Omg. It started out so sweet and was so far from my culture I just really enjoyed a new perspective on dating. Then it took a whole 180 as soon as they left the pods. I mean a few red flags before that but the women chose to overlook them. Then I saw how they were treated outside of those pods and I was SHOCKED. It was scary. I didn’t want to come off as ethnocentric just because I was not used to these types of relationships,but the women themselves said it was awful. I felt so bad for them.

I think it's hard to establish a comfortable silence so early on in the relationship. They're still getting to know each other, despite being engaged. So it's only natural to wanting to talk more! Marcel criticising her need for talking is honestly strange.

I’m from Ausria, so mentality wise close. Did you realize that the big words “I love You” wont be dropped. Unlike in theUSA Germans / Austrians put more weight into those words. We say “Im in love with you” but saying “I love you” is a big deal.

This is true. I lived in Germany from birth until I was 28 and have lived in the US for 10 years now. It’s still a little weird for me how casually Americans say “I love you”. To be honest that translation does not do the weirdness of the saying justice. It should be like “my hearts only joy and eternal longing”. Imagine saying that to someone you’ve known for a few days lol

I found this to be the most superficial Version of lib out atleast they cut out all the deep conversations. I wasn't sure why these couples connected at all. They were basically saying a bunch of nothing all the time (german here)
Idk if this was another case of them going to different extreme of the spectrum w production. Like with the cameras showing too much so they completely removed them and we saw nothing.....since ppl commented on the oversharing of deep traumas in the pods.....now we get the most shallow of shallow convo 😅 That or maybe they were protecting their privacy

What I found really strange was that later on Alberta seemed to really push Shella to tell her about her dating experience with Fabio. I think if she doesn't really want to know, she should rather keep her distance. Sometimes I'm wondering, if this whole "oh I don't want to hurt anyone" regarding to the other competing women is more to not look bad on TV. Those interactions are so "European"! French person here living in the US for years. I am not surprised by the men reactions and actions here (even though the edit is very strange at times). I found that Americans are generally more straightforward. Doesn't not mean relationships work better but there is a directness and awareness about Americans that Europeans don't have (especially men). The blond girl thought process is a bit odd. She doesn't not want men to objectify her and only see her body but that how she presents herself. I think that Pascal is the typical German man, for anybody, who is wondering. Sadly we do not have a lot of Marcels, luckily we only have some Tolgas ... but we have a LOT of Pascals (whatever that means).
An interesting thing. German language is quite specific and it is harder to hear ethnic or cultural backgrounds (in LIB USA people could guess the race and ethnicity quite quick). Yet in this show it was not so obvious (German is my fourth language, but even Germans cannot identify that i am bot local, because my pronunciation is great, so if a person is raised with German language or speaks fluently- it might be possible to lose some characteristics). And my partner saw how Medina reacted when saw Sally and said "he thought she is white". I could not believe that it would be a skin colour thing, but makes me wonder...

I would actually not translate "Ich bin verliebt in dich" with "I am in love with you". More as "I have a crush on you".

Agreed and with dubs you also miss the original tone of voice that they use. Unless you are a slow reader, subs are so much better
I like dubbed because I can focus on facial expressions, a lot of times the words don’t match body language and I feel like I get a better read watching their faces. Btw, Tolga’s voiceover sounds like Sergio from Sweden, I instantly disliked him 😅
As a German seeing this, they sound like completely different people to me with the dubbed over voices. The voice also expresses personality and that gets completely lost. Hannis dubbed over voice doesn’t match at all. Try watching her for some minutes at least with German. 😉

We definitely don't say that so loosely. Watching the US version I was shocked how quick they thought they loved someone. You can't love someone without knowing them for at least a year seriously.

What I found really strange was that later on Alberta seemed to really push Shella to tell her about her dating experience with Fabio. I think if she doesn't really want to know, she should rather keep her distance. But still I think Shella should have kept it more to herself, even when pushed and in previously she shared freely even when there was only Alba and one other girl. Sometimes I'm wondering, if this whole "oh I don't want to hurt anyone" regarding to the other competing women is more to not look bad on TV. Those interactions are so "European"! French person here living in the US for years. I am not surprised by the men reactions and actions here (even though the edit is very strange at times). I found that Americans are generally more straightforward. Doesn't not mean relationships work better but there is a directness and awareness about Americans that Europeans don't have (especially men). The blond girl thought process is a bit odd. She doesn't not want men to objectify her and only see her body but that how she presents herself. An interesting thing. German language is quite specific and it is harder to hear ethnic or cultural backgrounds (in LIB USA people could guess the race and ethnicity quite quick). Yet in this show it was not so obvious (German is my fourth language, but even Germans cannot identify that i am bot local, because my pronunciation is great, so if a person is raised with German language or speaks fluently- it might be possible to lose some characteristics). And my partner saw how Medina reacted when saw Sally and said "he thought she is white". I could not believe that it would be a skin colour thing, but makes me wonder...
