Thank you for this video ! Installed the part in under 30 minutes. Car runs SO MUCH BETTER! And the check engine light is gone. No more VTM4/VSA light either! Literally took the 10mm and 12mm as you mentioned , a bit of WD40 to loosen the bolts and it was swapped in no time. Thank you so much ❤
Had the PO2137 code on my 2005 TL and this video help me replace the APS. Done in under 45mins. Check engine light gone. Used OBD to clear out old code. In addition, throttle response is waaaayy better. Old APS had too much cable slack...so fixed that too.
As usual, this is a very informative tutorial. I just replaced my APP senor and tightened up my throttle cable. The TL drives like a dream again :). Thanks Fab.

What problem did you had on your tsx? Mines while I drives then when it comes to red light or slight 10mph turns it like lose power and throttle, till I let go and get back on it then it comes back

What exactly is limp mode, for me I adjusted the tension on the slack and now my vtec doesn't want to engage I feel mostly in 3rd gear I can tell but even in the first 2 gears I feel less power now. Cleaned out the throttle body today with cleaner and it seems to be running better. But any help would be appreciated
I don't have any codes. The rpm gauge responds to the gas pedal but my speedometer doesn't respond very well. It doesn't want to go uphill. I let it roll back, turned and it doesn't want to go. I had to turned it off n start back up but vehicle move slow. Any guesses what it could be?

Gustavo Castillon did u plug back in the plug for the power to if anything I will say tighten the throttle cable so there is little slack in the line check out how to make your car faster for free tutorial will show you how
fabolousg4ever yeah I’ve tried that and still nothing. It’s an oem part as well. Only thing left is that it may be a broken part. The old one I took out still ran. Would just go into limp mode every once in a while. Going to try an aftermarket part and go from there. Dealer won’t let me return the one I bought because it was installed smh.
I just put the car in drive and then back to park and the car now receives throttle input but is still stuck in limp mode. When it works do the lights on the dash immediately go away?
Rafael Torres the Acura’s have a “limp” mode they go into when the TPS goes bad. It only allows the car to rev slowly in order to get it onto a tow truck I presume. I ended up having a bad part from dealer. Swapped it with another and issue was gone. Max it will go is around 10mph when this mode is engaged

My throttle is sticking a bit, when I press the gas then let go it continues to rev after I let go very slightly and the rpm doesn’t drop as freely as it should, like it’s sticking a bit. Can I just spray some silicone lubricant into the housing or down the throttle cable? Would this help or do I need to do this and replace that part?. 2006 Acura TL base.

Hey man I just a 2013 Acura ILX the car is in a limpmode. Every time I try to turn on the car it does a click and it does not turn on. Once I get it to start I put it in drive and nothing. I have to use the shift paddles in order to drive. Any suggestion on where to start? Thanks.
My gas pedal quits working and my check engine light keeps coming on with this code. I replaced the sensor twice this week with a genuine honda sensor ($234 through amazon) and the car is still doing the same shit. Please let me know what the next step is. Getting code P2138. check your throttle body connectors and make sure you put the throttle cable tight enough and make sure you put the cable back in its bracket and make sure the sensor connector is on tight and no connector wires are loose . my paypal link-www.paypal.me/KDiaz961
@@fabolousg4ever the cable is slightly loose but connections are tight and it's in the bracket. Car drives about 10-15 miles before light comes on and gas pedal stops working. Unhook the battery to clear it gets it home. My code reader wont clear the light. I have to unhook the battery. Could it be the throttle body?
I tightened the cable which made no difference. I checked the tps with my code reader and it seems to be working okay. Nothing fixed it but turning off vsa when I get in the car stops the issue. If it's on the issue comes back. Any idea from here?

