After watching your videos i m intend to purchase Rockwell razor. If i purchase it was 50th razor in my shaving den.
Sure ð Here you go: th-cam.com/video/uy6vpZ5xUnY/w-d-xo.html
I just purchased a Henson mild as I don't have a very tough facial hair, and it came with the RC bladess. I'm not impressed with the blades at all and an wondering why you use your henson with a naccet blade over the feather blade, just our of curiosity? Thank you very much.
The Nacet is my go to blade when testing. The feather blade is the best blade I found so far in the mild Henson
@@OhioShaves thank you so much that really helps. And by the way amazing comparison video.
Great video ! Two sweet razors !
Thanks ð
I made the move to double edged razor and never looking back
ð
Ordered the Thorn from Amazon, and they sent me the Twig instead. First pass I used the supplied Leaf blade, and it was terrible..2nd pass I used a Nacet and it felt much better..Now deciding if I should even get the Thorn.
The thorn is going to be more aggressive. Return it. What about the Rockwell 6C? Same price
@@OhioShaves I have the 6S, and while I do like it I actually find other razors work better for me, like my Fatip Piccolo for example, but I also have a Muhle R41 Grande that I like a lot with an Astra green in it. Iâll try out the Twig a bit more.
ð
Great shave. Arenât you giving away a Leaf?
Thank you much. Yes at the end of the month. The leaf thornð
Dame here, 2 passed with and 1 against. Dont trust myself going across on the neck area
After ten years of wetshaving I still regularly nick my neck (haha) with sideways (across the grain) movements.

Great razor. Good to hear from you Dan
Henson is far better been looking at how itâs made the Henson and it sets apart the competition the angle of the blade not moving itâs smooth the blade wonât move now I know the rest is just basic safety razor they donât care like Henson
