Amazing harvest! It is so inspiring! I have a small garden, so every harvest is exciting. I just harvested my first potatoes ever. I planted two and a half pounds of Purple Viking seed potatoes--I put them in the top tier of one of my greenstalks and the rest in a raised bed. The greenstalk potatoes died back first and I harvested a few days ago. I got almost my two and a half pounds back. The raised bed plants haven't died back enough yet to harvest. It is funny that my first year to garden I only had two round four foot raised beds. The first time we got to pick anything, my husband and I had a discussion about whether my tiny handfull of veggies was enough to qualify as a harvest. I decided to call every little bit I got out of my garden a harvest! I am about ready to evict the potatoe in the raised bed because they are hogging so much space! Keep up the good work inspiring us!
Very nice harvest Kim! You have built a lovely garden. Good job girls, well done! The best to you Kim in the rest of your harvest this year. Thank you for taking the time to film and posting. I'm off to see what else you have been doing out in your garden this year.
Hey Kim , I enjoyed you getting the children involved in the harvest. This is definitely a life's lesson and experience they will never forget. Here in the south i harvested potatoes in June.
Good for you on such a great potato Harvest there so much fun to dig up! I dug up a couple yesterday and they had little babies growing on top of the new potatoes🤔 I've never had that it's kind of strange!
I love a good potato harvest. Thank you for sharing. I was reading up on German butterball. They like a slightly acidic soil. I would say maybe try adjusting the PH and see if they grow bigger. Before you kick them to the curb. lol Metal raised beds get hot on the outside and will dry out while the middle is holding moisture. I learned that this year so it does take some adjusting to get watering right.
So true, 'everybody loves a potato harvest ' thank you so much for turning the camera on! Miss Kim you inspired me to grow potatoes for the first time this year and just had my first harvest this morning. Thank you!
Loved your potato harvest. What’s a good potato to grow for beginners? Potatoes that I can grow in containers. I like big potatoes for baked potatoes and small potatoes for seafood/stews.
I'm not great with russet potatoes, which is the best type of potatoes for baking the best potatoes for beginners, I believe, would be Yukon Gold or Kennebec potatoes. They are some of the best for all-around eating
Id try the German butterball in the vego bed and see if that gives more small ones per plant or bigger ones. But o dont grow for justbog ones. The pounds per plant seems average the same but if goal is larger size than your variety had alot to do with that. Can only compare same variety.
I love the wire mesh that you put to the top. Did you have to feed the plants through or did they just kind of figured it out? What was the purpose of the mesh other than to keep the plants upright? Great harvest!
❤massive potato harvest.😊 ❤ seeing the girls. They were such great helpers.

Your girls are wonderful helpers. My sister is coming for a visit next weekend, and I’m excited to have my niece and my son help me harvest mine.

Thanks for the comment. I hope you had a great harvest back in June. Have a wonderful day!
Oh wow that’s an awesome total you definitely won’t have to go to the store for potatoes at all. That’s great.
German Butterballs may be SMALL but _they're _*_MIGHTY!_* They came in second in weight! Good Harvest!
You're right. And....the taste is amazing!
You are the potato queen!!!
😊
Awesome total harvest.

You are most welcome. I hope you had a good first harvest.
What a beautiful harvest and helpers! I know you're going to make something delicious with those taters.
Honestly I love and appreciate your channel! You said you are planting a second round? You have me hooked on purple viking! Where do you get them?
I'm glad you like the channel. I get my seed potatoes from the Maine Potato Lady
They all have been about a pound per potato plant. Except the purple ones that were more like 2 ponds per planr.
I was having very small potatoes till I started using Miracid fertilizer. My soil is very alkaline.
Great harvest! I was wondering how do you keep that many potatoes from going bad

This video explains why I support my potatoes. th-cam.com/video/qZd8m2z-Fb0/w-d-xo.html
Sigh. I just hope Igrow something by the end of the season. Groundhogs keep eating my seedlings. 😩😩
Oh no. I'm sorry 😢
You did good. I can't wait to start growing my own potatoes. Can and do you reuse the dirt to grow something else?
Yes, and yes. I just add amendments like compost, worm casting, and / or fertilizer to the soil. Thanks for the question. 😊
How do you store your potatoes?
Hi Kim! Did you fertlize your potatoes after they started growing leaves?
No.I only fertilize when I plant the seed potatoes.
Do you give some of your potatoes away to family members? You grow a lot of them.
I grow a year supply for my family and I also grow for seven people outside of my immediate family
