I can always count on you Pam! Thats exactly why I wanted to do patriotic music today. Every day is a great day to remember. Every day is a great day to listen to patriotic music in my mind.
I absolutely loved this compilation! I have their Land of The Free CD in my car and I blast Land Of The Free and Only In America! Love these boys and their love for the USA! Yes, more compilations please; this was awesome and I loved your reactions! 😀❤️🇺🇸
I can tell from your face , you're becoming a Home Fry ... and you're right , having Chance and Tim gives Home Free the ability to have that deep , rich sound ! Thanks for this great compilation !
Thank you so much for doing this. Home Free is so good. Brothers in Arms is one of my favorites. It’s hauntingly beautiful. Love Tim’s low notes and those echoes. Land of the Free is one Tim wrote about 10 years ago I think. Austin said we have to make a video of it. It would be perfect for 4th of July. Love My Country Tis of Thee. Yes, western S. Dakota is so beautiful. Been there many times. Haven’t seen the last one before so thank you. Yes, Rob (glasses) and the Rupp brothers Adam (beatboxer) and Chris (cowboy hat) are from Minnesota. Tim is from Texas and Austin is from Georgia. When Chris left the group in 2016, Chance joined and Chance is from Alabama. That’s been the only change since they were on the Sing Off in 2013 (NBC show which they won) except for hairstyles and lengths. Great reaction!🥰😍
I love the compilation reaction! You're definitely a Home Fry now! I would definitely do a 3 or 4 part compilation reaction video just capturing what they put out during lock down. They cranked out so many videos and were beyond creative in shooting them, while all separated. Another good "series" idea is one where they collaborate with other artists (the Oak Ridge Boys, Don McLean, Kenny Rogers, Alabama, etc....). Really enjoying your reactions to these guys. 😊
I believe Tim co-wrote "In The Land of the Free". Chance did the lead on "Born In The USA". Have you reacted the version of "God Bless The USA" along with Lee Greenwood?
God bless the USA was one of the first videos I did and it led me to home free. I didn’t even know they had a Born in the USA version. That’s going to be a must watch. Thank you!
Rob and Adam Rupp are from MN. This is an older version because Chris Rupp is in the video. (He and his brother Adam) started the group in MN. Chris left and Chance joined them in 2016.
They have a whole album of patriotic songs called Land of the Free. Brothers in Arms - the chords always remind me of a pipe organ. Also, Adam is singing in this one, so we get an extra harmony. Land of the Free - I love this one and watching them have a good time together. My Country Tis of Thee - A beautiful version of this song! Adam gives us an extra harmony in this one, too because he is only using body percussion. God Bless America - Their harmonies are always amazing! Adam and Rob are both from Minnesota. (Tim is from Texas, Austin is from Georgia, and Chance is from Alabama.)
The group originated in Minnesota and 2 of the present members are from Minnesota. Rob Lundquist and Adam Rupp. Adam's brother Chris and co-founder of Homefree appeared in this video who was later replaced by Chance.
Home Free is a phenomenally talented vocal band. Each one of the members could be on their own. But together they are amazing. I have only been a home fri a couple of years but I listen to them daily. I never get tired of hearing their voices, music, and stories. They are all so humble and kind. The second song, Land of The Free was an original version by Tim, he wrote it with someone else many years ago, I don’t know how long ago. The fellas on the end ( bookends) are brothers from MN and Rob is also. Adam and his brother Chris started the HF group back in 2001 when freshly out of college. Rob came in about 2008, Tim about 2010, and Austin about 2012.. Then Chris left the band to do his own pleasures He did much things for the band thru the years. He left sometime in 2016 and that’s when Adam Chance came on board. He goes by the name Chance at least that is what we call him. I’m sorry for such a long text, I don’t text often. Your reactions were amazing. Thank you. Yes, I enjoyed the collaboration of the four songs. Great job!!!!🎼🦋🎵🔥🎶🙏
LOVED your “collage” of patriotic songs and I’m not even American! (🇨🇦 Home Fry) They have others but this was a stellar selection and it’s great to see how much you enjoyed them, each one is quite different but shows you just a smidgen of what they can do! Love the “organ-like” harmonies of their masterclass 5-part harmonies in Brothers in Arms - a Dire Straits original written during the Falklands War in the 80’s. The up-tempo Land of the Free has a simple but profound message of setting aside our differences and agreeing on being thankful for your country regardless. My Country Tis of Thee - just wow re the beauty and majesty of SD - the harmonies and dynamics add to the wow factor. And, the last God Bless America doesn’t do them justice but it’s a good intro to what they can do live. One of their best is Dreamer, LIVE at the Ryman feat. Texas Hill - please add that to your list. For their fun side I’d recommend 9 to 5 - first the video which is funny and clever, then their live version where they all beatbox - it’s excellent! Keep the compilations coming!
