Formant trajectories! Loving the in stereo record Guthrie.

Nothing sounds better than a really clean guitar. Guthrie doesn’t need a million pedals. He just sounds great

@@BeefNEggs057 I’ve no idea. I think it’s just a nice Fender clean tone and a very special pair of hands.

@@BeefNEggs057 Not sure about this particular amp, but I know in the past he has advocated putting a 12” Eminence Alessandro Signature speaker in a Princeton. I put one in my Deluxe Reverb and it sounds great! Way better than the stock Jensen.

Saw the trio at the Underdog last month. My jaw is probably still on the floor over there.

It’s like the b7 kickstarts a cycle of thirds

Guthrie you have to admit that sliding that Tritone shape up to the 12th fret and having it imply the same chord as it did on the 5th fret is complete sorcery. I’ve never thought of it that way always used that stuff in the 5th fret position but it’s clear as day when you showed it moved up to where the root is on the A string and my mind is officially blown

Wow. I hadn’t even made it to the Dom 7th part and this lesson is already worth it’s weight in gold. Listen, play with intent, pick up the guitar and make music from the first note. Such a great reminder. It’s so easy to mindlessly noodle and find yourself going back to that “lil ol’ blues lick” you’re comfortable with instead of really working on exploring the neck in a given key and actually making progress. Thank you !

The flattened 7 in a major chord❤ is a pivot point! To the 3rd of a major chord, in either direction❗ to the four and the five, of the major chord that you're in❤ understand the chords and you will see it on your fretboard🍄 peace

Dude. 11:20, 11:42, 12:07, 13:23. Unbelievable amount of connection that my brain just made behind the "why" I've been playing these notes but not understanding "why". Friends in the chat, don't make the same mistake I did--don't be a "mimic" when learning the guitar, to wind up 26 years in and not understanding what you're playing. Sounding cool early on is fun and impressive, but if you want to get serious about the fretboard, you have to do the work to learn it. GT knows what he's doing and can explain it simply.