i drove the tl this morning and the check engine and vsa light came on.. when i would accelerate it would take forever and wouldn’t shift i thought my tranny went out.. i turned car off then drove it couple hours later.. vsa light was off check engine was on but it shifter normal and everything, i got it scanned and got the p2138 code ? are the things i experienced normal for this code ? thanks so much appreciate it man
thanks I have an 08 Accord and need to pull the code. Battery light comes on and off first then VSA stays on. My alternator is aftermarket and I am almost 100% sure its the alternator because everything else is good.. I'm thinking this may have something to do with the VSA since the battery light comes on first. :/
Oh ok no problem when that battery light comes up either the battery or the alternator but if you replaced the battery then it has to be the alternator no problem
After replacing this unit it still didn’t solve my issue, i bought the whole of autozone and other used parts and still not luck I was close to giving up until I tried the last dice and voila it was another switch that solved my issue.
The switch that solved my issue is I don’t know what it’s called but I can take picture tomorrow to show it. It’s underneath the throttle body behind it, the switch has a clip that has to be moved in other to unhook it. I’ll take picture tomorrow
I don’t know how to upload the pictures. Looking from into the engine bay from the front of the car, you’d see where the plastic trunk from the air box meets the aluminum part that meets the throttle body. Just before the end of the plastic hose there a nipple facing the firewall that has an aluminum pipe coming out of the nipple then it bends left going toward the back of the engine, just underneath where the pipe bends there’s a switch underneath the switch could be gray orbit could be brown and it has a white plastic on top that you have to move in other to be able to remove the switch. That’s the switch, in my case I didn’t fasten it properly with the plastic fastener so it was a bit lose that was why I wasn’t getting throttle response and as soon as I fastened it it’s been fine ever since. It is actually one of the switches attached to the throttle body. The switch at the back with white plastic fastener
MODS FOREVER yes it was a loose connector right underneath the throttle body. I think it’s white and has a plastic fastener on it that you have to clip in after connecting the switch

Keith Oh you cannot stream music with the factory HFL. you have to remember the design of the 3rd generation TL came out almost 13 years ago and that wasn't an option back then. the factory HFL is for calls only, no texts or music. in order to stream music via Bluetooth, you need an aftermarket radio unit, hope this helps!
Keith Oh the unit iscalledisimple 651 acura honda unit plugs into your factory headunit and gives you bluetooth calling and audio and usb music playing and av audio input i have a istall video once you buy the unit check it out.

fabolousg4ever it works now lol. I will say this though make sure it’s oem. Has to be Honda/Acura. Weird thing is, I bought one that was not because I needed it ASAP and it worked for 6 months. I changed it last August and it lasted til about 2 weeks ago. I had it exchanged and nothing. Found someone in the area that had parts for sale and put that one in and it worked. When im driving out of nowhere my VSA light turns on and i cant accelerate. I put my car in neutral turn it off and on and it resets and drives normal until it happens again. Could this be the APP sensor or the TPS sensor? Or both?

How is it holding up? Mine is going out and the shop quoted me over $700 to fix! I'll just do it myself. I don't get why they're asking so much.

smoother shifting, gears feel strong, and car doesn’t limp anymore, pedals don’t feel loose on the feet

No vtech you need to scan for all codes with a all system scanner cause if your not getting vtechbtheres issues

u can replace the throttle cable or loosen the throttle cable and spray it with white lithium grease.

My gas pedal quits working and my check engine light keeps coming on with this code. I replaced the sensor twice this week with a genuine honda sensor ($234 through amazon) and the car is still doing the same shit. Please let me know what the next step is. Getting code P2138. check your throttle body connectors and make sure you put the throttle cable tight enough and make sure you put the cable back in its bracket and make sure the sensor connector is on tight and no connector wires are loose .

@@fabolousg4ever the cable is slightly loose but connections are tight and it's in the bracket. Car drives about 10-15 miles before light comes on and gas pedal stops working. Unhook the battery to clear it gets it home. My code reader wont clear the light. I have to unhook the battery. Could it be the throttle body?
I tightened the cable which made no difference. I checked the tps with my code reader and it seems to be working okay. Nothing fixed it but turning off vsa when I get in the car stops the issue. If it's on the issue comes back. Any idea from here?
try checking the cars abs system for codes you need a all system scanner.

I have a 04 Acura TL, in sport mode the vsa light turns on and it goes into "limp mode" is this the part i need to replace? Code said it was the app sensor just making sure!