If I'm not mistaken the sound Adam made in Land of the Free was a Beistle. It's an old time metal noise maker with a handle and when you spin it, it makes a ratchet sound. He's put it in several of their songs. Way way back when I was in grade school (I'm older than dirt) our music teacher used them to teach us to keep rhythm. Now they're mainly just toys or New Year's Eve noise makers. BTW you've definitely gone down the HF rabbit hole so as promised, I subscribed. Welcome to the Home Fries! Always happy to have a new member of the family!!! Now you need to check out (for patriotic songs) both their versions of God Bless the USA! And before I forget at the time of the twins opening 3 of the guys were from Minnesota. After 2016 when Chris left the group only Adam and Rob are now from MN. Tim is from the Beaumont area of Texas, Austin is from Tipton Georgia and Chance is from Alabama. Tim and Austin now live in Nashville and Chance live in CA
Wonderful reactions! What a treat! I think the sound effect you liked so much, in Land of the Free, is the same sound effect that Adam does in When A Man Loves A Woman (fabulous cover!) If you want to hear Adam's lovely tenor singing voice, please check out How Great Thou Art.
Home Fries love Home Free compilations!! Maybe a compilation of Adam Rupp drum solos? He has several now, starting about 2015. So happy you are on this journey😊
This was written by the bass, Tim Foust. Excellent song , love it !!! New viewer and subscriber here, I will always be here for any Home Free reaction.
That was fun! There's also a "Born in the USA" cover by HF. You should do a theme,"Songs from the 80/90's" with their songs. There are some fun but amazing videos in this category from them.
Nice reaction to a great group and songs. Another song to check out. Where the stars and stripes and eagle fly by Aaron Tippin. Keep up the great work.
Great reaction...I'm subscribing.😊 I would recommend their cover of Doobie Brother's "Listen to the Music", "How Great Thou Art" (filmed in the Austrian Alps), "Brother", "American Pie" (Sung with Don McLean) and the great song they are so well known for....Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" which they did with Avi Kaplan (Pentatonix former bass). We will enjoy going down the Home Free trail with you.😊
Btw...you asked in the video about Minnesota...the band is based there and Rob (beard) and Adam (beat boxer) live there. Tim (bass) is from Texas, Austin (high tenor) is from Georgia and he and Tim now both live in Nashville and Chance (baritone/bass) is from Alabama and he lives in LA. Pretty sure you noticed all those locations in "God Bless the USA" as they recorded separately in their respective cities.
It's ok, we all dove into Home Free's rabbit hole 🕳 willingly, quickly. Now we're watching you do it. It's a different experience every song, that's their specialty. This one is haunting!!
You started with a dirge and Home Free most heartbreaking song with “Brothers in Arms”. “Helplessly Hoping” is their best pop harmony. A serious cover of the old Crosby, Stills and Nash original. “Land of the Free” is a party song. “Can’t Stop the Feeling” is an even better summer party banger. And you can see and hear them individually. Very fun.
Fun fact (I may upset someone but I hope not): My 3 times great Aunt wrote the lyrics to God Bless America while watch my uncle and cousins work on the farm. They had just come back from ww1. Our family loved it and she loved Irving Berlin's music and sent the lyrics to him to see if he could put music to her words. As you can tell he did. He only used the first verse however. Im not 100% sure of the full verse as it was written, but the second verse starts with, "God Bless the Israelites.." But I love watching your videos for Home Free. Im a huge Home Fry since watching their first performance on The Sing Off. These guys are awesome, talented and funny guys. One of my bucket list items is to see them live. Thanks and much love!
