underrated channel, Oscar was my favourite player at Chelsea for 3-4 years, and so him leaving hit hard, but im glad the move worked out for him on a personal level, as sad as it was for me to see him not play for us or really in a top 5 league anymore
Appreciate the kind words! Yeah a very sad departure, there was always a quality natural player there. Please keep your eyes out for more content and if you haven’t already then do hit the subscribe button. Thank you :)
No without a doubt, the wage was good from a young age for him. However, the wage he had at Shanghai was unreal money, I mean NOT just life changing money for him but for his WHOLE family!
He was earning around 8 million per season at Chelsea so the whole "he did it for the family" narrative is total bs ;) I was happy to learn what happened to him, it was nice to hear that he helped the club in China and was respected there. He 100% had the right to make this decision, I'm not questioning that, but I'm not buying this whole "oh, he's so selfless" narration.
@@StarkillerObl complete point of view, the move was orientated around money there’s no doubt about it, but he does claim himself that it was due to supporting his family. The money he was on in China would set up his family incredibly well.
he was making £150,000 a week at chelsea unless he was responsibe for his whole village that should have been sufficient. China offered him £400,000 a week, he took the money because football is a means to an end with a very short windo of opportunity. He wasn't greedy he capitalized on an opportunity.
Yeah an unreal player, joining a league in China with less quality does leave him discarded from that Brazil team doesn't it? Would love to see him in a top league again, but with his age and the increase tempo in these higher leagues, its never going to happen...
Something I want to research and find out for a future video on the decline of the Chinese Super League, this is really interesting though. Thanks for the comment and do stick around for when that one comes out!
But let's be honest his last season in chelsea was far from brilliant..Oscar was increasingly criticized by pundits and fans especially, for his below par performances. He was a waning force and chose the right time to leave for greener pasturesp
@@lawrencenjawe9875 as right as you are, he was still getting attention from European clubs. But its noted that leaving a top PL club definitely is a sign of decreased quality. Injury didn’t help him in my eyes though.
If I was a player today I’d be on the first plane to Saudi. Oscar did the right thing. He should have gone to Russia first like Hulk did and really raked in the cash
He was overrated. I was delighted when he left. Very frustrating. He was not a favourite. Coasted through most games. He seemed a nice guy and had a lot of good moments, though.

I dont blame players leaving for money but that ''his family was not doing good'' with the Chelsea salary is just bs.

Mourinho really liked a hardworking 10, thats why he was favoured Oscar over Mata & KDB.
Oscar was never meager poor. Even playing playing for Inter he was earning way above average. Then he fit like a glove when joining Chelsea.

He was a great footballer and one the smartest human beings playing professional football.
Fun fact: Oscar is the player who’s given Neymar the most assists for Brazil, and he hasn’t played for them in almost 10 years
Oscar sacrificed his potential as a world class player for something more important, family, and I think everyone can respect that.
Oscar was earning around 8 million per season at Chelsea so it must be a really fucking big family!
Cmon , stop this, he was making money before that, and he would have make same money probably
Look how much money top players make today
@@HouseRMD yes but his family will never have to work or worry about money again
Wasn’t he like 25 when he left Chelsea? He was a good player but people vastly overrated him because he went to China.
@@HouseRMDbro. Oscar went from 150k a week to 400k. Everyone who wants to build generational wealth would take that move

He was supposed to be one of the great Brazilians

Didn’t the Chinese government bring in a foreign player tax which was at 100%. That’s why they stopped buying players for massive fees

I hope you dont have wife or daughter.
No way he did it for the family reasons specified. He was already rich.
Class as always mate. Get me on the channel
Talk referees mate!
@TheFootieAgenda ofc
He was still struggling at Chelsea 😂😂😂
He was good. Shut up