What if there is no codes, but when you nearly floor it and your car feels like it's wants to go faster but is holding back? It does this sometimes and then sometimes it doesn't. 05' TSX auto
i drove the tl this morning and the check engine and vsa light came on.. when i would accelerate it would take forever and wouldn’t shift i thought my tranny went out.. i turned car off then drove it couple hours later.. vsa light was off check engine was on but it shifter normal and everything, i got it scanned and got the p2138 code ? are the things i experienced normal for this code ? thanks so much appreciate it man
yup you need a new pedal position sensor will fix this problem.

thanks I have an 08 Accord and need to pull the code. Battery light comes on and off first then VSA stays on. My alternator is aftermarket and I am almost 100% sure its the alternator because everything else is good.. I'm thinking this may have something to do with the VSA since the battery light comes on first. :/

Oh ok no problem when that battery light comes up either the battery or the alternator but if you replaced the battery then it has to be the alternator no problem
After replacing this unit it still didn’t solve my issue, i bought the whole of autozone and other used parts and still not luck I was close to giving up until I tried the last dice and voila it was another switch that solved my issue.
what switch fixed your issue and what exactually was your issue explained.
The switch that solved my issue is I don’t know what it’s called but I can take picture tomorrow to show it. It’s underneath the throttle body behind it, the switch has a clip that has to be moved in other to unhook it. I’ll take picture tomorrow
I don’t know how to upload the pictures. Looking from into the engine bay from the front of the car, you’d see where the plastic trunk from the air box meets the aluminum part that meets the throttle body. Just before the end of the plastic hose there a nipple facing the firewall that has an aluminum pipe coming out of the nipple then it bends left going toward the back of the engine, just underneath where the pipe bends there’s a switch underneath the switch could be gray orbit could be brown and it has a white plastic on top that you have to move in other to be able to remove the switch. That’s the switch, in my case I didn’t fasten it properly with the plastic fastener so it was a bit lose that was why I wasn’t getting throttle response and as soon as I fastened it it’s been fine ever since.
It is actually one of the switches attached to the throttle body. The switch at the back with white plastic fastener

MODS FOREVER yes it was a loose connector right underneath the throttle body. I think it’s white and has a plastic fastener on it that you have to clip in after connecting the switch

Keith Oh you cannot stream music with the factory HFL. you have to remember the design of the 3rd generation TL came out almost 13 years ago and that wasn't an option back then. the factory HFL is for calls only, no texts or music. in order to stream music via Bluetooth, you need an aftermarket radio unit, hope this helps!
Keith Oh the unit iscalledisimple 651 acura honda unit plugs into your factory headunit and gives you bluetooth calling and audio and usb music playing and av audio input i have a istall video once you buy the unit check it out.

So i bought a new sensor replaced it and both vsa and check engine light are still on. Before I replaced it the car would drive but that’s the code I was given. The car doesn’t drive at all now with the new sensor. Turns on but gas pedal don’t work. Any suggestions??😩
Is it plugged in did recconect the wire back to it I will say double check your work and which sensor did you buy was it oem
fabolousg4ever it works now lol. I will say this though make sure it’s oem. Has to be Honda/Acura. Weird thing is, I bought one that was not because I needed it ASAP and it worked for 6 months. I changed it last August and it lasted til about 2 weeks ago. I had it exchanged and nothing. Found someone in the area that had parts for sale and put that one in and it worked. So yeah..thanks for the response though ✌🏼

When im driving out of nowhere my VSA light turns on and i cant accelerate. I put my car in neutral turn it off and on and it resets and drives normal until it happens again. Could this be the APP sensor or the TPS sensor? Or both?

I replaced the app, checked for slack on the cable. went to start, hesitated & turned off by itself.

@Charles Stockton Did you fix it? It sounds like Idle Control Valve. I had that happening in my buick and I recently replaced it.

Hey my car is not passing 5500 rpm while driving it does like when our cars are in park and u rev it until 5000 rpm but mine is doing it while driving at 5500 i got no engine light or any other problem you think could be this sensor

My acura wont accelerate at all i already change the aceleration sensor,thottle,map sensor,fuse box,and intierior fuse box,pcv valve sensor ,spark plugs,and tgrottle control module sensor,idk what else could it be ,the rpms worn move at all,does anyone know about this no acceleration?,im going to change the fuel pump see what happens.