Definitely up for more compilations. HF has sooo many vids, you'll get through more, faster. With a few of these, a chance to appreciate Adam singing so that you experience the five-part harmonies. Especially that 'church organ' effect in 'Brothers in Arms.' Tidbit about filming of that video. Tim's big, white dog, Satchmo, was usually curled up at Chance's feet in the shots where you only see Chance's torso. Recommendations for comps: Covers: 'Can't Stop the Feeling' 'Snapback' 'Listen to the Music' 'One Man Band' 'Crazy' 'Blue Ain't Your Color' 'Mayday' 'I Can't Outrun You' (feat Chance) 'Hillbilly Bone' 'Castle on the Hill' 'Try Everything' 'Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks (Mashup)' 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Lookin' For' (with Peter Hollens in his YT channel) Lockdown: 'Meet in the Middle' 'The Gambler' 'Down to the Honkytonk' 'Folsom Prison Blues' Comedy: 'Workin' for a Livin' 'Brother' 'Never Gonna Give You Up' '9 to 5' (also a live version with beatboxing breakdown) 'Country Fried Melody' 'The Butts Remix' Message: 'Don't Laugh at Me' 'What We Need is Love' 'Undivided' 'Everybody Walkin' this Land' 'In the Blood' 'What We Ain't Got' Patriotic: 'Travelin' Solder' 'Go Rest High on that Mountain' (their official video, military theme but I prefer simplicity of their 'Church Sessions' version on the 'Country Rebel' channel)
@@555Vibes The HF guys have lots of holiday songs...ranging from very funny to religious. Didn't include them, here, being it's June. We'll be happy to offer suggestions when closer to the end of the year. ETA: you qualify as a Home Fry. As for suggestion of "Mayday"..usually hold off recommending that til reactors have seen quite a few videos but think you might be ready. :)
So this song is actually an original written by Tim Foust and Chris Chatham (one of their most frequent collaborators, whom I'm sure you'll definitely see/love if you start to watch specifically Austin and/or Tim's solo work). Chris is absolutely AMAZING as well, I highly recommend Austin, Tim, and Chris' version of "My Maria"! There are just NO words for how much I love love love this trio-collab!!!
Thanks for this one....I love compilation videos! One thing with these guys is any one of the 4 (not Adam) can take lead....just depends on the song! Congrats on 1k subs...its well deserved!
By now you've earned some laughs. Brother, Butts Medley, Champagne taste on a beer budget, this is How we Roll, . Enjoy your compilation idea. Oh! some Christmas in July would be great. Snow Globe, Grandma got run over by a Reindeer, Full of Cheer, do you hear what I hear?
Chris and Adam Rupp are from Mankato, MN. Rob is from Minneapolis, MN. Tim is from Nederland, TX. Georgia boy Austin is from Tifton. Chance was born in Florida but raised in Alabama, on the Gulf Coast.
As noted, Mark Knopler of Dire Straits wrote Brothers In Arms in response to The Falkland War. He played a beautiful guitar solo. The Finnish a capella group Club For Five arranged it for a capella. Club For Five graciously allowed Home Free to use their arrangement with Tim only adding the echoes. If you react to The Sing-Off Season Four performances, I'd suggest you watch the individual videos of each performance instead of one with all the performances. The individual performances have the judges' comments that are worth seeing.
Great reaction!! Brothers In Arms Dire Straits is the original artist this version is Haunting beautiful Land Of The Free original written by Tim he is an amazing songwriter My Country Tis Of Thee absolutely beautiful song and location. God Bless America amazing Rob and Adam are from Minnesota. Chance -Alabama,Austin-Georgia, Tim -Texas Adam and his brother Chris ( guy in cowboy hat )last video founded the group in 2001.
Just BTW, My Country Tis of Thee is the same tune as "God Save the Queen/King". "Brothers in Arms" isn't, strictly speaking, solely about the American military but about the armed services of any nation. Incidentally, Tim & Austin do fund-raising for veterans charities. As always, the singing, harmonies & beatboxing are impeccable.
God Bless America had Chris Rupp, along with brother Adam, started the group. Those two and Rob Lundquist are from Minnesota. Tim is frim Texas and Austin is from Georgia. Adam Chance took over for Chris Rupp when he left for solo work. Chance is from Alabama. Be sure to get the correct version of Go Bless the USA. They did a good earlier version but you really need to see Lee Greenwood and the Singing Sergeants of the AF Band. Another strong patriotic song is Travelin' Soldier. And their version of Go Rest High on That Mountain is patriotic. And there are so many great songs, but you have to do Sea Shanty Medley, even my bird dances when that one plays!
