The room divider is a great idea! In my opinion the shelves should remain the same color they are now. That makes them stand out. If they were the same color as your walls, they would not show up as well.

I love the shelf divider. And I actually think it looks really good in wood against the white wall. It’s a nice contrast. Warms up the space.
Anna, you have such a gift of “ making do with what you’ve got” as you said. You always make things work, table saw or not. Your attic bedroom is lovely and using the shelves as a room divider is a great idea. I think I like the shelves unpainted, but that is purely my own taste. Thank you for sharing the Rat Saga with us- I was concerned by that. Good grief- you are excavating an archeological dig on your hillside! What might turn up next?! ❤️🇨🇦

Love the room divider, such a clever of space. I too like them in their raw state, maybe oiled like the floor? You could even add led strip lighting round the triangle shape to emphasise it at night?

I live in the US and spring is coming here as well. So love to see the silver bells. They are one of the first things we see here in the spring. What a great connection with your part of the world!
I love the room divider, looks like it was meant to be. Wood finish doesn't seem like too much at all, I like how it connects visually with the floor. It will probably look great in white too, but I would leave it for later, give a chance like it is and maybe in a couple years if you need something new, you have something there ;) The yard dig was so very satisfying to watch! How nice all that clean soil, great work!🥰

Great job. I like the wood shelve color. My vote would be to keep that color and not paint white. It really pops currently and makes it a great accent to the otherwise white canvas room.

I like the natural wood color for the shelves.
The metal piece to guide the saw is called a 'fence'. You can get the ones that can be clamped on, or bolted down. You are doing a great job! 🙂

Consider stuffing the holes with steel wool to hinder the rat. Another suggestion is spray foam to seal cracks and holes 6:09 in the foundation and/or a cat or a rat terrier dog. Viewing from Northern California.

Spring time! We’ve had basically no summer again this year, and my vegetable garden isn’t as fruitful as previous years maybe it’s just cyclical. Must be very rewarding to see your vision come to life, it looks great.

Hey there! I built the watering can myself, inspired by "Guldkannan", a combined loo and watering can 😅 Using the pee as a fertilizer in the garden. There is a video of when I built it but it is in Swedish unfortunately.

Mice and rats hate peppermint. You might try laying some peppermint candy around where you think they are. If you have a diffuser, you could get some peppermint essential oils and use those. Both works well.
Thats awesome Anna!! You can make anything and everything. I would love to do that. I can use a drill - but only in orthopaedics handing it up to a surgeon ( years ago now)! Well done I love the attic. Can't wait to see it finished.

Black for the divider paint? Think a contrast color to the white would look nice. Could be a brighter color like a mustard as well.

The room divider is gorgeous and such a clever idea, I agree with others about leaving them as they are the wood look is so pretty and I think Painting them white wouldn't make them stand out so much....which may be why you want to paint them. At the end of the day it is you that has to live there not us 😊
I am glad the rat has seemingly departed fingers crossed it remains that way.
As someone who has a mouse problem still (2 years and every method tried and failed) I found it hard to have any sympathy for the mouse as cute as it is the havoc they wreak is no fun 😢.

If you put a "rip" blad on your circular saw it will work fine. What you have is a "crosscut" blade.

In terms of local wildlife knowledge i would look up local wildlife trusts/organisations/charities or even governmental ones. They often publish factsheets to help people identify key species and what needs to be protected. Well, they do in my country and i imagine they would in the EU too.
