GOLDEN AGE EP analysis is up ⭐ If you liked this video, check out the Golden Age one, there's more details about the lore, and again I had such a great time deep diving into Ethel Cain's work 🤎 There it is 👉 th-cam.com/video/vm18UB7551w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IiKsh3jqSPD2Ay8M
Omg 🫢 when she sings "but it's worst to know, that I'm the reason you won't come home" what does it mean then ? Did she play a role in him being killed in the tornado ?
oh!! i thought it is just she lost him after the tornado event bcuz that’s what I can recall from the snippet of the book. I also remember she said sth in a live abt they met at their old high school after the event in nebraska
I like the idea that she's an unreliable narrator, living in her own fantasies . Gives room for the listener's imagination, interpretation, and opens the imagery up allowing the listener to reflect on their own experiences to a degree; filling in the blanks. It's a perfectly written record.
@@LEO_IS_VIBINGG Yeah, all the demo stuff that keeps being posted is amazing. Who knows if any of that music will be on it, but it's all great to my ears. The music just seems to flow out of the girl like turning on a water faucet. Hopefully she gets out of that contract she's been hemmed up by so we can have a physical CD. .. And yeah, Preacher's Daughter is epic. Probably one of the best records I've listened to within the past decade at least. I love that it's a concept record too. Not a lot of musicians doing that sort of thing anymore.
Thank you very much ❤ honestly Hayden put so much attention to this album's details I think you can always discover a little something, I tried to put on my best Sherlock hat for this 🕵♀

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? ☺️ I'm glad this reaches across generations. I too listen to Ethel Cain daily, did you listen to her Inbred EP? Thank you for the support 🫶
@@LEO_IS_VIBINGGi’m not sure about them, but i interpreted “am i making you feel sick?” as her still being concerned with love about isaiah , even though she is dead , what she still cares about is if he has a tummy ache because of her
@@m-yk7kvi heard the album for the first time today and i think at first she says it concerned, but in the last part where she asks him multiple times it turns to sarcasm or even mocking him, idk tho ;;
Thank you 🩷 it's still my favorite video I worked on, I love this album. I'm working on similar videos for Golden Age and Inbred, I'll post them in the next weeks :)
Watched your Warning reaction(s) and checked out your Band Maid/TW collab reaction. You mentioned your Ethel Cain analysis/dive so thought I'd check this out as well - Subbed and will fully watch later (don't have the time just yet - thought I'd let you know that I'm here though). My first introduction to Ethel Cain was through Gracie Abrams covering American Teenager (JJJ's Like a Version - a radio show here in Australia so if you haven't heard it, I've attached the link th-cam.com/video/_rKPotMhXGA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6LtoXbRWiQfKrihn ). I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts on the album through this reaction/analysis but I would also like to hear your thoughts on Gracie Abrams cover. Cheers from Oz 🦘

in regards to a house in nebraska, willoughby is actually dead. he was killed in a tornado. hayden posted a snippet about it a while back!

I always believed that the boy in the box in American Teenager was Willoughby. That’s wild that he’s killed by a tornado.
I like the idea that she's an unreliable narrator, living in her own fantasies . Gives room for the listener's imagination, interpretation, and opens the imagery up allowing the listener to reflect on their own experiences to a degree; filling in the blanks. It's a perfectly written record.
We share the same opinion!! This makes me so excited about her next projects, because this is one of the best first albums of all time in my opinion

This is a great explanation, thank you!
So happy this was clear 🥰 did you already know all this ??
I knew the rough idea, but u enhanced it
I love how in-depth you were with this!!!💖💕

the metaphors and imagery she uses is insane! my god!
Really I just want to talk about this album all day
Isaiah ate
This is the greatest joke I've read in a while thank you so much
Oh that’s not.. 😭
GURLLLL 😭😭😭😭
I enjoyed this so much. I never listened to concept albums but something about Ethel just really hooked me.
I'm so happy you enjoyed the video! It's the one I had the most fun doing
you should listen to have a nice life’s album ‘deathconsciousness’ similar sound to darker ethel cain tracks and fantastic concept throughout :)

hard times just breaks my heart every time
this video and channel deserves more recognition! i loved this
Saving your comments for the days I lose motivation ❤ thank you!
Your voice is very relaxing
Brilliamt overview of the album! This album is in my top 10 of albums, and I'm old,, it's so good. I listen to it nearly ever day.
How old are you if you don't mind me asking? ☺️ I'm glad this reaches across generations. I too listen to Ethel Cain daily, did you listen to her Inbred EP? Thank you for the support 🫶
59, so v old, I’ve listened to all of her music. My favourite thing to do is put on Preachers daughter and cook while it’s playing. It’s my therapy.
thanks for this great video!! loved your explanations and interpretations!!
Thank you for watching ❤ this is my favorite video I've done, and I'm thinking about doing deep dives on Golden Age and Inbred !!
I'm curious to see how the next installments are going to go. I heard Preacher's Wife and then Preacher's Mother are next.
Yes I'm so curious and excited for what's next !!
I actually interpreted the "making you feel sick" the opposite way
What do you mean ?? I'm very curious

Very nice breakdown! Also:
Wiloughby is pronounced willow-bee. :)
thank you I'm happy you liked it :) - and damn thanks for letting me know hehe. Also this pronounciation makes no sense to me 😂
COOOOL BREAKDOWN.....
Thank you, she's my fav artist, I just posted a Golden Age analysis because I also wanted to do deep dives on her other works !! Check it out :)
this video is amazing❤️❤️❤️

"I do it for my daddy" doesn't hit the same when your daddy is JJ Abrams 😫
I think her young love passed away tragically and she blames herself. Just a guess.
what do you think the family secret is?