They generally pick the voice best suited to the song. When you have 5 gifted singers, you can do that. Tim has been able to take more leads since Chance joined them because his bass abilities are better than Chris' were, so he can better fill that bass line. (Chris was on the far left in the "God Bless America" clip). TWO songs with 5-part harmonies!! Excellent! I think you qualify as a Home Fry - anyone that appreciates the band is automatically "in"
I would suggest a love song compilation: Amazed, Make You Feel My Love, Unchained Melody. Movie Themed: This Is How We Roll(The Big Lebowsky), Working For a Living (Anchorman), Honey I'm Good (Groundhog Day). Female collabs: Delta Dawn w/ Brooke Eden, To the Moon & Back w/ Maggie Baugh, Meant To Be w/ Lisa Cimorelli, Sing Off contest journey with judges comment. (Mr. Duckbear has great footage) Danceable Cant Stop The Feeling, Love Train, Listen To The Music, Blue Aint Your Color Yes they covered Girl Songs: All About That Bass, 9 to 5, Crazy, Mayday. Religious: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain, Amazing Grace, My Church MASHUPS: Countrified Pop Medley, Sea Shanty Medley, Butts Medley, Fishing In The Dark/Boondocks, Thinking out Loud/ Lets Get It On. Famous collabs: Elvira w/ Oakridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee w/Kenny Rogers, American Pie w/ Don McClain. Stargazer Trilogy: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lily, MR. Family furbaby fun: Sunday Best, When will I Be Loved, Quarantine Family featured: Down To The Honkytonk, Hillbilly Bone, Die A Happy Man, Friends In Low Places Country classics: Ring of Fire, Folsom Prison Blues, Take Me Home Country Roads
Still thinking: Great Roads songs: On the Road Again, Road Sweet Road, Bless The Broken Road, Take Me Home Country Road. Animated songs: Crazy Life, Undivided, Whats Left Of My Heart. (Telly award winner) Funny ones: Brother, Champagne Taste on a beer budget, Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, Quarantine, All about that bass, What Christmas Means To Me, Butts Medley, Full of Cheer. ( you could do a separate christmas funny ones compilation) Special meaning: Die a Happy Man, Cover Me Up( must show outro), Spaceship, Stargazer Lily, Mr
I always liked the Dire Straits version, but I only got really interested in this song through Home Free. Although I have to be honest I think the Dire Straits 😊guitar playing is phenomenal Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body! This is so emotional. Beautifully sung by Tim and Chance, but the background and harmony of Adam, Rob and Austin is also so beautiful. It looks like a choir or actually a kind of church organ sounds. And the whole setting of the video is just amazing. Simple but with so many details that makes it so profound
Awesome reaction! New sub here. I have listed to all of your Home Free Reactions so far and I’ll be here til the end…….however they are constantly making new music and videos! While you are on the patriotic kick why not do their rendition of “Born in the USA” Another one that shows each of them taking their turn at the lead is “American Pie” and they sing with the original writer and singer, Don McLean.
Brothers in Arms is NOT patriotic. Mark Knopfler wrote it in reaction to the Falklands/Malvinas war, the most pointless bloodshed in history, It was instigated by Thatcher to boost her poor poll ratings, many people being dim enough to think a war is a reason to support the government. Listen to the lyrics. The last line says that war is for fools, not that My Country blah blah. It irks me a lot that one of the most heartfelt anti-war songs ever and the least unpatriotic is taken over by nationalists.
You can't call Brother In Arms patriotic. It has nothing to do with your country. If anything it's patriotic for The United Kingdom, but I don't think the song ever was intended that way. Quite the opposite.
What a day for patriotic music, wanted to honor those brave men on the anniversary of d day, this world would be a different place without them. I hope we never have to do anything like it again, thank you to all that serve or have served, appreciate the work you put into the video and commentary you do it right

I agree about Go Rest High On That Mountain, I much prefer the Church Sessions
So this song is actually an original written by Tim Foust and Chris Chatham (one of their most frequent collaborators, whom I'm sure you'll definitely see/love if you start to watch specifically Austin and/or Tim's solo work). Chris is absolutely AMAZING as well, I highly recommend Austin, Tim, and Chris' version of "My Maria"! There are just NO words for how much I
love love love this trio-collab!!!
Awesome thanks!
Yeah, I was obviously talking about "Land of the Free" specifically, and it was just to the best of knowledge/research.
✌🏻😎👍🇺🇸
I enjoyed the 2 I saw
Thanks for this one....I love compilation videos! One thing with these guys is any one of the 4 (not Adam) can take lead....just depends on the song! Congrats on 1k subs...its well deserved!
Thank you!
Thanks Genie! Appreciate the songs. It’s been a great journey so far.
Brothers In Arms Dire Straits is the original artist this version is Haunting beautiful
Land Of The Free original written by Tim he is an amazing songwriter
My Country Tis Of Thee absolutely beautiful song and location.
God Bless America amazing
Rob and Adam are from Minnesota. Chance -Alabama,Austin-Georgia, Tim -Texas
Adam and his brother Chris ( guy in cowboy hat )last video founded the group in 2001.
Thanks Lynn! I think I’m going to have to see that Dire Straits cover now.
@@555Vibes do you mean the dire straits version that the original artist sorry if I wasn’t clear
@@LynnRamsay yes, I meant the original.
@@555Vibes lol ok sorry I was rushing out the door when writing the first comment I didn’t know if I was things
Tim wrote "Land of the Free" (Tim, Austin & Chance are all song writers).
Tim wrote Land of the Free
They generally pick the voice best suited to the song. When you have 5 gifted singers, you can do that. Tim has been able to take more leads since Chance joined them because his bass abilities are better than Chris' were, so he can better fill that bass line. (Chris was on the far left in the "God Bless America" clip).
TWO songs with 5-part harmonies!! Excellent!
I think you qualify as a Home Fry - anyone that appreciates the band is automatically "in"
Thanks Nancy!
Please do Traveling Soldier by them you’ll love it
Maybe you might wanna check out Adam's drum solo - it's the one he's wearing a red shirt. I think you'd really like it 🎉
Thanks!
I would suggest a love song compilation: Amazed, Make You Feel My Love, Unchained Melody.

Sing Off contest journey with judges comment. (Mr. Duckbear has great footage)
Danceable Cant Stop The Feeling, Love Train, Listen To The Music, Blue Aint Your Color
Yes they covered Girl Songs: All About That Bass, 9 to 5, Crazy, Mayday.
Religious: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain, Amazing Grace, My Church
MASHUPS: Countrified Pop Medley, Sea Shanty Medley, Butts Medley, Fishing In The Dark/Boondocks, Thinking out Loud/ Lets Get It On.
Famous collabs: Elvira w/ Oakridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee w/Kenny Rogers, American Pie w/ Don McClain.

Family furbaby fun: Sunday Best, When will I Be Loved, Quarantine

Still thinking: Great Roads songs: On the Road Again, Road Sweet Road, Bless The Broken Road, Take Me Home Country Road.

Funny ones: Brother, Champagne Taste on a beer budget, Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, Quarantine, All about that bass, What Christmas Means To Me, Butts Medley, Full of Cheer. ( you could do a separate christmas funny ones compilation)
Special meaning: Die a Happy Man, Cover Me Up( must show outro), Spaceship, Stargazer Lily, Mr
I always liked the Dire Straits version, but I only got really interested in this song through Home Free. Although I have to be honest I think the Dire Straits 😊guitar playing is phenomenal
Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body!
While you are on the patriotic kick why not do their rendition of “Born in the USA”
Another one that shows each of them taking their turn at the lead is “American Pie” and they sing with the original writer and singer, Don McLean.
Thanks Kim! Thanks for the songs. I’ve got to see them.
Definitely God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood and the US Army singing sargeants
I totally agree 👏🏻
You can't call Brother In Arms patriotic.
It has nothing to do with your country.
If anything it's patriotic for The United Kingdom, but I don't think the song ever was intended that way. Quite the opposite.
“LAND OF THE FREE”…was written by Tim 🫶🏼❣️🇺🇸❣️🫶🏼‼️
They a cd that’s nothing but, patriotic songs 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸‼️
Brother In Arms is not patriotic though
